This place needs to shut down so they make all the repairs necessary. Fairway grass was high. Looks like hogs have rutted it up. Several of the greens hardly had grass. It's a shame this could be a nice place to play but the owners have neglected the course. I don't think I'll be coming back here. read more

I've played this course several times in the last few years, and while it's always been a rural-type course - a little choppy on the fairways, mediocre greens - today was absolutely horrible. I've played courses that were nothing but closely-mowed cow pastures, but this was, without a doubt, the worst golf course I've ever seen, much less paid to play on. The greens had apparently been aerated recently, which everyone understands has to been done occasionally. But there wasn't enough sand applied afterwards (there were empty holes all over most of the greens), and what sand there was didn't seem to have been watered in, and there was no sign that they had been rolled afterwards. It was like putting on worn asphalt. And besides the terrible conditions, there were four holes designated Cart Path Only, for some reason known only to the management. Three of the four had no visible grass growing on the fairways, so it's a mystery what they were trying to protect from the carts. Also, the first six holes we played, there was a guy moving along in front of us mowing greens. (We were playing a league tournament.) He kept right on mowing while players were on the green putting, and when players were waiting to hit to the green, he'd pull the pin so he could mow that area. I've never seen anything so ridiculous on a golf course. And, to top it all off, they've installed GPS nanny systems on their carts, to keep players from driving into restricted areas. No telling how much that cost, but it's a shame they chose to spend money on that, rather than new range balls, or better course maintenance. (The last course I used to play often that installed this nanny tech is one I no longer consider - and that's the only reason.) I used to enjoy this course, but I doubt if I'll be back. read more

This course neglects it's patrons in the worst way. Our 17 year old practices here with the high school. The high school pays more than what the course is worth. On top of this, the owner, has a rule that high school students aren't allowed inside the clubhouse because they stand and talk in front of the tv. Pam, the lady at the desk, told our student that the patio was covered and there plenty of tables for him to sit at. Today's high might no have been triple digits, but the heat index was close to that. It is unacceptable treatment, regardless of who the patron is. We live in Texas and have experienced record levels of heat for three months. This is the worst kind of service. read more

Don't waste your time or money. I wouldn't pay $10 to play here again. This course is basically unplayable. The tee boxes are full of weeds and pot holes. The fairways are the same. The greens are either full of weeds and sand or the grass is so thick the ball won't roll. maybe a 3 on a stimpmeter I spoke with the general manager today and this is what he said. "I'm a 3 handicap, and I travel all over texas, and this course is one of the BEST IN THE STATE." What a joke. If you play anywhere locally you know that this guy is in serious denial or just plain crazy. Maybe his low handicap is an indication that he should spend more time managing this course and its condition and less on his game. Don't waste your time or your money. read more

Beautiful day, tee time 1:00pm and upon arrival there are no carts available! Over 100 players booked after 1:00 with extremely limited Cart availability! What happened to this course? I played here 4 times in late 2020. Played on 8/7/2021 and holy crap I will NEVER come back. What a joke of a facility, and course for $56. I want to puke at the fact that we paid that. Course is destroyed. Lawmaking water everywhere out of pipes and sprinkler heads. Fairway grass is LONG and super patchy. Greens were a joke. Tee boxes were atrocious! Still no water out on the course... Very embarrassing establishment. Will never return. I play golf twice a week, every week in the greater Houston area. Really nice track but horribly maintained and in poor condition. Many holes had the tee boxes all grouped together (tips through reds). Nanny restricters on the cart we're irritating because there were no warnings for the restricted areas. With some investment, this course could be a great track. The constant Unfortunately, our foursome paid full Saturday rate with no warning or apology of the poor playing conditions - that resulted in more head scratching. Still not sure what I thought about the constant Gun fire yet - was like a WWII battlefield for sure. read more

I have played this course many times over the past 5 years as it is one of few alternatives available to those who are not one percenters. Believe it or not, the course has improved somewhat. They reconfigured the holes where number1 was number 10 and number 10 was number one. Prepare for a hell of a hike if they are out of carts. Same hike to the practice area. The place is shabby and in poor condition despite some indices of improvement. The ultimate crap show occurred at my last visit to the snack bar, where my friend and I had a beer or two. The gal mixed up our glasses vs. giving us fresh ones. So much for Covid! The best thing I can say about this place is that the land area is beautiful as are the surrounding homes. Too bad the local residents don't show more interest in their home course. I will still play there in desperation for a tee time. read more

This course wants everyone to have a heat stroke or pay $2 for a bottle of water. We got harassed for bringing drinks onto the course (one bottle of water each) since it's against their rules to bring any kind of food and drink at all on their course. They also removed all of their water jugs from every water station throughout the course. Also, we were out there for 3 hours and never saw the drink/snack cart come by, so you either have to go all the way back to the clubhouse for an overpriced bottle of water, stock up on an excess of overpriced water, have a heat stroke, or just golf at any other course in Texas that supplies water every 2-3 holes. I'm fine with crazy rules like no water on the golf course unless it's overpriced from us, but don't chase us down and harass us because we brought one bottle of water. read more

If I could give them no stars I would. My husband works super hard last year he had 1 day off ONE and that wasn't even Christmas. For Christmas my kids went in together to get him a gift certificate to play here, thing is when he went to use it 2 Sunday's ago he's was told due to new management gift certificates were on hold and not honored. What a load of shit. The money isn't the issue it's the entire principle of the management that knew they were leaving still sold certificates knowing they were leaving and new management throwing a hissy fit to honor something I mean what does a round of damn golf cost them? Instead of honoring it they would rather have this nasty review for everyone to see and hopefully keep others from going there. So I shall leave this same review once a Week until they honor the $100 gift certificate my kids purchased for their dad for Christmas or this 1 star review shall be all that shows up! They should've thought about how honoring it could've gotten them a great review instead!!!!! read more

My Wife and I just finished playing here for the first time having picked up a deal on golf now! I was weary given 2*ratings but hey why not! $70 for 2 was reasonable I thought... The Good - staff in kitchen were friendly and carts were good ....hmm The Bad - greens were pretty horrendous We waited on pretty much every shot on back 9 because of retired 70 somethings who play slow and show little golf etiquette. If you hit it off fairway forget finding ball or risk at own peril with snakes! Can't say we will be back anytime soon - 4.30hrs for 2 some on Tuesday afternoon is no fun. I would give this course zero stars if available. Claire was very rude & actually yelled at me for bringing my 4 month old puppy. When we have brought him golfing on many occasions at other courses. It is understandable that different courses will have different rules. But it's never acceptable to be treated the way Claire handled the situation. Do NOT spend your money here. $25 to play is still the biggest rip off. They should pay you to play here. It literally looks abandoned. Greens are worse than you can imagine and covered in sand. Tee boxes are overgrown as well as the bushes in front of them so you can't even see where your ball lands even if you find the fairway. The fairways are pretty much rock hard, you could MAYBE take a foot wedge and find a patch of grass every 20ft or so. I am not a championship course golfer with high expectations, and this was the worst course I have ever seen/played. Save your time and money read more

Do not recommend this golf course. As soon as we payed, the workers were condescending and rude. Members were not accepting of paying guests and complained about us parking over the red pole, when we were in fact, parked in a perfectly legal/allowed spot. Tee boxes were rough and sandy with no smooth spots to tee off. Fairways were uncut with high grass. Greens played very slow with tons of divots and sand. There were hog ruts all throughout the course, making some spots unplayable. Located right next to a shooting range, we could not enjoy our game in peace without hearing constant shots. Price isn't too expensive, but all in all, I would not come back to this course read more

Alright let's get started. I came in from Indiana and my gf had a wedding she was a part of so I had a day to myself so thought hey golf would be perfect. Made a tee time for 9:22am got there at 9:10 to check in and found out the owner for some reason changed my tee time to 9am without even calling me. The rental clubs were a joke. Literally my 9s grip was fury from it being so old. Originally was gonna charge me 35 to rent !! Luckily the guy running the pro shop had a conscience and didn't charge me. (He's the best thing about the course, and I feel bad for him.) started playing and course is an absolute garbage can. Also they over booked, so by hole 10 it was about a 15 minute wait to hit each time. I gave up at hole 12 because I was almost three hours in and was just a single golfer!! Save your money and hell go play a putt putt course you'll have more fun than golfing here. read more

So apparently this place in under new ownership, and I haven't yet played since the change, but don't plan on ever giving this place my business again.... I won a silent auction item around the holidays which included a golf for 4 with a cart (limited Monday-Thursday). Was planning to host some clients on Tuesday and called to make my tee time. It was then that I was informed of the ownership change and the employee (who actually was the only good part of this experience) said he needed to check with the new owner to see if my certificate would be honored. He took my number and said he would call me back. At this point I'm thinking employee just being cautious, but surely the new ownership would honor the certificate. WELL, I WAS WRONG! The employee called back and indicated that it wouldn't be honored. At $32 per person he wouldn't honor a $128 certificate. I would have likely spent more than that on food and drink during our round. I understand the new ownership doesn't have an obligation to honor it, but this just seems like bad business practice. Not only have they missed out on the extra money I would have spent, they will also be missing out on any future business. Simply honoring the certificate would have given them goodwill with me, but instead I plan on telling anyone who will listen not to give this place any business. read more

Played West Fork again yesterday. It's in pretty good condition for winter golf. The greens were fast, but a little bumpy. As with many golf courses in this price range, you will not find pristine conditions, with a bigger maintenance budget, it could be better. That could be said about many though. So, don't expect it. The layout is interesting and gives you opportunity to work the ball on a few holes, while having some elevation changes, water and bunkers to deal with along the way. But overall being pretty straightforward. So, decent golf at a decent price. 3.5 stars. read more

The course is in terrible shape, the course Marshall also gave us a really rough time and took his job way too seriously (didn't do anything wrong, was just a jerk). Besides that the course is way overpriced at $50 for 18 especially given the condition of the course and the pace of play. I would highly recommend to go to any other courses around this area as you'll get much more bang for your buck and probably have a better customer experience. read more

Horrible course!! I hate leaving such bad reviews but this course is really letting itself go. If you look on golfnow.com, besides myself, many people complain about the pace. When I say pace, today, I played and had to skip 4 holes because 70+ year old guys in 4somes would not let me play through, as a single! I called the pro-shop and the guy said to "skip them and come back to play that hole." Seriously? I'm going to finish 18, then go cut in front of other people to finish playing 4 holes? You have to be kidding. NO MARSHAL!!! On the 15th hole, it was the last straw......I ended up behind a 5some!!! I played 2 SLOW holes behind them and finally on 17 skipped them for my 4th skipped hole of the day!! None of these groups allowed me to go through, I would just play around them. I told the 5some, "you need to let a single go through," which they snapped back and told me that there were 2 other 5somes in front of them, all their friends, and I should deal with it!! Needless to say I got on the 18th hole, pissed off, and no one was even in the fairway!!! I called the pro-shop twice and not once was anyone sent out on the course to deal with the situation. This course is almost to Lake Conroe so it's a trek from Houston, especially with morning traffic. This was the third time I've played here and I could tell the last time that this course was beginning to be over crowded with elderly people (just being honest, 70+ yr old golfers). There are to many courses in Houston to play that do not allow this type of crap to go on. I do not, at all, recommend this course. In regards to conditions, the tee boxes were horrible, greens looked like they hadn't been cut in a few days (incredibly slow!), and most of the bunkers were in horrible condition. read more

Fun course, but the pace of play is HORRIBLE! Wasn't able to finish and I was playing as a single. Constant foursomes and fivesomes after the pro shop told me it was wide open just like last time. The worst part was other groups and players jumping holes and skipping me out of nowhere to further clog up the course. How about you have guys learn to manage pace of play so golfers can enjoy a round of golf. read more

We took our kids to play here and the Marshall told us it "was not a playground". We were very concious about keeping up the pace of play and letting people play through. The course close by recently closed and you would think that they would be a bit more interested in gaining or keeping customers. read more

We called early in the day to setup a tee time at 6 PM. We told the guy that we might be running slightly late due to traffic leaving work. He said no problem, and to get there whenever we can. We left immediately after work and got there at 6:06 pm. The guy not only wouldn't let us play the round, he didn't have the decency to OPEN THE DOOR AND TALK TO US. We literally argued with him for over 15 minutes through a glass door. He said that the computer that takes payments turns off after 6, and he was "unable" (aka too lazy) to turn it back on. He gave us a bucket of balls to go hit on the range as a substitute. I'm not quite sure how the course is because we didn't get to play on it, but the service is miserable. read more
