So San Diego was hit by its 2nd rain storm today. I discovered that my current half round rain gutters was beginning to separate from roofline. The company that installed it went out of business a few years ago. I discovered that the brackets securing my rain gutters was held by some weak self tapping wood screws and they broke off from the weight of both the water and the gutters. I was on the hunt for some parts and needed to get this repair done today, before the heavy rains hit. I started my yelp profile several years ago. I don't just write negative reviews like some. Well, since we had the house stuccoed, why not go whole hog and get new rain gutters. We had torn down the old ones a few years ago and just let the rain come down au natural, but we noticed there was some erosion happening in certain areas around the house. Unbelievable that this company has so many positive reviews because Stephen who came out to inspect a repair that I requested actually got so mad at me for not answering my phone when he was on site and ended up hanging up on me after telling me "I'll pass". I was to be on standby for him when he came out to my condo complex, and my mobile phone must have gone out of service area so it didn't ring when he called. I called him back thinking he stood me up and that is when he was so pissed at me for not answering my phone when he called from the site that he said "I'll pass and hung up on me. He didn't say I'm sorry going to have to pass on this one. Just "I'll pass and hung up. I was not a no show/no call as Isacc says, when I spoke to Isaac on the phone the day before, I specifically asked if I should be there and he said no!!! I texted Stephen back after he hung up and told him that it wasn't fair for him to treat me like this just because I didn't answer my phone. I explained that I didn't intend to miss his call. He accused me of not caring about getting the job done. After he already rudely said "I'll pass" and hung up, I texted him that I would be posting a negative review, contacting the BBB and chamber of commerce. He called me back in response to my text and went off on me. He said go f***** ahead and post your little review, I have the capability of responding to them and will blame it all on you. Stephen threatened me to respond negatively and say things that are just not true about the situation. And if you look at his response, he did just that!!! He said people can tell when the reviews are legit and when they are not. I know it isn't a huge job and probably not worth his time, but he could have had more respect and simply said we're not interested in doing the job. He could have chosen to be polite. I hired this company to install rain gutters on my son's house. They were promp when coming to the estimate. They provided samples of the gutter colors they have so that I could get a paint match and paint the trim to the exact color we chose. (Something that I requested.) Within one day of me letting them know the paint was completed they had an appointment for install. The installers were there on time and worked diligently until the job was finished. Someone from their company came out last Thursday and took a bunch of measurements. Said they'd send me a quote but I never received it. I emailed their office and no response. If they can't send me a simple quote how are they going to install rain gutters? And now Im forced to call and email them taking more time out of my day. Edit: I have finally received the quote. Price looks good will update if I move forward. Edit 1: The installers showed up and are friendly but the front office told me they'd be here at 1:00pm today. It is 8:00am. We had 110 feet of 6-inch gutter and 68 feet of downspout installed yesterday. The estimate from Stephen was very competitive. I especially appreciated his advice and recommendations with no pressure to make more expensive choices. He provided actual samples of metal with the colors that we were interested in. That allowed us to pick a color that was close to the color of the drip edge being installed with a new roof. It also permitted us to purchase matching paint color for the fascia that we had painted during roof installation. It all looks great. They were responsive to my online request, professional, accommodating and every other attribute one expects (hopes) to find with a contractor. Stephen arrived at the house on time, collected information needed and the next day I received a written estimate. Estimate was complete in all regards and fairly (and competitively) priced -- the "bottom line" amount beat out two other estimates I received. Date/time for removal of my damaged rain gutter and replacement of new was set. I received a call from the installer 30 minutes before scheduled arrival time letting me know he was on his way. My entire experience with Seamless was outstanding. Every interaction from the initial site survey with Joshua(?) to the install team, led by a very professional and courteous Fernando, was excellent. They accommodated my requests for storm grey downspouts and white gutters. I say accommodated b\c they were extremely busy during the October-February time frame due to higher demand (El Nino). There was some concern that they would not be able to source the color I had requested but they delivered. I had the square downspouts installed and they look really good. All of the downspouts were contoured on-site to fit the profile of my home. In one section, there was a large gap between the gutter and the face of the house. Fernando proactively pointed it out knowing that I was particular about the details - I told him so at the onset of the job. We agreed it would look better if he contoured a new downspout to hug the profile more closely. Since he didn't have enough material he came back a few days later and finished the job. I have to update this review from a year ago. I have emailed (Jennifer) and have left phone messages to Seamless Gutters and have receive end zero contact back. I had Seamless Gutters install flat faced gutters, a year later there's warping going on, before the last storm and I don't believe enough of the anchors were installed leaving long areas of the gutters subject to bending and warping. I was hoping to obtain good professional follow up, this of course hasn't happen, as personally I felt Joshua would be responsive. I have left several messages and have received nothing from them, no follow up at all! I am so disappointed and will not stick my neck out recommending a company that does not have the curtesy to reply to customers. My gutters have warped more anchors needed to provide sufficient support, now what? Read the warranty, there's none which is probably why I received no acknowledgement of messages. He was very polite and worked consistently while here. The only problem was not with Fernando, but that the flat faced gutter I was looking forward to having installed, was not what I was getting. The one on the website has a beading half way down and based on the picture on their website I really liked it. Well once the first gutter was shaped I realized it wasn't the same as the website. I talked to Fernando who called Josh. He installed the beading tool and cute me a small piece, which I really appreciated. However the beading was larger than what appears on the website and not what I was looking for. I decided to stick with the clean flat face which looks great. He adjusted the down spouts as requested. I've had my rain gutters for a while and love them, the color is spencer match and the flat look is amazing. One area of the gutters was accumulating water and they came out and not only fixed it, but added a down spout and fixed a crushed spout that I ran over. Well I get a reminder call the day before, thank you very much, to make sure I would be there @ 1:30. Well, 1:30 comes and goes. Finally at 2:30 I call them. The response was "Oh, it's raining so Mike decided to call it a day." WHAT? It's barely drizzling and the least you could do is call and tell me. I left work early. "Well," says the receptionist, "I don't have another time slot until Monday, 3 weeks out." Are you flipping serious? So, let me get this straight, 6 weeks just for an estimate? I'm shocked! After reading the reviews, I thought it was a no-brainer to select this company. I called for an estimate appointment and they scheduled me for 2 weeks out. Typical I think in this business. However, on the day of the estimate I got a call that said the estimator could not make it because of an emergency. No problem, but they couldn't fit me in for another 2 weeks. 1st blunder in my book. So I scheduled it and the day of the 2nd estimate appointment, the estimator called me at 9 AM saying he could be a little early for my 10 AM appointment. 10 AM?!?!? The booking was for 2 PM like it was for the 1st scheduled appointment. The estimator said he would call the office and have them call me to figure this out. Well, they never called me. 2nd blunder. I can understand the communication error on the schedule, but not to call me back to figure out how to correct the situation is very bad business. Needless to say, I didn't call them and won't use or refer them to anyone. Be careful and make sure they do what they say they're going to do before you enter into a contract with them. We are currently having seamless gutters placed on our house. They are putting up a flat face which costs extra because they have to rent some machine. In THEIR brochure it shows the different styles with the downspout. All of a sudden I have to pay an additional 960 dollars because we don't want the coragated down spouts we want the flat. I sent an email with what I wanted in it and for some reason they can't seem to get my email that was forwarded from my sent file. I have now sent it twice and both times they could not receive it. I also showed it to their gutter specialist that is putting up the gutters at my house. I spoke to the person who came out to give a bid and he kept referring to a conversation he had with my husband and not me. He was shocked that I wanted him to call my husband since it was him he talked to. The crew that they sent is very nice and they seem to know what they are doing but the administration (who deal with money) are clueless in customer service and what their marketing material says to someone one who does not know the business but does know how to look at a brochure! They have just called and apologize for the confusion and agreed that their brochure needs a change. They also agreed to put on the proper downspouts at a loss to them because of the poor contract write-up and the misleading brochure that you can see at the bottom. The office lady said that they are so supposed to be mix and match. How do you put a round gutter on a rectangular downspout.
