Do NOT bring your child to this practice. Since Dr. Andrew Carlson left, the quality of care has…read morecompletely collapsed. My son's experience in recent years was disgraceful. One practitioner failed to treat his illness and spoke to him with outright disrespect--completely unacceptable behavior from anyone, let alone a medical professional. Children deserve to be treated with care and dignity, and that was absolutely not the case here. On top of that, the front office staff is consistently rude and dismissive to parents. It's painfully clear they no longer care about their patients or their families. If your child's well-being matters to you, stay far away from this place.

I feel it is necessary to fully explain the one star review on this practice. Billing: they have…read moreno issues sending you a bill for a copay and not providing the service. My child had an apt canceled and they still billed his insurance (I only caught it when I got the bill for the copay in the mail). Staff: The front office staff is atrocious- no follow through, no call backs, no personality (terrible for working in a pediatric office). The physician we saw took 10 days to send in a prescription for my child who went a week without their medication. This physician also barely assesses the child when in the office: never measured head circumferences of my children when they were infants, no assessment on my last child who was there (point of care strep test + and thus treated the strep and never assessed him, just gave antibiotics), etc. If you are looking for good, thorough care for your child, this is not the place. I went against the advice of others I know who useD this practice and left b/c of the same issues, thinking it was close, convienent, and the pediatrician we were seeing was personable with kids. Don't make the same mistake I made - the kids deserve better care than what this practice can give.

NOT THE PLACE FOR A NEW MOM…read more This may be a great practice for someone who has a child who goes to the dr once a year for physicals and is old enough to know if they have a sore throat or if they have a headache. This place however is not a good fit for a new parent- even the calmest of them. I understand it is covid and that's been my hesitation in switching practices- I knew all offices all over were trying to adapt so I was patient. We're now a year into covid and my daughter is 9 months. She has yet to be seen for anything by them other than a physical. Everytime I have called them (which in honesty has been prob 3 occasions) for sick apts I have been referred to a walk in due to "covid precautions". our family had covid over a month ago and were all tested at a walk in and I decided to call the pedi office a couple days later when her test came back positive. I had to leave a message and received a call back a few hours later and then a call back a week later- both calls she just asked symptoms and I could hear her typing them. No contact from a dr, no paperwork or suggestions that could be mailed home, no guidance, and no reassurance from staff. I contacted them a week or so into it and said she had been pulling at her ears and was given antibiotic over the phone. 10 plus days later (were all back at work and school at this point and have been for a week) I call because the baby is now pulling at both ears and is miserable. I was told yet again to go to the walk in. The woman on the phone kept interrupting me and correcting me mixing up a call we had in dec when she started teething and was touching her ears with the last month of ear pulling. The woman I spoke with made statements like "well generally when an antibiotic doesn't work a parent calls us within 48 hours to let us know" first- she has a great attitude and we just had covid so I practiced patience and second she's been on a new antibiotic that the walk in told me I wouldn't see a turn around until about 3 days in- the way the woman kept phrasing things was "well generally a parent does this" Generally a child can be seen by a dr in an office with compassion but this is 2021 and covid. There's no need to shift blame onto the parent. ESP because I didn't start to loose my patience with this practice until this last week or 2. This story goes on and on but I recieved a release from this office in the mail today and according to the date the postage is stamped the office wasted no time in cancelling her future apts and closing out her chart while referring us to a walk in. Sorry but when I call you on a Monday and I have the release in my hand with a postage date of Tuesday- you still have no clue what is wrong with my daughter and haven't followed up with me re:the walk in visit but you sure were able to get the paperwork out quick to close out a chart. Seems like there's a lot of excuses to not have to adapt in this office. Skip over this place if you want good medical care with a dr who cares.

It is conveniently located in the heart of New Haven, Connecticut. In addition to 24/7 emergency room services for accidents and injuries, they specialize in treating more than 100 specialties. From neonatal care to cardiology, to diabetes and oncology, their specialists deal with children of all ages. Upon visiting a neighbor's child, the hospital seemed well organized, staffed, and the nurses showed a genuine concern for the welfare of their patients. Parking is accessible but difficult to access during high volume hours.

If your baby is taken into this children hospital as a "patient ", your child will become a client to them and 99% of probability your child will not make it alive, as they will treat your child as a plastic toy and they will break bones and neglect all they do for your child. Most of these nurses are not mothers and they careless about how they handle your beloved baby, don't leave your a baby alone, stay with your baby, sleep in the same room and you can take a shower, but don't leave the baby alone or you will regret because more likely they will harm you baby one way or another because that's what bring money on their table, don't trust what they tell you as they try to use you and confuse you.

We've had plenty of first time parent concerns and he's tackled them all super timely and with a way of explaining things that calms us and gives us more confidence every time. And we were amazed with Katie, the Lactation Consultant. she has decades of experience, she CHANGED our world!! we brought in our 5 day old baby and she completely turned me around with her knowledge base. I brought him in with me and nursed him with her help so that she could observe. She reframed so much of what the hospital told me generically and tailored it to me and our son based on how and what she saw. and she was spot on! he was happier, less frustrated and trusted me to read his cues correctly and get what he needed. it was an instant fix, I can't get enough of her!! She makes herself available by phone too if tou can't make it to her in person. She and Dr. Stephen are in this with you every step, honestly we couldn't have asked for more caring human beings to help guide us.
