I drove my low-based car through a big rock on the Sechelt highway (it was in the middle of the lane, couldn't avoid it in time), and pieces of the engine cover came loose -- we ripped off a couple pieces on the road, but I wanted to get it checked to make sure nothing major was amiss. The lady told me they didn't have any available appointments (I got there around 12:30 and they close at 2pm) but asked Trevor to take a quick test drive for me. He did that, but he also went ahead to lift my car, remove leftover pieces, and advise me that a replacement cover is not necessary. And after those 10-15 minutes of work, they didn't even charge me!

Imagine if you will, driving your vehicle into a shop, knowing that the only thing needed to be…read morefixed was a wire end connection, that broke the positive wire free from the starter, everything else running perfectly fine, to hearing back from the shop that after they had fixed the wire, that now not only will your vehicle not start, but in trying to start it it makes a terrible grinding noise. Starter motor now obviously has a new problem. After poor treatment from shop staff, paying $150 for the wiring fix, and no information given as to how the vehicle you drove in, now needs to be towed to be moved, you tow it to a friends shop to find out the cause. In examining you find that not only did they do a shotty job on the connection fix, but they had obviously taken out the starter motor to make room to do the fix, and most likely dropped the starter motor in process, because the nose cone of the starter was broken, and the broken off piece was just dropped inside the transmission casing, hence the terrible sound. The shop took no responsibility for their f' up, even knowing that the starter was new, and still under warranty. Welcome to SK Auto! It was so loud and scary nearby cars were staring. I looked and looked and it wasn't anything obvious. It woke up the kids through all the closed windows and I pulled over. It was nearly 7 pm though and nothing was open. I called Welcome Woods and he said come on by. He could hear me coming! I was charged $928 for a thermostat and coolant and went back four months later for a replacement…read more Richard and Allan refused to help me due to their lack of knowledge and wanted me to come back again for Danny who installed the initial service and ripped me off initially. I've never been so demeaned for being a woman. I called back for a refund after the refused to service me. Meanwhile Richard the owner sat in my car and googled codes he wasn't able to fix. The issue? My mechanic told me later that the tube they replaced in April was leaking, and that's what they refused to fix due to what I believe is incompetence. I called the following day for a refund and Allan told me to come in again and I said I didn't trust their work after coming in and waiting. Allan was extremely rude and dismissive after my long wait to an empty shop. If you aren't in an emergency, or a woman, AVOID this place. They add things to the bill without asking (my initial visit I was charged $100 for coolant I didn't want). Reported to BBB. Awful service. After a lack of info and waiting without answer, I towed my car. The new and trusted mechanic said the coolant leaked and needed a new hose. No one at Jiffy lube answered basic questions and in fact couldn't even find the leak! An appointment to fix the issue never happened. The owner, Richard, spent an entire hour sitting in my car Googling basic diagnostic codes on his personal cell phone. He did not know how to fix the issue, yet I was still charged [Insert amount if you want]. Falsely claiming we scheduled a follow-up is an attempt to cover up a complete lack of basic expertise and a rip-off. Future customers beware.

Alan goes the extra mile for every customer with a well trained crew. He is on a first name basis with many of his returning customers and always greets you with a smile. If you have other mechanical issues, he also owns the Midas shop a few kms up Kingsway that does brakes, exhaust, and other major repairs. I highly recommend this location, especially if you are a fleet owner.
