If you want to be repeatedly no showed with no phone call or explanation, this is your company! Scheduled and rescheduled a new gutter install 4 times over a period of about 2 weeks. They never showed up. First, it was the guys were sick (ok it happens). Second day, it was they ordered the wrong gutter color (ok it happens). Third day, it was they wrote down the wrong time window in their schedule (?). Fourth, it was "the rain yesterday threw a wrench in our schedule" (?). At the end of the day, they just weren't coming. These guys are total flakes. Hard to imagine how they retain customers. read more

Wife & I recently completed a total home remodel overseen by Marrokal Design & Remodeling (separate review). We decided not to have gutters installed (mistake!) as part of the project. Our (uneducated) reasoning was we thought it would detract from appearance of our new Spanish style tiled roof. In retrospect we should have considered potential damage to landscaping by not having gutters. When San Diego's rainy season arrived, we immediately regretted not having gutters. We totally trust Marrokal and their relationship with top notch subcontractors. I phoned our Marrokal project manager and asked his recommendation for a company to install gutters. Without hesitation he recommended Affordable Raingutters in Lakeside. In December I left a voice mail at the posted company phone number. Within a few hours I had a call from Josh at Affordable Raingutters. Josh said he could have an estimator at my house the following week. Now here's the downside. Josh also informed me their company had a backlog of orders in production. Even with their crews working six days per week Affordable Raingutters would not be able to complete my installation until mid-February. That delay is the only reason I do not give Affordable Raingutters 5-stars! Yet please keep in mind two important factors: 1. Marrokal's recommendation means Affordable Raingutters in Lakeside is the best and their service/product can be totally relied upon. 2. I must admit it is better to have a company that is "in demand" vice a company which is begging for work! In December Affordable Raingutters estimator (Tim) arrived our house on time for scheduled appointment. Tim was very knowledgeable and friendly. Wife & I were very comfortable with Tim's recommendation on product style and color. Tim's cost estimate seemed reasonable and we immediately signed in order to get our job in their production queue. Fast forward to mid-February. Josh phoned in advance to confirm our scheduled date and to set a time for installers to arrive our home. Affordable Raingutters installers Branden and James arrived on time. Both gentlemen seemed well trained and courteous. Branden asked to walk the site with me to confirm drawings were correct before installation. Everything was correct and they had all required materials/tools in truck. Friendly and professional service from the estimate to the installation to the people I spoke with over the phone. Estimate: The tech who came out to do the estimate was efficient and took time to talk about options I had questions about. He went over his design of how the gutters were to be installed during the meeting. Installation: The installation was efficient and painless. We have a decorative "lip" that skirts around the outside of our house. I had a little issue with how the gutter went over the lip. It wasn't anyone's fault or anything, it just needed a custom piece over it. The tech onsite, Louis did a great job acknowledging my concern. He told me he would talk to the office let them know and come back and change it with the custom piece. I also called the office the following day to follow up. They said the tech was coming out that same day (the day I was calling to follow up). I was very happy he was already able to come back the next day. It was no hassle or fuss. Customer service was EXCELLENT with everyone I interacted with in person and on the phone. I liked that I was able to conveniently pay over the phone by credit card. RUN. Terrible quality and terrible demeaning customer service. This company installed gutter at my house 1 week before a rain. The first time in rained I had massive amounts of water seeping though the gutters and the facia board. Dave the general manager insisted it was a problem with my roof??? I explained several times I had 4 roof inspections and it was NOT the roof. He insisted on "prooving" it to me. He sent his own roofer who agreed with US it was indeed not the roof but the gutters. He then sent people to the house without telling me and totally unauthorized to "fix" the problem with some kind of sealer. I can't tell you what it is because if was not aware he did it. While meeting with the roofing contractor to show him the issue because Dave refused to check for himself, my husband fell and dislocated his shoulder and had to be rushed to the ER via ambulance. Instead of apologizing Dave send a bill with "late fees." *Their quote was also $400 more than TRU team for the same work. I made a big mistake going with this company! read more

At first the service was good, but near the completion of our project Affordable Raingutters really took a dive. They were a complete no show one day, no cancellation phone call or notice whatsoever. When we called them the next day to see what happened the manager took no responsibility for the mistake and could only offer to reschedule four days later. The evening before the rescheduled appointment we got a phone call confirming they would be at the project, alas, they were again a no show. The only reason I was informed they weren't coming for the rescheduled appointment is that the office lady called to see if we were satisfied, not even knowing that the crew never made it to the project. Pro: great looking gutters at meh price. Con: terrible attention to detail and follow-through. Some gutters were inches above underground drains. One vertical section was crooked, had to be replaced. One section wasn't secured properly to the house. Water rushes out of the drainpipe and *over* a gutter so it spills down on the mulch! I had to call them back twice for different corrections. The gutters are nice and the installers are nice, but watch the sales guy. He helps you pick a color to match the eaves from a 1 inch square piece and when it doesn't match they charge you a $150 to change the color to match the eaves. And another week wait, and they still came out with the wrong color again. Another trip back to the shop. How much is my time worth. Then the downspout ended up being at my front door when the sales guy said it would be at the garage. Then another trip back a few days later for the downspouts. Being a gutter newbie, I had no clue about these things. I was in good hands. We also discussed rain collection barrels, which I will be pursuing at a later time. Today the last step of my gutter install is being finished up and wanted to congratulate Affordable Raingutters for being the most outstanding contractors ever. From Tim the estimator, to the install team, to the office team and most certainly the owners, this company top down offers the best customer service. They couldn't finish my install because I had an open trench inhibiting their ladder placement. They came back to finish again down the road when I was ready without charging me. I called their office and requested a color chart so my painter could get a head start on painting the facia boards. The office mailed a color chart and a sample chip of the rain gutter material in the color I was interested in. Their estimator, Tim, was very helpful and explained why I needed additional down spouts. He stated that their company would install a rain chain I had ready to put up at no extra charge. Their installers, Rick and Tristan, were professional and did a wonderful job. They installed my rain chain and left my yard spotless. They also listened to my concern about the short down spouts being too near the foundation and provided extended, removable down spouts that will empty the water further from the house.
