Greg came out shortly after I called for an estimate and did a thorough review, explained my options and gave me a very competitive quote. The team was able to come out not long after and complete the job in less than one day. Thankfully there was a light rain just a few days later to test the installation and we noticed one small drip. The team had explained during the install that this might be a problem spot (issues with the roof pitch not the gutters), but came out two days later and did a simply fix that should make the small drip stop. Overall the work looks amazing! Color matches perfectly, downspouts are well secured and they left the worksite (my yard :)) clean. I used West Coast gutters a year and a half ago when we were all afraid that the El Nino was going to come in. All Gutter companies were really busy at the time, but I managed to get three bids after a while. I chose West Coast not because they were "slightly" cheaper (they were all very close), but because he simply put, I liked him and he was the owner who came out himself to look at what I needed. Fast track to early this year. I noticed water pouring over the end of one of the gutters. It was when we were finally having all the rain. Greg sent his son out, great great nice kid, and he not only cleaned out my gutters which was half the problem, but also suggested a second downspout which they installed quickly at a cost that let's just say was beyond reasonable. ***** PROCEED WITH CAUTION! ***** It seems like there's a common trend with rain gutter companies and that they are either unorganized or just don't care. See the other low star reviews for the common issues. My initial call to West Coast Rain gutters was a voicemail left on Greg's phone. No return call after two days. Tried one more time since I wanted bids on the job and got a call back the next day to schedule an appointment which was about a week out. Much better than a couple of the other companies who were booked about a month out just for a bid/estimate. I had gotten three other estimates and West Coast Rain Gutters was in the middle with an added bonus of a roof diverter on the roof overlooking my walkway. The installation date was a month out which was fine since the rain season hadn't arrived yet. Prior to the installation, I decided to order three rain barrels but delivery of the rain barrels were not going to happen until a week after the install date due to a back order. So I figured I would print out the rain barrel product info and dimensions to provide to the installer so the down spouts would be shorter than usual. West Coast Rain Gutters arrived on time and gave me a walk-through of how the installation was going to go. There were adjustments to the original plan due to how my roof slopes which I was fine with. The gutters were a good match to the exterior color of my house and the installation went smooth. I made the mistake of assuming they followed the dimensions of the rain barrels since the down spouts would need to be shorter to accommodate the rain barrels. One side of the downspout fit perfect where two rain barrels in tandem were installed. The second rain gutter is where the issue is. The downspout is about 5-8 inches too long where the rain barrel would not fit under. Without the rain barrels being installed on this side, this would cause the water to run down to a dirt area which in turn would run dirt and mud through my newly installed pavers which I'm not too happy about. I emailed Greg and received no response after 3 days. I called his cell phone and his voice mail box is at full capacity. I text messaged Greg and I finally received a response stating that he is out of town and would let me know the next time he would be in my area. It's been one week with no contact from Greg and along with three unanswered text messages. Now the rain season is upon us and I'm very concerned with the run off going through my pavers. I understand this is the busy season for all rain gutter installations. But a small bit of communication goes a long way. Especially when it's a customer who has already paid. The quality of work definitely deserves high stars only if the installer followed the rain barrel dimensions. But since the installation is incorrect, no communication with the owner and the issues I will be experiencing from the run off, I'm leaving this at a one star review. I will update this review when and IF the outcome changes. Otherwise, I may need to reach out to another company and pay to have the downspout fixed. Pictures provided to show the issue. read more

I've had the worst luck with rain gutter contractors. After interviewing more than a handful, I found West Coast Raingutters on Yelp. The reviews were great, so I gave them a call. Greg answered and was very friendly. He arrived at my home on time for the initial consultation. I was immediately impressed with his demeanor and customer service oriented attitude. His quote was the most expensive, but I was so happy to finally have met someone I would want to do business with, that I hired him on the spot. He said he would put me on the schedule for a week and a half out and we were happy with that quote. A week and a half passed... no word. I called Greg and told him I wanted to confirm I was on his instal schedule because I hadn't heard anything. He said he was "pretty sure" we were on for the 17th. Although that was longer than the 1.5 week quoted time for installation, it wasn't a big deal. Unfortunately, the 17th came with no calls, no show. I took the day off from work to be home and I was pretty disappointed in the communication. Communication and scheduling is such a simple thing. If you can't do that, how do you stay in business? Giving him the benefit of the doubt.. maybe something happened.. I called him at 5pm. He returned my call a couple of hours later saying he lost my number and he meant to call me, he misplaced our paperwork, the guys got put on an apartment complex job.. ya-da-ya-da. There were more excuses than I could count. He said he would definitely be able to do the work on Wednesday or Thursday, he would call me in the morning to confirm. Well, no call the next day. No show Wednesday or Thursday. Now it's Friday and I'm just over it. It's bad business to treat customers this way. I'm sure the work they do must be good, but unfortunately I can only review the poor front end management of scheduling. I'm very disappointed and again without gutters. Such an epic waste of my time as I could have hired someone else in the weeks I've been waiting. read more

It took a couple of phone calls to get him to my house, but the owner Greg finally came out and gave me a fair estimate on replacing my gutters. He was really friendly, very thorough, and didn't try to oversell me on anything. At the time of the estimate, he said that I was looking at about a 3 week wait time, but after two months there was no word from him. I placed a call and he was very apologetic, saying that they were busy during the latter half of the year with commercial and residential sites. Fair enough, but a 30 second phone call giving me an update would have been nice. I was on the verge of hiring someone else, but after this call Greg was able to get his workers out to my house within a few days. The two guys that hung the gutters, Max and Jordan, were awesome. They did the whole house in about 4 hours and did an excellent job. I'm very pleased with the workmanship and the way it turned out. I just have to wait for it to rain to give it the final test, but I'm sure it will be a huge improvement. I definitely recommend these guys, and if it weren't for the poor communication initially, I would have no problem giving them 5 stars. read more

I started my replacement for gutters about 1 year ago. Things happen, as they do, and I am finally ready to finish this project. So I called Greg and he still had my estimate on file. We scheduled a date. Which I then had to change the date as I was having the fascia painted. And had to change the date again as the painters needed to put on a second coat. I know, I sound like a flake, but Greg was so nice and accommodating through all of my crazy plans. And remained in good communication through out all the reschedules. Max, Greg ' s son, came out with his coworker Brandon. They even pointed out an area that was demonstrating need for gutters (they pointed out the evidence in the stucco)... and I do not think this was the sell just to get more money. They put up the gutters quickly. They did a fantastic job! And they honored the invoice from last year. Greg and the guys were really cool. Dependable. Great communication. Did great work. I have gutters now, it was not the best experience though. They were always 90 min late one time and 2 hours the next time. No call, They mangled my new drip edge badly, and the initial install of the screens was sloppy. They came back and tried to fix it. The owner was less than polite on the phone. They either couldn't do two stories or never called back. Greg showed up when he said he would and gave a really great price. He left a bunch of paper work that I didn't really pay much attention to. West Coast was the first contractor to call me back and set up an estimate. Greg, the owner, came out did the estimate. He was thorough, quick, and very personable. He gave me a very fair quote for the job for a two-story house to do a complete, new install for seamless gutters with matching paint. I waited around and got three other quotes for the same work. These ranged up to $1,000 more! Followed up with Greg and had an install time scheduled. First install time had to be canceled and postponed for later in the week. Greg's son and colleagues came to do the install. They did quick work but did a solid job. They ran into a slope issue over my garage and had to improvise, but the end result looked flawless. Paint matching similarly turned out perfectly. After our first big rain, drainage was excellent but I noticed some water build-up behind the gutters in one area. I had Greg's son come back to follow-up and we discovered the issue was with some of my roof tiles. Roofer came out and fixed that issue. No charge of course for the follow-up. Greg, the owner just came out to our home to give us a quote on gutters. I am giving this review based on the estimate, and Greg, alone. Greg drove away from our house no more than 10 minutes ago and I had to Yelp him immediately I was so taken with his company. Greg impressed me as being as friendly and as honest as they come. He works with his sons and they make the gutters (which are seamless) on site. Could't ask for a nicer man. Then came the estimate. That's when I wanted to hug him. It was beyond affordable. I'm not even going to call another company for a comparison quote. I can't imagine the price getting beat. I know there are vinyl gutters with lots of seams at Home Depot that are pretty cheap, but my neighbors have them and the seams every 3 feet look ugly. Great experience from estimate to installation. For the estimate Greg showed up on time, did a quick and thorough estimate and followed up in a timely manner to schedule our install. The installation crew was efficient and communicated with me throughout the 3 hours they were at my house. Due to the pitch of our roof, we had to make a day-of decision about an additional downspout and they worked with me and listened to my concerns about drainage and that's always the difference maker for me (communication). Greg came onsite to manage and help as well, which gave me confidence in the quality of work. With the recent storms everyone in the gutter business was slammed with work. Greg was no exception but he happen to be working in my area and came by to assess the damage. He could have easily told me I needed to replace everything, (how would I know) or charged me an arm and a leg due to hi demand. Instead he squeezed me in between jobs and was able to preserve my existing gutters but just use high quality brackets to attach them. I recommend gutters for anybody and everybody that don't have them. There are so many houses on our street that don't have them and the sides of their houses are dirty, stucco is coming off, rust trailing from windows, etc. The overall cost isn't much when you see the value. Hold off on that Coach purse or expensive car rims and focus on things your house needs. His team did a good job explaining why certain areas had to be sloped differently. I do wish they had told they wouldn't be using some of the house's pre-installed drainage in the ground. I also wish they discarded all of their extra nails since i have kids around. READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. It seems like my experience is not uncommon. Initially everything was good to great, 4-5 stars. As soon as we needed something after the owner (Greg) forgot about us, apparently he got busy. Keep in mind, this entire time I was as polite and understanding and only wanted the work completed. Greg communicated that he was going to finish the job but when I wasn't happy with the work he started cursing at me. Cursing to a customer?! Who runs a business like that. He mentioned that he's been doing this for offer 20+ years and that no one listens and kept cursing. Apparently, as soon as something is needed after the initial job Greg turns from Jekyl to Hyde. Big time hothead! To be fair, after he cooled down he offered to pay for the additional parts to complete my job and blamed his attitude on not feeling well that day. I would never do business with this company again and I can't believe how Greg spoke to me over the phone. Hopefully there are no leaks. Because of how Greg reacted, I would be very skeptical that they would do the necessary repairs. Crossing my fingers that I don't need to worry about that.
