Went for lunch with a friend. I had chicken, pork and shrimp fried rice. She had a vegan Pho. My rice was dry with over cooked pork and chicken. Very dry. Shrimp was good. Was not favorable. My friend did not like hers due to the broth. She said the vegetables were fresh and the noodles were ok. She enjoyed the spring rolls. I tried to make mine better by adding hoisin sauce but did not help. Service was fine. She was knowledgeable about the food. The restaurant was clean. Did not enjoy that type of food read more

If you are looking for authentic Vietnamese food, this is not it. We ordered Lemongrass chicken bun which calls for grilled chicken, crisp marinated vegetables, cucumbers, basil, bean sprouts, lettuce and rice vermicelli served with authentic nuoc mam sauce. We were served what appeared to be typical thickened chicken stir fry in a sweet sauce with cooked vegetables served over vermicelli and lettuce, no bean sprouts. We had to ask for nuoc mam. The spring rolls were also lacking flavor. Although the portions were generous this is not good Vietnamese good. Service was good but we won't be returning. read more

Not only is the pho disgusting but wait times to receive your food be ridiculous. The broth doesn't taste homemade, it has a funny looking color, and the taste is just distinct. They never have all the toppings that initially go with it. They only notify you that they don't have something when you bring it to their attention. Have visited several times. Seems that the last year or so the owner is trying to 'nickle and dime' the customers to death. The first time this occurred was a couple visits ago when I asked for a simple tripe pho. There wasn't one on the menu. The meal came and the food was good, but they charged me an 'extra meat' charge since it was a custom order (they have tripe pho on the menu, but it has other meats in it....I just wanted tripe). There was no extra meat in the bowl...they just charged me extra for the 'hassle' of only using 1 protein. Strange, but oh well. Odd too that they never mentioned when ordering that it was there policy (and it's NOT on the menu as such...only that EXTRA meat is charged more!). Lesson learned. The last time we visited a couple weeks ago we got a surprise on the bill. They now charge for every little bit of sauce you ask for. They had terriaki on the table, but we requested the fish sauce, peanut sauce for our eggrolls, and some chili sauce (sirachi). When the bill came, they had added on an additional $7 for sauce. Guess it doesn't matter that ALL OTHER PHO restaurants include your seasoning sauces in the price. (again...NOT listed on the menu as such). Waiter says it's the owners new policy and he can't do anything about it. I mentioned this to a couple local friends and they all made the same comment....watch for hidden charges, mistaken charges, and just outright $$ added to the check. Looks like we'll need to head to Macon or Warner Robbins now for our Pho fix. read more

The food was mediocre. I had to put a whole container of chili oil in it just to give the pho some much needed zest. Also there's no sriracha sauce. They can only offer packets of some off brand crap that was just nasty. Also the sever was terrible. I showed her a pic of a menu item my Mom saw on their Facebook page that she wanted to try and our server was like " ugh! If that's Facebook, no! It's not on the menu". And she never came to check on us literally not once. And we had to go up to pay cuz she would never come to the table. Umm yeah I'll find another Vietnamese place in the area next time. This place is GREAT!! There are so many delicious dishes to choose from. My personal favorites include, the Korean BBQ ribs, the meatball vermicelli, the meatball Pho, and the meat ball bah mi (the sandwich). My husband LOVES the lemongrass chicken. You really can't go wrong! Courtney is an EXCELLENT server. You can always ask her for suggestions. I didn't know ANYTHING about Vietnamese food when I started coming but you don't have to!! This spot was a solid Pho place. I would definitely come back again. Then menu is pretty limited but that's not necessarily a bad thing they have the basics. There's no chicken broth which is surprising but the beef broth was light and still very tasty. Be careful with the chili oil condiment container... the nozzles have some buildup and chili oil will spray out really hard. Additionally the straw are super short for the size cup they had but those are my only remarks. The staff was super sweet fast and accommodating. Like I said I will be back! read more

Stopped in one evening after work to give pho a try. I started with the spring rolls, and not bad. Dipped them in a spicy sauce and not the peanut sauce that came with them. For the pho, I went with the staff recommendation of the sirloin (thin slices) and overall not bad. But the beef was a bit more tough that I expected. However, the broth was tasty. A squeeze of lime, a little cilantro, and boom. Although a bit more green onion than I would have liked. Amazing!!! I'm so happy to find a great Vietnamese restaurant in Albany. I ordered the lemongrass tofu with rice vermicelli and spring rolls, and I enjoyed every bite. The lemongrass tofu came with plenty of sautéed vegetables and a bed of lettuce, and was so delicious and seemingly healthy. The staff was extremely friendly and informed me that they make a vegetarian pho in addition to their meat broths, which is exciting. I can't speak to the ambiance as I ordered takeout, but it seemed nice inside when I picked up my food. The prices are reasonable, and the portion sizes are perfect (not too much and not too little). When you go to an ethnic restaurant, Italian, Irish, French etc and the cook is from "the old country" it is a good sign. If all the patrons are from "the old country" you have hit pay dirt! I don't do reviews but this place deserves one. I don't come here often because I live in Atlanta but whenever I come down to visit my girlfriend we go here whenever we can. Don't judge the place by the way it looks, the pho here is better than most pho places in Atlanta which is crazy considering the location. The broth is not too heavy or oily, it is light and almost refreshing, the portions and prices of the food is just right and the employees are all so friendly! This place is the closest "authentic" Asian food you can find in Albany.
