Nice, big Wescom branch close to work, and conveniently located near the 5 freeway and City Drive. It's in a shopping plaza that still has a Best Buy (thought these closed down years ago), a Starbucks, and a Wendy's. I knocked off a star because only two tellers were working in the morning, and there was a bit of a wait. They do have a coin machine here in the branch - only one - could probably fit another coin machine given how big this branch is. Two ATMs upfront, but they are relatively older looking, so I opted to head inside to the tellers to do my cash transaction. They should consider upgrading their ATMs to the modern ones that SchoolsFirst recently rolled out county-wide. That said, the plus is that if you belong to a credit union, you can still pull cash fee-free from the Wescom ATMs in front of the branch. read more

I swear I never have problems with Wescom unless it's this branch. After today, I will not be visiting this location ever again. They said they can't accept third party checks which is a lie, it's my husbands check and I have had him sign his checks over to me and uploaded them on the app and had no problems. They said my husband needs to open an account, also one of the checks had both of our names on it and still wouldn't deposit it. What kind of bank is this? read more

This is completely horrible! I've been to there City of Orange Branch 6 times to help Wescom, get me the title to my vehicle, that I paid off in 2008. I do like their employee Daisy, she completely carrying this Wescom Branch on her back! Every time I've came here, I've had to wait! I've done everything to help Wescom get me the correct documents to get the title of my vehicle! Now, I'm being told from Daisy that she gave me the original documents and not copies of the documents! Well, I'm back here again with all the documents that Daisy from Wescom gave me. Purchase a new vehicle on Tuesday night from a dealership in Newport Beach. Next morning went on line to wescom com. e-filed all the doc's which took about 10 minutes. Received a message back saying I would be contacted a representative shortly, I was e-mailed and texted by Kaitlin Tran, Wescom Loan Adviser who asked if she could call me. 2 minutes later she walked me through the loan process verifying my doc's were in order which they were , she said it would take 1 hour. Phone rang a few e-doc's to sign and process done the check is on its way to the dealership ! A very Big Thank You to Kaitlin Tran for making the loan process so easy !!!! Luckily, Wescom and a few other branches are in the co-op network meaning they play nice with other credit unions and I can do my money business here with no issues. If you're in a rush, don't come to this location. You'll end up waiting beyond 30 minutes to just speak to an associate & not a teller. The stars are for the sole fact that the bank was so super busy. I waited for a total of almost an hour. However once the hour passed, everything was speedy & Gabby was very professional. They've stayed open but also made sure to make everybody feel safe. All the workers wear masks, there's sanitizer bottles everywhere, a greeter to help you navigate your way through the branch and most importantly genuine workers who are always there to help you with your needs. I was recommended by a family member to try Wescom for an auto loan, and I am so happy I did. The first member service representative didn't really make me feel comfortable that I was going to get approved for the loan when I left. But I was approved and got a call. I went in a second time with a different member (Julian C). I hit a small complication when I came for the 2nd appointment on my side, but he really helped me and I felt he went above and beyond to get me the auto loan. They have a member system that can give you many perks and it will definitely help save money in the long run, so I was happy to open an account. I'm shocked at the low reviews for this location. I work in banking as a Service Manager, so my Customers Service standards are unreasonably high when I enter a bank. I only met the teller for a brief moment, but he was smiling (always a good sign) The deal breaker here is Carlos Nunez - write that name down, corporate, and give this guy a raise! I walked in with a laundry list of annoying tasks. First off, I'm big on the little things: he stood up, walked over, and shook me hand. It seems simple enough but you'd be surprised how infrequent this is in customer service. He then went step by step and handled every tedious task with excellent detail and professionalism. The best part & most important part (in my book) is the follow up. He called me and emailed me to follow-up and make sure the process was completed to perfection. People like Carlos are the reason I remain loyal to Wescom (even though I work in commercial banking) - seriously, if you don't give him a raise I'll be back at his desk with a job offer. read more

Whoa, received a 6 page letter dated November 18, 2019 on a incident involving a third-party service provider that may have affected the security of my personal information. On May 14, 2019 an unauthorized party downloaded database backup files belonging to Geezeo, the provider for Wescom's eBudget service. Not sure why this information could not have been delivered to account holders email inbox, a bit lacking doing the minimum necessary to notify members. Wescom was notified by Geezoe of this incident on or about September 24, 2019. Reading about Geezeo, they do API, Responsive Tiles, and Smart Ad Tiles to create custom, differentiated digital banking experiences that translate into higher revenue opportunities and increased customer engagement. What did the file contain, historical Wescom member information dating from 2012, name, address, account number, account type, account (balance as of 2012), email address, gender, birth year, and user account information. Of course any issue with data safety downgrades trust -- I no longer have trust in Wescom as my financial service provider. Time to expedite and Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah to another financial service provider. I've commented before that Credit Unions are not like they were back in the 30s and 40s....when they get the size of Wecome they start to cater to their executives and board just the the shareholders of the other financial institutions. As of March 2019, Wescom ranks 60th largest credit unions in the United States and is based on assets reported by each credit union to the National Credit Union Administration. $3.48 Billion 23 Locations. Their newer branches I'm my area like Ikea if you like that look and feel. Wescom is overall fair my Relationship Score of them, they've lost touch with me as a member...as of Q4 2018, both FDIC and NCUA consider capitalization levels of banks and credit unions to be of high importance. Higher capitalization allows for a greater buffer when cover loans that may fail in the future. Wescom Credit Union has $3.48 billion in assets with $307.64 million in equity, resulting in a capitalization level of 8.84%, which is average. I'm not liking the average capitalization... read more

This Wescom branch has got to be the laziest branch around. I've had multiple services done here most done with attitude and laziness. They failed to notify me about a denial and didn't give my friend chance to become a member because there was 20 minutes to closing time and they need approximately 30 minutes to complete that process. I've never dealt with things like this at the Irvine Wescom branch. Just goes to show some reps are willing to go out of their way to make sure we get good customer service. read more

So these guys have definitely earned their 5 stars... I love MY bank and am always proud to say I bank with a credit union, especially Wescom. Thanks to my relationship there, I am happy to say that other members of my extended family have joined them too. I love this branch. Their service hours are great...The ATMs are convenient... The staff is friendly and always seem genuine about taking care of you. Cory Pramono and Carlos Nuñez, among others, have been great examples of spectacular customer service and follow-through. Yes, I agree with another reviewer who said Jennifer can be rough around the edges sometimes. I've experienced it firsthand and was not impressed. But it was just a matter of her not being very nice. In this instance, the inability to help me with my particular issue would have still been the same had anyone else fielded my concern. It just happened to be that I got someone who isn't the greatest at being the bearer of bad news. A little rude? Maybe... but I didn't take it personal enough to dock this branch a star. The recipe for great service is there and I'm hoping this was just a bad day for her... Overall, these guys will really earn your business and are willing to go the extra mile to do so. I have yet to personally meet the branch manager, Anthony Nowak, but I have already been fortunate enough to have experienced his kindness and goodwill too! Cory assisted me with one of those "special case" requests for consideration by a manger wherein I felt like I should qualify for a particular promotion even though on paper I didn't 100% meet the required terms/eligibility. Anthony was kind enough to agree to look into it further without simply saying "no"... and upon further review, I was pleased to hear that they were extending me a one-time courtesy as a gesture of goodwill! $100 credit in my account! The reason why I am putting 3 stars for Wescom Credit Union was for the hour long wait! Honestly, that is just horrible, horrible. When there is like about 10 people working or even more and some are not even attending customers. Some of them are just walking around or standing there like "what's next". Other than that, afterwards I finally got attended and her name was Kathy or Katie I do not remember, but she was really great! My parents always go to her and always has the best way to help them out in anyway she can as they tell me. I like how she had explain to me everything that there is know. First off,,I want to say, that I have a very, very long history with Wescom. When I say long,,,I mean long. I joined in 1996. I worked for Pacific Bell at the time,,,,,and this credit union was for "telephone company" employees. Since that time, Wescom has grown,,,but stayed amazing. Several years back,,,,I made some serious mistakes in life,,,like young people will,,,,and Wescom and I parted ways. I went to another credit union, whom Ive been with for a long time now,,,,and I hate them. I hate the other credit union SO much,,,that I realized how amazing I had it with Wescom. I realized how much I took Wescom for granted. Sounds like a love relationship,,,right? So,,,,,I pushed my pride aside, and crawled back to Wescom, and asked to come back. I went to this location,,,,,,which Ive never been to before. The customer service here is amazing. The managers are very nice, and professional. I had to jump through a few hoops to get back into Wescom, as a member, but it was fine. Ive been back at Wescom for a little over 5 months now. Yeah!!! I was just at this location yesterday to make a deposit,,,,,and when I got to the door, I was immediately greeted. I stood in line,,,,,and there were 3 people in front of me. I waited maybe 2 mins. I was in and out....and this was around 2:30pm, but its fast no matter when I go. Again,,,this location in particular has wonderful customer service. Wescom in general has amazing banking options. They are super easy to deal with,,,they are straight forward. Ive never, ever had a bad experience with Wescom. As I said,,,,I made a dumb mistake when I was younger, that led me astray. I've had this bank since I was 17 and I am twenty one now. I have always been responsible but an unfortunate break into my bosses car during our gym time and lost everything. I reported my card stolen. Closed the card right away. Had payment set to draft on that account and explained this to a rep there by Kayla or something with a k and spoke to those at the bank and let me know it was was fine for me to step in and pick up my card instead of waiting 7 business days. This bank has been so good to me. Thank you and I want to thank all the workers there that always answer the phone with so much energy. I have had maybe one or two not so helpful customer service reps in the many years I've banked there (since 2000 or so). Besides those two people who were not helpful, I have never had a problem with this credit union. The manager fixed it right up when the tellers did not offer quality, satisfactory service, earning 5 stars or even more in my book. They are on top of everything!!
