One of those places you just want to like, but seems like the "concept" takes precedence over what actually works. Stopped for late brunch after a but of riding. It's counter service, but the menu is hanging on hooks by the door. The drinks are canned and bottled variety of"self serve,"except for the oj. Seating is limited. There was one tall table or a couch to sit on inside due to one larger group, the the table was awkward and the coffee table in front of the couch had dirty plates. Ordered and paid, immediately requested a tip through the tablet. Lowest option is 18%, unless customized. Don't want to feel cheap so ok. The breakfast burrito was tasty with the side sauce, but the boiled potatoes were too firm, and too big, messy to eat without silverware. However, it was served on a small steel tray with brown paper. I tried to be careful with the knife and fork, but still ended up with my last bite having paper in it. Burrito = 5 stars, even with the undercooked potatoes. -1 star for needing to be trained how to place an order, requiring tip for sub par service. -1 star for not using actual plates, eating paper. I wonder if my water glass was actually clean. Could probably lose another star but don't want to be a jerk about it. Would like to support new and quirky dining combinations, but this place definitely has room to grow. The fish sandwich is the and the falafels are the best I've ever had..and I'm Greek! This will definitely be somewhere I come back to quite often. What a treasure ~ My wife and I spent several years in Asheville, considered to have top billing by many "foodies", and I must say West End Kitchen topped every place we ate at in the Asheville area! Outstanding, outstanding, outstanding!! The decor was very tasteful, I had to restrain myself from perusing the art on the walls! It was just as delicious as the food. And.... the food was exquisitely heavenly if I can say that! The "fork tender" Chicken Piccata was so perfect in the cream cheese white wine sauce with capers, it felt so delightful in my mouth. Wow! I could go on and on, will be back, OFTEN!!! And let's not forget our server Kevin, his genuine and enthusiastic energy was contagious, I could tell he loved serving almost as much as I enjoyed the whole experience. WOW - incredible food, with sauces that are rich and flavorful and perfectly complementary to the meal. A really fun and creative menu with so many tempting options we couldn't decide what to order. The lobster beignets are heaven, the lobster mac-n-cheese is the best I've ever eaten, the smashburger.... omg... we could really taste the quality of the beef. Wonderful first experience at this cozy restaurant. They have great service with accommodating staff that catered to our needs. We each got different dishes and were pleased with the flavor and could taste how fresh the food was and that it was prepared with love. They did have room temp tap water. Our waitress was exceptional and offered us homemade strawberry jam that's to die for. We also got two deserts: blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream and the marble cheesecake. Only critique I have is that the cobbler was nuked in the microwave and would have been better in the oven. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and would recommend to anyone! read more

Nice mix of starters and mains which made sense and went together; something that a lot of restaurants fail to achieve. The items we ordered were delicious. The desserts are to die for. We had the budino and the pot de creme and they were two of the best desserts we ever had. One thing that can be improved is the ventilation. I have been driving past this building for years and finally met a friend for lunch. What a delightful afternoon we had enjoying the food in this beautiful space. The kitchen is open so you can see the food being prepared while you order. So many different things to choose from so we shared From The Deep (a lightly fried cod sandwich) and The Hatchery (Cobb like salad but with chicken thighs, micro greens, pickled onions and more). The salad came with blue cheese dressing but I opted for the vinaigrette instead. Both meals were absolutely delicious. Someone commented about it being costly and to go to other Pittsboro restaurants for a cheap meal. Yes, the meals were not inexpensive but they both were fresh and contained high quality ingredients. You can choose to take out, sit outside or enjoy a table in their very pretty dining room. They were open just for breakfast and lunch but have now added dinner hours too. I had to give it one star because of the charges. The food was good, the atmosphere was good. They are cashless, I like to use cash. They are paperless, I like to get a receipt. When we ordered, we were told the charge was $41.73 for 2 people. On our way out we asked about getting a copy of the receipt and the woman said she would text it. When we got it, it showed $36.20 including tax and tip. We were not told about the tip. being included in the final price. It is not stated on the menu or anywhere else. Our credit card was charged $50.08. After trying several times to contact the business, we finally had to dispute the charge with the credit card company. How many others have been over charged without having a receipt as proof of cost? I will never go there again. I do not trust them. They still have not returned our calls. read more
