I LOVE SPINACH, BEEF PATTIES, JOLLOF RICE, SPICY GOAT SOUP

Delicious cuisine, flavors are so rich with a perfect amount of spice. The establishment is beautiful and welcoming. Wonderful customer service!

GROUNDNUT DELIGHT

A great addition to Park Central, this African restaurant provides a cozy dinner experience with friendly staff and quick service. I wasn't too familiar with their plates, and the menu's photos weren't labeled, but the staff were happy to explain and point out their dishes. I ordered the Groundnut Delight with beef and fufu. I was a little hesitant since it's a peanut butter base, but its rich meaty taste only had a hint of PB, certainly well balanced, not overpowering. The beef was tender. The fufu had a mashed potato texture that complimented the soup. I prefer it to grains since it absorbs the soup better imo. Spent ~$20

BEEF PATTIES

This is definitely one of my favorite spots to eat in Phoenix. Everything I've had here smack! The Jollof Rice is always on point. I love the chicken, the beef patties, and the plantains. The Guava Juice is also hella good. It's always a relaxed and chill environment with a playlist that will have you dancing in and out of your seat. The service is always nice and fast, very helpful if you haven't questions.

My co workers and I came here for lunch one day around 11am. In my opinion, the exterior of this establishment doesn't match the interior. When we arrived, there was only one person in there. The three of us took a seat wherever we wanted and the server came to our table shortly after. We ordered our food and while we waited our server made us some sample drinks. It was a hibiscus, pineapple juice, and ginger drink. This drink was refreshing, delicious, and a favorite amongst all of us and we had to order it!! Our food came out and it smelled and looked delicious! The taste was pretty good, to me. The only thing I didn't care for was that the beef was a bit too tough for me. It had more of a medium well steak texture when it would truly benefit to have more of a good pot roast texture. If it were more tender and the meat pulled easier.....it would've been perfection for me! My coworkers ordered the chicken instead and they said it was tender. I can't vouch for it but I will try it the next time I go.......because I WILL be back!

Spinach Stew

I came here for lunch, and I ordered the spinach stew with chicken. As a Ghanaian, I have a high bar for west African food, and this was some pretty good food. The waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and descriptions of some of the different ingredients in the dishes, which was appreciated. The jollof with the spinach was ok, but the spinach was good. The chicken was also good, as was the plantain. In addition, the portions are quite big and filling. I'd definitely come back here for some more comfort food that reminds me of home!

It was our first time and we enjoyed every bite! Highly recommend the food everything was delicious. The atmosphere and music were great, and the customer service was on point. We'll definitely be coming back!

I love Spinach with Chicken with Jollof Rice, Okra Go Follow and spinach with Fufu, and Groundnut Delight soup and seasoned to taste with goat and Jasmine Rice. Guava juice was very good too!

I LOVE SPINACH with fufu, I felt like half the goat was fresh then I felt like then you other goat that could have been old

I got I LOVE SPINACH. Pretty tasty but can say they a lil bit salty other then that it taste good mince the salt. The fufu got burned a lil bit why it has a dark spot on top to where I couldn't really pull it and the portion on fufu is really small. I will try and an see what happens next time

Ok haven't been in quite some time like a year or so. I wonder if different owner. I thought I did a review when I first went but guess I didn't. The flavors were good tonight just tasted different from when I first came. I did the west hut plate. My only complaint was the salad was drowned in salad dressing so it was soggy. The star of the show is the beef patties with the habanero sauce. Ambience was nice African music and customer service was excellent.

Great customer service and delicious food. This was our first time here, but even before the food came out to our table, my husband and I were already planning our next visit. When our friends arrived, they too said they plan to return because the customer service was friendly and professional. The food was out of this world good. The spices were wonderfully balanced. Thank you for a great experience.

First time here! Saw the good reviews and been wanting to try some authentic African cuisine and this didn't disappoint! It was different and delicious! Service was great and our waitress was very kind and helpful! I would recommend if you are looking for a great home cooked style meal, great atmosphere as well as very clean! Try it if you haven't already!

FRIED PLANTAINS

Order delivery through food app. First time trying groundnut chicken and fufu. Also enjoyed the beef patty and the plantains. Was a nice choice for something different.

Food didn't taste authentic or good. It seemed more Americanized and lacked flavor. Would NOT recommend

Are the soups Nigerian or a culmination of other countries?

After the 20 hours of traveling, I came straight to this restaurant I had to keep the moment going by getting my pepper soup with goat meat and my fufu. I love this place!!!!!

Why isn't this cuisine more popular?! Seriously, I don't think we would ever have gone if my…read moredaughter hadn't sent me trending TikTok's of people eating Egusi and Fufu. So glad we did! The spices and "soups" (more like stews) are exotic, similar to Indian food in presentation, but very different in how the meats are prepared. Traditionally, you eat the soups with fufu. I would describe fufu like a thick, glutinous, fairly bland, root paste used as the delivery vehicle for the soup to your face instead of a fork or spoon. No utensils! Fingers only and it makes the experience even more fun. The fufu pairs perfectly with the soups and is very filling. One entree easily makes for leftovers. I believe the African goddess that cooked and delivered the food to our table is the owner. She knew it was our first time and you could feel her care in the preparation and her joy in explaining the best way to eat. The dining area has about a dozen standard diner style tables and there is a sink IN the corner of the dining room to conveniently wash your hands, before and after eating. This no frills, locally owned treasure is a must try. If you are intimidated by new cuisines eaten in untraditional ways, look up "Egusi and Fufu" on your favorite social streaming app to learn everything you need to know. You will walk in with confidence. Regardless, the fine folks working here are also kind and eager to help and make recommendations. I'm posting with updated menu photos (Nov 2025). Prices seem to range $20-$25 per soup including the fufu. We had the Egusi and the Cassava Leaf soups. Both fresh, amazing and in my opinion a good value.

This is a hidden gem. I'd definitely return to try other items. Accessible entrance.

But, unfortunately for me my experience was the exact opposite . This location is set in the Tempe food court. So automatically I was turned off by the fact it's not personable no interaction with the actual creator or business owner . You have to order through a kiosk ( which I do understand the idea of conveniency culture .) But places like this deserve to be show cased . What I ordered was fried plantains, Ogbono Soup , with two pieces of chicken , poundo fufu, and two sodas . For starters , The plantains were a bit undercooked, the soup was lacking flavor very ( oily , had no other contents but broth and the chicken ) so what was advertised on the menu looked NOTHING like what I got , no fixings such as ( no okra , the peppers etc) . The chicken was dry and it didn't taste fresh at all , it had this peculiar after taste I couldn't quite put my finger on. Overall I wasn't at all satisfied with my food and I'd say this meal in particular wasn't worth the $51.00 whatsoever. I want to say I stand firmly on supporting black businesses, but I won't lie about my experience. I'd say i would give this place a second try and at least come back to try the Jollof rice since that seems to be their top seller as it was sold out .

For $17 I got the vegan combo plate and it came with 2 sides -- I opted for the mesir wat (spicy lentils) and gomen (collard greens). The mesir wat and gomen came beautifully wrapped in an injera, with a salad on the top and two very large rolled up injeras. This combo would be more than enough for two people to share. I ordered right as they opened and my order came fairly quickly (~40 mins), so I was really happy with that as well. The mesir wat was seasoned spectacularly! Just enough heat that pairs with the savory flavor. The gomen also was deliciously garlicky, all coming together so harmoniously with the sourness of the injera. I was worried that ordering it for delivery would affect the experience, but everything came nice and warm and it was so great to have this meal at home. I definitely will need to come in next time, with friends for sure, I could not finish this combo on my own.

We ended up getting platters off the menu instead, mostly ordering vegetarian. (But if you're hungry or want more food, the buffet is a good option.) The green beans and the collards are a solid combination because of the difference in texture and spice. Cabbage, fish and beef were also good. Everything came either on a bed of injeera (soft) or rice, or a combination. On weekdays they have lunch specials which are the best deals and very good and inevitably you'll have leftovers to enjoy later. Service has been better and more attentive in the past but it was busier than usual too. The actual decor and location is a bit dated but you probably wouldn't come here for the atmosphere.
