It was nearly 7 pm though and nothing was open. I called Welcome Woods and he said come on by. He could hear me coming! He diagnosed by ear, had the tire off, and everything fixed and put back together by the time we walked down the road and back. And he charged us next to nothing! After recently moving to an area not far from Sechelt, BC, we suddenly found ourselves in need of…read morean urgent vehicle repair. Not knowing any of the local shops, I randomly asked one of the people at a gas station, about a shop I could get my car fixed at. SK Automotive was the first choice of the person we spoke with and she gave them a great recommendation. I called SK Automotive and spoke with Simon, (the owner), telling him that I had hoped to use the car to go into Burnaby in a couple of days. He said that he was already booked solid for more than a week. Still, he suggested I drop off the vehicle and maybe they could quickly look at it. When I arrived at the shop, I was very impressed with how clean and organized it was. I was also very impressed with Simon. He managed to fit our vehicle in, diagnose it and called me to discuss it. He ordered the part, but was sent the wrong one, so he offered to put it together so I could safely drive it on my 145km round trip, but said it would have to come back for the proper part to be installed. I opted to wait for the right part and save the rework. In the end, our vehicle was expertly fixed for a reasonable price and Simon took the time to show us the failed part and explain how it works. I am happy to say that we now have our "go to" guy in Sechelt for auto repairs. It's no wonder he's so busy, he's a great guy, has skilled mechanics working there, all the latests diagnosis and repair tools and he really knows how to treat a customer! I highly recommend SK Automotive and our experience there was a complete pleasure. Other shops could learn a thing or two from how Simon treats his customers.

I drove my low-based car through a big rock on the Sechelt highway (it was in the middle of the lane, couldn't avoid it in time), and pieces of the engine cover came loose -- we ripped off a couple pieces on the road, but I wanted to get it checked to make sure nothing major was amiss. The lady told me they didn't have any available appointments (I got there around 12:30 and they close at 2pm) but asked Trevor to take a quick test drive for me. He did that, but he also went ahead to lift my car, remove leftover pieces, and advise me that a replacement cover is not necessary. And after those 10-15 minutes of work, they didn't even charge me!

it's never fun to see the tire light illuminated on your dashboard. it's worse when you're on…read morevacation and far from home but today i had the experience of having my airbnb host help me get my car to kal tire from robert's creek so that whatever sharp object was the culprit could be extracted and the tire could be patched. the guy who helped was polite, professional and told me that he'd be able to get it taken care of in about 45 min which was great since i was conscientious about imposing on my hostess's time to accompany me into town in case i ended up needing to leave it and return later. in the end, i paid a reasonable amount for the screw to be extracted and for the tire to be patched. it seemed like a small price to pay in terms of time and money to be back in business and put this behind me on my first full day in the area. i appreciated the effort and would say that if you find yourself in the same or similar situation along the sunshine coast, consider kal tire for your needs.
