I always stop at this store to get soft ice cream on the way home from hiking, and this time I told a friend about it and she insisted we stop to get ice cream. The store has changed since I last stopped in a couple of years ago. They still had the ice cream, and they had just brought out a fresh pizza too so we had to get a slice of that as well, which was really good after a day of hiking outside when the temperature never hit 60 degrees. The soft ice cream was just as remembered, excellent! So from reading the other reviews it looks like the store has new owners, so please don't change things too much, I've always liked this little store the way it is, although the pizza was a nice addition. read more

I've had some great food out of little gas station/convenient stores, so took a chance on this place and it turned out to be a let down. Got burgers and it was just so basic and mediocre. I assume the meat they use is preformed and frozen. It was flavorless and there wasn't any extra seasoning added. I'm not a picky eater or cheap, but the mediocre food plus the price tag attached made this a big let down. Three burgers, fries, and an order of jo-jos was $48...plus I tipped. Love the Welcome store! We live near by and frequent them for a quick drink or snack. The food menu is awesome and don't be fooled by the gas station out front, this place has great food. From burgers to chicken strips, everything we have ordered has been awesome. Best fries in Whatcom county. Always friendly staff. read more

There were two overhead menu boards here during an August visit, and the one with the good food (eg anything better than 7-11 style heat-and-eat style burritos) says in small letters "Weekend Menu". The problem? We came in for lunch on a Sunday, and we were told curtly that the weekend menu is only available Friday and Saturday. FYI for the owner: 1. Sunday is a weekend day. 2. Friday isn't. 3. When customers get shooed out the door they don't come back. read more

Great place to work for. I enjoyed my time, but once I put my two weeks in owner Amrit took me off schedule immediately, gave me two days to work. Not worth your time if needing to pay bills. I do love the other people I worked with. Owner not great at all. he is cheap, over works his employees that are loyal to him and won't give raises. read more

Excellent addition to the Mt Baker headed and those with family in Deming. Fresh food- produce to deli to cheese. Amazing beer and wine selection. Local stuff to far from it! Mini bottles to 6 packs! Great options for snacks of all sorts. Reasonable! People were helpful, quick and didn't hover. I even found myself an inexpensive wine carafe! Love the in and out location right off the road and the option to sit outside too. This will become my camping staple for the summer. So proud that it's turned a neglected spot into a fabulous, diverse market for any and all quick needs! read more

Welcome Market/Deli just opened (or re-opened) after a major renovation. Market has a really nice selection of products, including fresh foods as well as the usual "corner store" staples. Deli has a nice little menu for hot sandwiches and sides. I tried a club sandwich with fries last night for dinner, very tasty, nice pile of fries and a big pickle in the box. Price wise it was a little more than a big chain footlong combo, and not as big of a sandwich, but the quality is significantly better, plus fresh hot fries instead of a bag of chips. Stop in and give them a try, I think you'll like it. UPDATE: Been back a couple times, I've had hot sandwiches and the fish and chips now, all have been good. Friendly staff. read more

One stop shop for the whole family can be found here. I was blown away by the overall set up of the store, how clean it was from top to bottom, and the selection of goods which were all of high quality. Best of all they are not out to rip you off; which they could very well do seeing as the store is out of the way and it does cost money to stock the shelves. I will be stopping by again and again for delicious deli offerings like coconut prawns, hand battered onion rings, and any other fried concoction that might find itself on the menu. Can't wait to try the atlantic cod and chips! The beer selection is top notch with many seasonals and local icy cold brews. The welcome store is such a great place! They catered a dinner for 30 plates at my work, the Black Mountain Ranch, and it was fantastic. All the workers are very kind and helpful. The food tastes wonderfully and it isn't overpriced. Everything I have tried from here I have enjoyed. I highly recommend if you are driving by to stop in and try their food! read more

Stopped in here after going on a ten mile hike. Great deli food. I had the salmon Caesar salad. It was huge...topped with a piece of delicious salmon that was at least 10 oz. Small tables are set among the convenience store shelves. Not much atmosphere but the food is great and inexpensive. Great rural location for the locals. This store has everything! read more
