Family place--hard to come by like this anymore…read more The rib plate is where it's at--three huge ribs, a few bites of baked beans, and a piece of Texas toast fully full and (unapologetically) with sauce all over her face and hands. Local police dined in, a teen in Spurs got BBQ cheese fries to go, and a preppy 20-something picked up Q for her friends. Something to make everyone happy. Loved the simple interior and friendly service. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "The Dream of Change" poster on one wall complemented the Ten Commandmets on another wall.

Made the Executive decision to come to BP and super glad I did. The initial welcome greeting was very warming, love that Southern experience...The menu was big enough to where I felt everyone would like or want to try something and that it was. The ambiance here is literally a flash from the past, literally a calendar in the wall that had January 1924. That should give you a good idea lol, felt like walking into the past of this decade. Our waitress actually mentioned she'd been working there since 14 which just shows how long this place has been in business. The locals must like it too, had a steady pace of customers in and out. They have this cool little takeout window as well. My picky Mom ordered the Talapia and Seafood dinner with a side salad. My neice got the chicken strips and onion rings with a few sides. I'm a catfish kinda dude so went with the Catfish dinner. I was curious about the Brunswick Stew Pint which is like a tomato based soup with pulled chicken and beef. Everything was cooked very well, nice and crispy. I also had the potato salad which was ok, no digs it was good I'm just use to a bit more flavor but overall really good. I would still recommend. I'm curious how the rest of the menu is, it's a BBQ spot so I would love to come back and try some BBQ chicken and Beef. They also had Turkey so throw some of that on the want list too lol. Our waitress who had been there a while was super cool. Although it seemed like she had drank 2 cups of coffee, she was on it. Kept drinks filled and attended to my picky family who unfortunately can't make up their minds but she was patient so thank her for that. Oh yeah! Go Pack Go!! I'm a Green Bay Packers fan so this local college team (I believe lol) gets all of my fandom and support. Go Pack Go!

This time we wanted quick take-out and the ordinary pizza/Chinese options wouldn't cut it so we ordered from Persis Byriani. TBF, we have limited experience with Persian dishes so we ordered some items with which we were entirely unfamiliar. Sadly, the whole of our meal was limp, lukewarm, and a bit greasy. The flat bread which had absorbed too many flavors while steaming in the take-out bag was a huge disappointment. Fresh from the pan, it is a real treat and difficult to do at home properly. I even tried pan frying to get it back to normal but it came out even chewier. I think that it would be a better test to eat at the restaurant and get a fresh take on the dishes. Plus, the staff could better advise what flavors and spices we were getting.

The restaurant has a few tables and a bar. There is a cafeteria style setup with hot food. I don't know how the table service works, but to go, we just said we had a to go order. There is a choice of foods and sandwiches. There is a big board with a menu, but other patrons said to go by what is actually on the food bar. Someone there waiting on their food recommend the oxtail, cabbage, and cuban rice, so that's what I ordered. Oxtail - this is one of the best things I've ever had in my life. It was cooked perfectly (I assume, I have never had it before). Super tender and the fat just melts. It's over a bed of rice, which soaks up the juice. There is not a ton of meat, but it is 100% worth it. . Cabbage - I have had cabbage plenty of times, but this may have cumin, but not sure. It was also very good. If you like cabbage, you will probably like this. There were a lot of other foods to choose from, so lots of options if oxtail and cabbage are not for you. Unless we find something better, this is our go-to for Moultrie.

Corn nuggets, fried Okra, Jalapeño Peppers, Onion Rings, Fried Mac and Cheese. There's so many more. The house coleslaw is tasty too. I ordered the banana pudding. It only contained 3 cookies and 3 pieces of banana. I was disappointed over this. But that fried flounder was seasoned to perfection. The breading was Light and flaky. I was served 2 nice size pieces. The hush puppies were dusted with the seasoning. After adding a touch of hot sauce I was in flounder heaven. It was washed down with southern sweet tea. This is definitely a spot to revisit the next time I'm in Moultrie. No Doubt
