My 2 chickens have been going to West End Peds for 3.5 and 1.5 years now. It only seemed fitting to take my kids here since it's where I went as a kid 25 years ago! We've never, not once, ever had any problems. Even with a special needs child who has epilepsy, Lucy has always been there for us. She's been nothing but patient with me and all of my ridiculous, random questions. If there's anything she doesn't know the answer to, she researches or asks her fellow coworkers and always gets back to me. She even once skipped her lunch for me to bring my (at that time) 1 year old in for an emergency fecal impaction removal...like, come on...if that doesn't scream dedication, I don't know what would. Not only is Lucy amazing, but the front office staff and nurses are incredible as well. Shameka and Jasmine never fail to put a smile on our faces when we visit, even when it's a sick or emergency visit. I always feel like I'm walking in to hang out with some friends when either of those women are assigned to helping us that day. They're both hilarious and wonderful nurses to interact with and i can tell they genuinely care about my babies. To end my love note review...10/10 recommend West End Peds! I love west end pediatrics. I have to pediatricians I bring my daughter to, and when she was born she developed a strange bubbling/brushing mark on her arm that really scared me. Our doctor at West End was able to clearly identify it, as other professionals could not. He explained how our birthing process caused this alarming mark and when it would go away, and was precisely accurate! This office and it's doctors had also been respectful to alternative health measures I have chosen (although not popular) to take with my baby girl. They are respectful of my wishes and always get us in extremely quick. I've had emergency visits due to high fevers, and I'm a new mom and don't know what to expect with my new baby, and they always see us within a short amount of time. I'm very pleased. The staff is very sweet and caring. They really try to connect with my daughter and I appreciate that so much. read more

As new parents, it's important that we have a pediatrician we can trust. We found that in West End Pediatrics. Our daughter has seen both Dr. Iwashyna and Dr. Dawson; both have been exceptional in their field. Appointments are easy to make and I never feel rushed during them. We primarily see Dr. Iwashyna and appreciate the guidance and care he gives. It doesn't matter if I ask 100 questions, Dr. I takes the time to explain the answer. Within the first 2 weeks of getting to know this practice, I had a health scare related to delivery. I was thoroughly impressed with how Dr. Dawson recommended care for me, even though I am not a patient of the practice, and how Dr. Iwashyna followed up with me to make sure I took the recommendations seriously. Both providers went above and beyond for me and that is something I will always be grateful for! read more

We love West End Pediatrics! My siblings and I are all college students now and have been going to West End Pediatrics our entire lives. We absolutely love Lucy, Tiffany, and Jessica and the nurses and staff are always super friendly and helpful! From routine checkups to ADHD medication management to emergency/sick visits, we always have positive experiences and are continually impressed by the level of care provided. Lucy is my main provider and I always feel so comfortable talking with her openly and honestly about any health concerns and she always takes the time to ask and answer questions without making me feel awkward or rushed. I've also been seen by Tiffany and Jessica and have only had amazing experiences with them too -- 10/10 highly recommend West End Pediatrics to anyone looking for an exceptionally caring practice! read more

We have used West End Pediatrics for the past 23 years. Words cannot describe the level of professionalism, empathy, support, and care our children have received over those years. The entire staff is friendly and helpful and we have NEVER had to wait to schedule and appointment, see a physician, or receive a return or follow up phone call. The physicians treat both parents and patients appropriately as everyone matures and it is a very safe space to discuss physical as well as emotional or mental health issues. We have gone through everything from routine physicals to injuries to hospitalizations with this practice and would not have wanted ANY other physicians treating our children or helping our family. Our family loves everyone at West End Pediatrics. Our almost 4 year old daughter actually enjoys going to the doctor and in more than one occasion, has asked to go visit Dr. Dawson just for fun! We have never waited in the waiting room/car for more than 4 minutes and never waited more than 5-7 minutes in the exam room. But I never feel rushed and always feel like my concerns are heard. The office staff is also always kind, caring, and compassionate. We also love the nurses. I feel so cared for when they called several times to check in after my daughter suffered a traumatic hand injury that required a hospital stay and surgery. OBSESSED w/ West End Pediatrics. I am in love w/ my daughter's ped, Tiffany. Our daughter Marley also loves seeing her too. Tiffany has a TONNN of NICU experience, which is completely obvious by the way she treats you & your child. Tiffany makes me feel in control, confident, & loved - yet, she never sugar coats anything, which is absolutely perfect for us. She is the most caring individual, she is the calm in the chaos when your anxiety is through the roof regarding any issue w/ your child. Dr Myers was an absolute gem to us! We are no longer in the Richmond area, but I truly wish we were simply to receive the type of care and compassion that we received here. I always felt that we received honest, genuine care for my daughter here. Being a new single mom, the doctor took the time to sit down after each appointment to ASK and answer important questions a new mom might not understand or think about. As a 1st time mom i had so many ( maybe too many ) questions all about taking care of a newborn. Tiffany was so great and patient, taking the time to explain and making sure that we and the baby feel comfortable. She is also a lactation consultant which is a big plus ! They even gave me 3 days worth of formula samples because i was on medication and couldn't breastfeed. They accept Medicaid and other insurances. The other staff are very and welcoming too. I have always had a positive experience with West end pediatrics since my daughter was born, and I have been visiting them for the past 3.5years. It is a small and cute facility with very responsive nurses and doctors and have never had any issues with setting up appointments. Even during Covid , the center has taken good safety measures visiting patients at the parking lot unless it is really necessary to be inside the facility. I really like Dr. Dawson . read more

West End Pediatrics has been my primary care doctor since I was a baby. They have always been respectful, helpful and informative for every reason I have had to go in. The doctors are very smart and personable! Great place to bring your children and let them grow up with a comfortable doctor just like I have. We have seen all of the Dr.'s in this practice for various illnesses/emergencies, regulary seeing Dr. Dawson. We find them ALL to be accessible, empathetic, warm and caring. As a first-time mom, they were always available, day or night, with questions and never made us feel as if we were overreacting to any situation. All of them have been great to work with. We've been with WEP since my son was born. Since he is now 18 we considered moving on from a pediatrician's office but really like Dr. Dawson and will stick around for a couple more years. Dr. Dawson has a wonderful manner and gentle way of communicating with my son who is on the Autism Spectrum. Doctor Dawson does not know basic flu knowledge and told patients theyre not contagious when they still are. office managers just defend his wrong doings instead of helping patients. If you're looking for a Doctor at west end pediatrics, do not go to doctor Dawson, he does not know what he's doing And will probably get your whole family infected instead. read more

Dr. Dawson has been my son's pediatrician for years and we just LOVE him! He listens and is very attentive, conscientious, and knowledgeable.
