I have sleep apnea and wanted some type of mouth guard and they seemed to be a best fit based on all my research. When I came in, I scheduled during my lunch hour, and it was less than 5 minutes from the office. I loved that I got a notification reminder week of and hour before, as sometimes I tend to lose track of time. I entered into a bright lobby and was greeted promptly (by name!!!) and was checked in. The wait time wasn't long, just a couple of minutes and the dental assistant guided me back to the room. Walking through the halls, have such great lighting, great for a photo!! lol, but entered in the room, chair was super comfy and they have a tv on the chair so you are distracted for whatever dental cause brought you in! Great for those that don't like the dentist! Dr. McRay came in after getting all checked in and asked me about my sleep study and helped review over all the information in the results and explained in great detail what he was able to offer and provide me and how he is different from other devices that are used out in the industry. I was really happy with how knowledgeable he was, as well as the staff, and making me feel super comfortable with my choice and confident in moving forward. He explained all the costs upfront and what all the costs entailed, which I left feeling even more confident that I'd made the right choice. I left and took some time to think it all through and before I knew it, I was scheduling my follow up to get fitted for my mouth guard. The cool thing about their process includes some breathing tests so that they know how to make adjustments to the mouth guard and make it truly fitted for you. They sent everything off and received back in two weeks. Night one, I noticed such a huge difference in how I slept and woke up feeling so rested and less groggy. It's amazing what one thing could do to change your entire sleep cycle. It's been a few weeks now, and still loving it. I had a follow up with Dr. McRay and he is just a dream and so is the team! Why I chose this office: It was in my insurance network. Dr. Chloe has been in dentistry for 18+ years according to the NPI (license number) I found. According to the website the office keeps up with the latest dental technology. The pictures of the office (Eldridge location) were very nice, clean, and classy. Great decor. I was able to find some pretty good reviews. My experience with Dr. Chloe: The first thing I noticed was her smile. She has a very nice set of veneers, they really light up the room. She was nice enough. There were a few comments made that rubbed me the wrong way. That's okay, I chucked it up to just having two different personalities. But I did make a mental note. Overall, I would say Dr. Chloe is a very knowledge dentist and I would trust her with my dental care. My experience with the team: I was able to get a same day cleaning. I don't remember the name of my hygienist but that was one of the best cleanings I've gotten in a long time. I did not tell the office that I have experience in working for dental offices and that I currently work for the insurance company. I like to see how they treat me not only as a patient but also when it comes to the financials. So now it's treatment plan time. Everyone's favorite part right lol I know my insurance policy in and out. The Dr recommended a couple procedures that I knew for a fact were covered at 100%. Since I work for the company there's barely anything that is not covered at 100%. Which is unusual for a dental policy but again, special circumstances here. The girl at the front desk says okay let me go talk to the office manager really fast. Okay, I wait for about 10 minutes. She comes back out. Oh actually she's not here she'll be back next week and contact you then LOL in my head I'm like who were you talking to in the back? If she wasn't there wouldn't you have known that beforehand being that it's the middle of the day. I didn't hear anything back for a couple weeks so I ended up emailing. They finally got back with me and were able to produce the pre-determination. Lo and behold. I was right covered at 100%. Something else I didn't like was that all of my appts always had to be moved which is ultimately why I decided just to find another office. There was even a time I went up to the office for my appt only to find out they were closed. We did have a storm that week and peoples power in the area were still coming back on. But when I called to ask why nobody called me they were at the Katy office. I live up the street so I wasn't too upset but I had taken the day off so I wasn't too happy about that. Then it kept happening. I understand asking a patient IF they can move their appointment but if it's a requirement every single time then I just take it you don't value my time and that's okay. Unfortunately, those warnings turned out to be absolutely right. For the past three years, Dr. Gray's office has consistently overcharged for routine procedures and added unnecessary services that insurance wouldn't cover--fluoride treatments for $50+, excessive x-rays, and more. Before the transition, I was never charged beyond my insurance coverage for standard bi-annual cleanings, but that changed immediately under Dr. Gray's practice. The only reason I stayed as long as I did was because my hygienist, Sandy, and Dr. Newman were still there. Both were professional, honest, and trustworthy--but they've now left the practice, which speaks volumes. On my last visit in February 2025, I was pressured to get additional x-rays despite recently having a panoramic x-ray (only needed every five years) and two sets of bitewings due to a recent root canal. When I questioned this, I was falsely told that I hadn't had x-rays since 2022. When I declined and explained I was only there for a routine cleaning, they claimed the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners wouldn't allow them to proceed without x-rays--an outright lie. Under Dr. O'Keefe, I was never forced into unnecessary x-rays. Frustrated by the dishonesty, I canceled my appointment and left. I was already fed up with the overcharging and deceptive practices, but what ultimately compelled me to write this review was discovering that they had the audacity to resubmit billing for my August 2024 root canal--despite the fact that I received no treatment that day. I was like dude it's 3 am, you just woke up..normally people are red when they first wake up. I didn't see the swelling at first. Even if I didn't see it at first. He's very in tune with his body and knows it best. We started calling emergency dentists about 6 am. Husband just pretty much walked into this place and they took him right away. Our son has had a tooth abscess before and it moved to under his eye, which could be deadly if the drainage went to his brain. Husband was rightfully paranoid and just wanted to know if it needed to be taken care of ASAP or would he be okay until he gets back to DFW. Long story short. Dr Huynh gave him pain meds and antibiotics. Told him he needed the tooth out soon or retreat of root canal, but nothing immediate.
