I wanted to update my review. We've now been patients for 10 years (which is insane to think about). We have 3 children now that are seen by the doctors at Auerbach Pediatrics. We have dealt with so many childhood ailments with them and every time we feel seen and heard. As I mom I've cried in their office and received advice. We are welcomed by name when we go there. They feel like part of the family and I am forever grateful I found this office when I was pregnant with my first 10 years ago. read more

How funny that my review was deleted by Yelp after Dr. Auerbach commented himself with a rebuttal. So here's the details in length since Yelp advised I did not give proper details. I do not recommend this practice to any new parents, I have had nothing but terrible experiences with the practice from the day I stepped foot into their offices. Additionally, in my passings I've been told by other parents of similar horror experiences which haven't been documented. Here is why: The wait time to get into the room is about 15 minutes and then you can plan another 15 minutes before the doctor comes to see you. If you have an outstanding bill, be prepared to be slapped in the face the moment you walk in looking for payment on your next visit. Want to make another appointment? You'll have to call and do that yourself, front of office will never ask you and you will walk out of the office as if you never arrived. Forget even discussing your personal views of vaccines during pregnancy Dr. Auerbach has his own agenda and views he will try to throw into your face. Have a disability? Be prepared to be rudely asked about it, in a manner that makes grown people embarrassed. Want to seek a new office or leave, be warned Auerbach has eyes and ears on social media and will unprofessionally rebuttal to defend his honor through other social media members who engage in a game of telephone, he said she said. On top of that if that's not terrible in itself, the office manager will call to harass you about your posts and demand to know why you didn't call the office directly. And finally, if you are looking for guidance as a first time parent, forget that! You won't be guided or consulted, they will just send you on your merry way. read more

I was at this practice a long time. I had to switch eventually as he refused treatment of my son who had a mental health issue. I felt dumped as a patient because the wait times for psychiatrists in the area are long and he refused to write a letter for my son's IEP despite the fact that he diagnosed my son with ADHD. I totally get the fact that he wants my son to see a psychiatrist. But, given that I had called and was waiting for an appointment to open up, refusing to provide my son meds and a diagnosis letter for school left us in a total lurch. I called Southbury Pediatric Associates as their docs spend 1/2 their time in Waterbury. I figured as they have a more diverse patient population, their docs might be better versed in mental health issues. I wasn't wrong. I'm happy with my switch. My son is 19 now and doing great. read more

I don't have one negative thing to say about this practice and I am truly shocked at some of the negative reviews I have read. I went in for a meet and greet when I was pregnant, and was so impressed with Dr. Auerbach and his staff that I didn't even go anywhere else. I was pregnant with my first child, with complications. He couldn't have been any nicer and I have honestly never met a doctor who spends so much time answering questions and explaining things. My son ended up being born with an issue and had surgery at 2 days old, so needless to say when he came home from the hospital I called for any little thing. All the staff was so nice, never made me feel like a burden and I always got a call back. My son is now almost 5 months old and we have also seen Dr. Arena and Gina for well visits, both also just as caring and interested in answering all my questions and really spending time getting to know us. I also think we have seen 3 medical assistants or nurses and I can wholeheartedly say I am happy with whoever sees us before the doctor comes in!! my son had his first fever this past Sunday and I really felt bad calling on the weekend but Dr. Auerbach assured me that he did not mind one bit and spent a good 5 minutes at least talking to me. I feel like I would devastated if we ever had to go anywhere else!! read more

So far my wife and I (and newborn son) have been very happy with this office. We met with Dr. Auerbach for a consultation before choosing this practice and were very happy with his demeanor. He is honest and up front about his opinions but listened to ours when we differed. So far we have had three visits with Gina who is a lactation consultant as well as a APRN. She has been a life saver for my wife. Very kind woman and we have really enjoyed our time with her. Haven't met Dr. Arena yet but we hear nothing but good things. Our two month visit will be with her so I'll try to remember to update this. Finally, front office staff rocks. Great people so you will be quickly greeted by a friendly face. I'd recommend this office to friends and family so you should check them out. read more

We have been patients at this practice for over 10 years. My 3 boys and 1 girl have been seen for every possible reason, from well visits to sports physicals to sick visits to Lyme to Covid to flu. We have yet to have a bad experience with a single provider. Dr. Auerbach, Dr. Arena, Dr. Soriano and Allene Troy have all provided outstanding care to my kids. I have always been able to get a same day appointment and my kids are very comfortable with everyone from front office staff to the nurses to the doctors. I'm new to the area so I called the office to try and register my children with them. Right off the bat the receptionist asked how I felt about the vaccination. I immediately thought she was talking about Covid so I was confused. She said "no we are very strict with cdc vaccinations." I said oh yes my children are vaccinated and I do vaccinate. I wanted to be transparent so I said that with my first born I was a little more protective as a new parent and I chose to delay a few immunizations very slightly but he is almost up to date now. She immediately jumped and said "WELL we don't do that here. We do everything ON TIME." I said ok that's great my second born has had everything on time and she's due for her 15 month check up in august, I'd like to schedule her. She then asked about my son (first born) again. I said well since he is almost 5 I will continue him at our current office, get him all up to date before coming to your office (since you're so strict on not delaying anything) and when he turns 5 we will make the switch. I thought this was a perfect idea and I was being easy to work with and respecting their work ethics, I don't know.. apparently not..) because she then told me they don't want to do that and to keep my daughter where my son is and have them both switch over when he turns 5. Ok now this is frustrating. I explained to her that I'd like to start my daughter there now so that my daughter who is only 12 months gets to know her doctor rather than getting to know a doctor she will be soon be removed from... am I crazy? Good lord! I also said it will be a good time to get to know the office and practice and make sure we are a good fit (especially after this crazy phone screening by the receptionists). she then said a nurse will call me to talk and of course never did... There was also a bunch of stuff in between that Gave me the feeling they just really didn't want us as patients. (Let me remind you- all because of this vaccination question - which by the way should have never even been brought up by a receptionist. That's something to be discussed privately between patient and doctor/nurse) ... just all around weird. Another thing was that the phone line broke up and i was able to overhear her say "I don't know what's wrong with this person!" To someone else in the office. Nothing is wrong with me I'm just trying to schedule my daughter for a 15 month check up and you're making it impossible. I felt totally discriminated against for no reason by a receptionist and I'm still confused and mind boggled by these conversations. read more

I was referred to Auerbach Pediatrics by my sister. After hearing nothing but great things about Dr. Auerbach and the office I knew I wanted to see for myself! And let me tell you, I am so glad we did! When you first walk in you're greeted by a friendly office staff and a beautiful waiting room that includes a seperate section for sick children. The wait time in the waiting room all 5 times we have been here has been 10 minutes or less. There are coloring books, little toy riding cars for kids and a big, beautiful fish tank to keep them entertained during the wait. Our first visit to the office was with Gina, their APRN who also happens to be a lactation consultant (great bonus for breastfeeding mothers such as myself!) My three year old had a great visit, she was very attentive to my daughter as well as answering all my questions. She really took her time to ensure I had no concerns left when the appointment ended. Our second visit was for my younger daughters 4 month well visit. This time we saw Dr. Arena. She was very friendly and happily answered all of my questions. After our visit we hung back in the exam room so I could nurse my baby in private, which I appreciated so much. Not once did I ever feel rushed to hurry up and leave. The last three times we have been here has been for sick kids, these visits we saw Dr. Auerbach. He is an amazing pediatrician and reminds me so much of the one I had growing up. You can tell he really enjoys what he does and loves working with children. Even while sick, my toddler loves coming here, she gets to sit on the big fire truck exam table and color on the paper during the visit. We no longer dread going to see the doctor! I recommend Auerbach Pediatrics to every parent looking for a pediatrician or looking to switch! read more

Dr. Auerbach is very professional but there we multiple times they didn't have my children's vaccination information. They tried to give my daughter the same vaccine twice. Charged us for appointments they scheduled incorrectly. We made the switch to Dr. Nowacki and have been so pleased. Wish we would of made the change earlier. read more

Let me start by saying if you have an appointment you can expect to wait a minimum of 30 minutes, usually closer to 45. Plus Dr Auerbach will do your initial visit and then you will NEVER see him again, he pawns you off to the other doctors. Dr Arena is completely incompetent. My 1 year old son has been sick for 2 weeks because the antibiotics they gave him were doing nothing, and then the other night broke out in a huge rash all over his body. I called in a panic, and the girl who picks up said everyone was busy and I would get a call back at their convenience. I said that wasn't acceptable. She couldn't of been more rude. So a nurse got on and didn't have any idea what to do, and just seemed completely uneducated. I finally get a call back from Dr Auerbach, and he tells me to give Bendryl and monitor, and he didn't believe it was a reaction to the new antibiotics. Also, stated the LAST thing we wanted to do was start a new antibiotic. The next day We bring my son to "Dr" Arena, and she asked me the same question 5 times, I gave the same answer 5 times and then she wondered why i was getting frustrated. (We spoke on the phone since I wasn't present, to dispute what "Dr. Richard says below) So after we figure out the my son has Roseola, she says there is NOTHING she can do. BUT for some reason she provides us with a new antibiotic for no reason. Even after Dr Auerbach said that would be a horrible idea the day before. The second round we were on was working fine. She was obviously just trying to push more drugs, and put more money in their pocket. So we switched Doctors after all of this, and when my sons mother went to pick up the paperwork, Dr. Auerbach and the rest of the group couldn't of been more rude. I will never bring my son back here, and I wouldn't recommend you do either. UPDATE: I went to another doctor and my son does not have roseola or even an ear ache. He was simply allergic to the antibiotics these Horrible doctors put him on. I couldn't be more disgusted that they would put a 1 year old at risk to make money from prescriptions. All I have to do is take him off the antibiotics and give him Benadryl. Stay far away from these "Doctors" 3 months later and I'm actually so happy this all happened, we are with a real doctor now! Not these uneducated, money hungry scummy doctors. ANOTHER UPDATE. I saw the Richards response and Obviously the "doctor" is trying to say none of this happened. Bottom line he fed my child antibiotics, and are so unbelievable uneducated to realize it was an allergic reaction to the pills they were pushing on my 1 year old. Just absolutely disgusting the amount of pills they tried to push on my little man. Richard and his staff are a COMPLETE joke, and Its just disturbing that someone who practices medicine could be so uneducated. read more
