    Swerve wants to play golf.
    Thang N.

My most frequented golf course due to location and price. It's only 15 minutes from home and the green fees are middle of the road. The course itself is an open layout without an overwhelming amount of trees, sand traps, and water hazards. They also have some short par 4s and 5s for chances at ego boosting birdies including #17 which can be reached in one shot. Par 3 #6 sometimes has a person taking wagers for hitting the green with your tee shot. You can wager $5-$200. The overall condition of the fairways and greens are very good considering the price point. I haven't had any problems with slow play at this course so the marshals probably do a good job of keeping us hackers at a good pace. I believe the business website and other sites have coupons every now and then for lower green fees so keep an eye out.

#17, not a good spot to be.

They overbook their tee times, it's always backed up. Too expensive to for a 6 hour round it's ridiculous.

Pretty nice course but minimum 5 hour round on the weekend. Way overbooked. But other than that can't really complain .

I took a visiting friend of mine to play 18 at the Cypress golf course this past weekend on 4/11/26…read moreand I was not impressed at all with the price and the condition the greens were in. It was our first time there, too. We are pretty avid golfers. Check in process: didn't take too long. Older gentleman at the counter was nice. I was not aware that the clubhouse was under construction so there was a lot of construction going on with noise and mud all over. Pretty annoyed already as a start. There's no mention of this on their website either. Driving range: it's about a 4-5 min drive by golf cart from the "temporary" clubhouse. Once arrived, you have to head over to a self dispensing ball machine to collect your balls. This was not very clear or given to us as instructions at check in so we wasted about 10 mins trying to find out where to get balls from. Hitting from mats since it had rained the past few days. Mats were decent. There's a couple of distance markers out there as well. The course: we played Cypresswood course which was the lower priced one at $72 per person. The course design itself is elegant and isolated away from homes which is a nice touch. However, those greens were absolute horrific. For the price I paid, those greens should be nicely kept up with. There's no reason why they should have patches, dry spots, and grainy grass in them. This is very upsetting as it makes the game of golf certainly more challenging but doesn't make for a fun experience. This course definitely needs more maintenance if I'm going to be paying over $70 to play 18 holes here. About 3-4 holes out of 18 were in great condition, other ones were terrible. We never saw the cart girl. There are no restroom stalls in the course or even porta potty's, you have to go back to the clubhouse to use restroom which is a pain in the arse. The pace of the game was also very slow and ended up pairing with a twosome behind us. It took well over 5 hours to play 18 holes. Ridiculous. I think this course has a lot of upside potential. I don't think I'll be returning until the new clubhouse and construction is done which they claim should end towards end of summer this year. The layout of the course was nice and very scenic but greens were awful.

They have a temporary building for the pro shop and food. They do have some clothing for sale and the usual items (balls, etc) Unfortunately the women's restroom could use a bit of a clean but it was better than the portapottys available on the course. When we checked in we weren't given any info about how the construction influenced the course and were late to our tee time (apparently we were starting in hole 10 instead of 1) Driving range: The driving range is a bit far from the only playable course . The course next to the range is closed for construction. They do have an automatic ball dispensing machine which was neat The driving range itself was quite rough. The area you sand within was sandy and full of divots making practice a challenge. Course: The course itself was quite beautiful. There were a lot of trees and it's refreshing to play without being surrounded by homes. I also appreciated that at a lot of the holes there were ice cold towels ! Unfortunately the serenity of the golf course was frequently cut by construction noise Overall a fine course and I imagine it'll be amazing once all the work is done. I don't think I'll be back before that though

Just as the owner promised the club was ready and in perfect shape and the person who ordered it was phenomenally happy. While we were waiting for the final fitting, however I had breakfast as did the person I brought along with me and the breakfast was really, really wonderful and very much unexpected. Not because I would purposely order bad food, but I wouldn't expect that in a facility that is a golf club fitting facility that the food would be so good but it truly was. Plus in the best of my recollection. I had a couple bloody Mary mixed drinks, which were exceptional as was the table service. I've heard amazing things about the people who have gone to be fitted with clubs from this facility and I will likely do so myself as I replace my clubs, but for the short term consider this an evaluation of their food, which was an omelette as I recollect, and it was exceptional as was the service as was, the facility as a whole.

The clubhouse was nice. I loved the white and black decor. The cart rental was $27. Meh. My husband walked the front 9 and had over 12,000 steps so you can tell, the holes are pretty spaced out. When going with a little kid, having a cart wasn't terrible so we weren't trailing behind so much. Driving range and chipping and putting green were open and in good condition. Loved that they were RIGHT THERE and not a hike away. The course itself was pretty nice. The fairways and greens were well taken care of. Some of the cart paths could use some work, they're broken and cracked. Some reader weren't sure if they were marked out of bounds or not. We'd see a red stake but no other stake... so is it out or not??? Bunkers were not ranked and hard as a rock. Of course the bunker our kid hit into didn't have a rack available since we were able to pick it up, rake and drop. (Ugh) There were workers draining some bunkers that had turned to swimming pools. The front 9 were a bit challenging to our 8 year old. He took a 50 but had some sh*t shots. My husband wants to come back and play all 18. So we'll definitely be back! 5-star for being just plain unique and a fun experience.

We have been coming to Highland Pines every monday for the past month. We start the morning off with breakfast tacos inside, we buy drinks from the beverage cart girl the entire time we are out there, and always go in for beverages and lunch afterwards!! I do not play golf and I am still learning how to play which is why I shy away from playing at courses I am unfamiliar with. I am scared I will slow people down. I would NOT recommend EVER coming to Highland Pines Golf Course and spending your money because of the poorly and unsettling way the staff in the pro-shop treats you and makes you feel! My boyfriend calls ahead every monday morning before we come to let them know that he will have a rider and they say that it's OK until you walk in and they say every time "for future reference riders are not allowed" as they press a "rider" button and charge a $30 fee. Obviously if you have the button on your computer and we've been doing it for the past month, it is allowed. I have been working at a private golf course for three years and we would NEVER make anyone feel this way whenever they come in. They have told us multiple times to call ahead and make sure it's not a busy day (which we completely understand) and we do that every single time!! Every single monday they have multiple LINES of golf carts in their barn and I see it every time we finish up. I hate the way that they make me feel and the way I am treated everytime I walk into the pro-shop! The pro-shop staff is extremely rude and unfriendly and they are overall unwelcoming!! I've never felt this way or been treated this way anywhere else I have gone and I KNOW I do not deserve this treatment!! The unprofessionalism of the pro-shop staff is mind blowing and I would much rather take my $130 and go spend it somewhere else where I'm treated kindly and professionally!! It's not hard to have some class, especially whenever you are working at a nice golf course like this! Besides the pro-shop staff, I always have an amazing time here and the food and beverage staff is amazing, but they manage to ruin it EVERY single time! There is a right and wrong way to go about these situations and their pro-shop staff manages to go about it in the wrong way every time!! DO NOT BOTHER SPENDING YOUR MONEY AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!!!!! For anyone wondering KYLE WILLIAMS in the pro-shop was the man who treated me so poorly and disrespectfully!!

As of this review, Feb of 2024, this course has faster greens than some PGA tournaments…read more A very dangerous course that reminds me of Falcon point in Katy, with lots of water and bunkers. The unfortunately offline shots snaps you awake from the dreamy landscape and the gorgeous shore lines that your ball just skipped over. Tentative poke of the putter, as you try to time your attempt before a gust of wind moves the ball. It is more of combined punishment from flop shots that still rolls out too much, and down hill putts that just keeps on going. Maybe I am not a smart man, I kinda enjoyed it. Those moments when you take one look back at the green as you walk away, the feeling of satisfaction of completing something hard. And the next tee box, where nature is so perfectly groomed in to mimic an Ansel Adams national park lookout. But it has some flaws. The rows of starter homes squeezed tightly like bento boxes next to some holes serves to remind you of the corporate decisions that had to be made. The construction noise and smoldering wood piles near by hints at the disappearing of most of the magnificent tree lines in the near future. As of now, this is in the top 5 courses I have played in Houston. Good job to the Pines golf group.
