It is better than driving to Seattle..even if the owners get their merchandise from Seattle daily and then double the price. When my Vietnamese parents come for a visit, this is where I go to get my mom's items so she can cook her Vietnamese food. Again...it is better than driving to Seattle. In a crunch you can get what you need here. Selection is good compared to the other Asian store and their store layout is more spacious apart. You will find items (ie "pork blood" or "ostrich eggs) that you won't find at any grocery stores(ie America groceries). Shares a large parking lot with other business, but never had an issue finding a parking spot. They also started to sell to go banh mi sandwiches. It was $5, now $6. Bread was good but the sandwich "okay"-- not worth $3 much less the $6 price ticket. Same owners of the new pho diner "360 Pho." Family own business so forgiving on their banh mi, but will not be buying another one any time soon. read more

This specific place has MANY Thai , Filipino, and Vietnamese ingredients that most places lack.

A little asian grocery store, but they have most of what you need to cook up good Asian meals. Items you find here include frozen food, produce, dried packed food, beverage, and seasoning. If you are not chef type, no worry. You can actually order take out from them. read more

I know this place as West Coast Oriental Market, LLC. West Coast Grocer doesn't do the business justice. I drive over 30 minutes to buy their eclectic produce. Always friendly service. Easy in and out on the main drag. read more

Customer service is the worst. When a customer walks in, the kids at the front register don't even look up from their phones. Actually had to wait for the kid to stop texting someone before he rang me up. There are holes in some frozen packages from them not being careful opening up boxes. Selection is crap. Will just stock up next time I head to Seattle. Don't even bother wasting time heading there. read more

This is the second Asian Grocery store I've visited since moving to Bellingham, with the first one being Asian Oriental Market (also on Meridian St.). It is located between Oreilly's Auto Parts and Jiffy Lube off of Meridian St. In terms of size and selection, this one is a bit bigger. In addition, they have more fresh Asian vegetables for sale with decent quality. read more

This little hole in the wall is 100% worth the stop!! Packed with foods from all over the world, I was VERY impressed with the variety. My son and I stopped in to see what was on the shelves and walked out with a basket full. They have the standard soy sauce, chili sauce, and noodles galore, but the freezer section and oh my gosh, the snacks.... snaaaaaaaacks! The shop owner was so nice, showed is different things that were on our list, and walked with us to find things (vs sitting behind the counter and pointing). When we left my son proclaimed NEW FAVORITE STORE! Thank you so much. We will be back soon. read more

They will have you covered on the basics of what you'll need for southeast Asian and Chinese dishes. Very competent and friendly staff.

I'd love an Asian specialty supermarket, but this place meets my most important needs. Good but limited produce. The cafe makes very good and very reasonably priced Banh mi sandwiches, and the grocery has many items I cannot find at regular supermarkets. This place is awesome! What do you need? Asian candy, taro, rambuttans, lychees, mangosteens, pickled eggs, aloe, squid, dried bonito, canned fruit, quail eggs? They've got all that stuff and for super super SUPER cheap!!!! Spend $5 get dinner. Oh yeah they have frozen whole duck (head and all) great for peking duck at homeif you feel up to it. The gals there are really sweet and helpfull and they will give you some great ideas for the stuff they are selling. I've asked them more then once about how to cook odd melons and greens and they are always great about giving me tips and suggestions. Like I said this one is pretty awesome it was on my weekly shopping outings when i lived in bellingham and will always have a special little place in my heart. read more

I'll admit i have only been to less than 20 oriental grocery stores in my life,but this one was the worst..on the plus side it did have a lot of stock to choose from. But the sandwich and drink side was NOT acceptable. For a whopping $6 for a Vietnamese sandwich I had a stale hot dog bun with some sort of over cooked deep friend tofu with a tiny bit of sauce, 15 or 20 pieces of shredded carrots, three of daikon radish and four slices of cucumber. When i found four or five things i wanted to buy in the grocery department, there were no prices. To me this can mean the price can be verbally adjusted depending on who the customer is. Sharp prices too, and all the stores have the pat answer now for that 'the pandemic makes it hard to get supplies'. I could go on, but you get the drift. There are plenty of other asian markets and I plan to try those next time. read more

I enjoy stopping here on my weekly run to both Asian stores on Meridian St. They have my favorite honey potato chips! It's family run.

The checker was super kind. He offered to take the smoothies we ordered out to us at our car. The bubble smoothies are great, too!

I love this place! Dora is a real character and is willing to help me find what I need or suggest something new to try. I can spend 1/2 an hour staring at the shelves and alway see a myriad of things I have never noticed before. Strange and wonderful!! :) If you are looking for basics like rice noodles, coconut milk ,,,. You can get most things here for 1/2 the price of your local grocery store. I have made my first visit today and I am super impressed with their bubble teas, in my opinion they're the best in town and I'm pretty sure I have tried every place in town. As for food, everything you need if you want to that special dish you've been wondering about, they most likely have it! Do yourself a favor and just stop by this place sometime. It's an okay place but I have never once gotten friendly service. People at the cash register always seem cold and unfriendly. Never thought much about it until yesterday when the person at the cash register was friendly with the people in line ahead of me and my daughter and friendly with the person behind us, but completely silent to us. Hard not to take that personally, but I will probably opt for the Asia Oriental Market at the south end of Meridian as other reviewers are pointing out here. It has just as much selection and the people there are *always* friendly. read more

Good selection of items, but when we went the cleanliness left a lot to be desired - there was some rotting fruit and the freezer cases looked really dirty. Also, a store employee followed my two adult children and I around the store as if they thought we were going to steal something. We did get a nice variety of items I'd been unable to find elsewhere but honestly if I can find a place that has more or less the same stock and doesn't treat us with so much suspicion, I won't shop here again. read more

No!!! Don't go here. Went to buy fresh noodles for pad se ew, all of the noodles had mold on them.. Gross! I would say it's probably fine for some other shelf safe stuff, but not when there is a GREAT Asian market just down the road! Do not go here!! The only reason I gave it a one star is because the male cashier is nice and friendly; however, like other people have said a lot of their items are either expired or molding. I've lived in the area for 5 years and only go here when I REALLY need something. If I get lucky, I might find it here. Do yourself a favor a drive a few more miles down to Asia Oriental Market (2408 meridian st). Also, the owner of West Coast Oriental is very rude, not only to customers, but people who work there too. read more

Bought an assortment of Asian snacks, and some refrigerated seaweed salad. Came home to find one of the snacks had an expiration date of 2011 and the salad was rancid. The clerk was friendly and helpful, but the store seems disorganized and the food is not properly cared for. Buy at your own risk (to your health). read more

Fairly cheap stuff, good variety but CHECK THE EXPIRATION DATES. Especially in the Indian section, a lot of the food had expired at least two years ago. Didn't buy anything from the frozen/refrigerated section but I would be hesitant to do so, since they don't seem to care very much about food safety. read more
