This is a great pediatric practice if you're all about shoving medicine down your kids throat…read more These people were our doctors for 12 years (how I made it that long is beyond me). We would only use them if we had an absolute need (strep throat, small pox, etc) and for an occasional "well-check". I should have prefaced this with, I'm not a big western medicine fan. I use it only as needed and am of a rather firm belief that synthetic medicinals are highly abused and kids are insanely over medicated. So I refuse to be part of the craze. When my daughter was 17 and all of her friends were getting high on their adhd-meds, she google-convinced herself that she had the disorder and proceeded to make an appointment for herself at this pediatric facility. Not only did they "diagnose" her with adhd (even after having seen her most of her life and never noting anything of the sort in her and never hearing from me or contacting me for consult), they prescribed her a controlled substance on the spot. I only found out because our pharmacy called the number on file (mine) to inform that the Rx was ready. I immediately called the doctor out and told her I was writing a letter to the board as I believed her actions were illegal since my daughter was underage. When my son presented with an inherited form of panic-disorder, not only would they not listen to my expertise on the topic (educationally trained in child-psychology and neuro-biology), they immediately jumped to medication as the answer. When I told them I wanted other suggestions first, they looked at me like I was green (I was not green that day). The battle with the panic would go on for a while before we tried medicines. When, after a year, the medicine had my son rather comatose, the doc said it was time for an increase in dose... not changing it, not weaning him, not asking anymore questions. The final straw was when I asked them to sign a form that allowed us all to work with the school and other natural doctors for my sons panic and they refused. My hope was that he could stay enrolled while we sorted out the best natural path for him. We had several specialists on hand and all we needed was his pediatrician to show support. They, instead, insisted he be in counseling and on anti-depressants (protocol, robot, blanket answer with zero depth) or they wouldn't sign. They did, however, say they would research my methods, discuss with colleagues, and call me with some options -- but they never did. The elongation of our battle, due in part to their refusal & lag, resulted in my son being withdrawn from school by the school (another one star review coming up). We have since changed our pediatrician and are getting proper help.

We have had a wonderful experience with Dr. Kancitis, Mandy and the staff. Dr. Kancitis is so…read moreknowledgeable and kind. She spends a good amount of time discussing your child's development and growth. Her positive attitude during our infant well checks was and is super nice - she ends each appointment with "you're doing great, mom and dad!". Raising babies has been hard during the pandemic, and with all the pediatric recommendations that change so frequently - but she keeps up with the most current APA recommendations, and she always knows how to handle any question we have. She also identified that both our children were dairy and soy intolerant, and helped me to get on a dairy free soy free diet while I was nursing. It helped our babies temperaments so much and they started sleeping through the night. It was magical.
