The ladies at the front desk were nice. My original appt was for 1pm but I called and Victor was able to get me in at 10 due to a cancellation. Keyona did my X-rays and was so nice and thorough, explaining everything and was so gentle. She had to keep putting that plastic piece in my mouth so I could bite down and she could capture the picture. This was the first time my mouth wasn't aggravated after that. Just her being thorough and taking her time. Dr. Batiste came in after and was everything! Very personable, impeccable chair side manner. Explained everything walked me through all my pictures and was very attentive. I never felt rushed. Jarell did my cleaning and was just as thorough. My teeth clean, clean . You can tell they run a tight ship and care about your teeth here. Now, the decor was everything! When you walk back to be serviced, you walk through glass doors and if not for the cleanings happening in each room, you almost forget its a dental office. The black and gold decor along with the black art on the walls just adds such a nice touch. After you pay, you go out a separate door which is right next to the front door. I wasn't expecting anything but really got a great experience. Also there's a tv jn front of you as you sit in the chair AND one above so you can watch tv as you're leaned back getting work done. I'm not sure why modern medicine, and dr. Appt visits are not this thorough. The devices and xray machines were so technologically advanced and quick! All appointments really should feel like this! And at no point did anyone disclose they were out of network--a crucial detail they conveniently omitted until I questioned their outrageous fees. The manager's smug response? "The doctor's fees are the doctor's fees." Translation: We charge whatever we want, take it or leave it. Sure, Dr. Perez may be a skilled dentist and the staff might be friendly--but let's be clear: friendliness doesn't excuse exploitative billing or deceptive business practices. That type of character and honesty is so rare, and I found it at Westchase Dentistry. I just had 2 root canals, versus Implants recommended by my Periodontist, I was told crowns were the next step. He explained that unfortunately I lacked enough tooth after the root canal to make the crown work for any great length of time. Wow, honestly! He said that the root canal plastic could last almost as long if I had the crowns and if I behaved and took care of my teeth and gums I could hopefully postpone the Implants that probably should have been done---which I did not want. I'm going to switch dentist and have my teeth cleaned at Westchase Dental from now on, that was I'll know that when I'm told something needs to be done I'll be confident it's necessary and not some sort of money grab.

They're located off the Katy Freeway near IKEA, on the south side between Wirt and Antoine. The office shares a parking lot with Memorial Tacos, a dry cleaner, and some boutique shops. The parking lot is spacious, so parking is never an issue. Inside, everything is spotless and modern. The front desk staff are always kind, competent, and welcoming. Their hygienists are amazing -- especially Shauna, who is both personable and incredibly skilled. And both Dr. Tran and Dr. Nguyen are outstanding. They're highly competent, never push unnecessary services, and take the time to explain everything clearly. I've been coming here for years, and they've redone a few old fillings from decades ago with excellent results. I always leave feeling confident in their work -- and with a nice little goody bag! The advice they've given me over the years has actually worked, and my dental health is better because of it. He doesn't care to make sure the patients are comfortable. He and his assistant laughed at my child's pain during a procedure he butchered. He performs procedures he's clearly not qualified to do. He left fragments of tooth in two areas after 2 wisdom teeth extractions. He didn't ask the patient to come back for a follow up. The areas got infected due in part because the sutures he used weren't dissolvable and were left there for more than 4 weeks. The issues were resolved elsewhere because we refuse to go back to this place. While he admitted to the mistakes, he refused to at the very least reimburse us for all the expenses we incurred, including having corrective procedures done elsewhere. I HIGHLY recommend you go somewhere else. Stay away from him.
