My experience at this place has been consistently and very subpar. Any materials I've ordered (contacts, glasses) have been messed-up or delayed without ANY concern by the doctor or his staff. From my experience, once they get your money, they couldn't care less. Everything here is disorganized and the customer service is among the worst I've received, in addition to the terrible experience of buying any materials. Only the best OD in West Hollywood. Great bed side manor and he really cares about every patient that walks through his doors. I've always had problems with glasses since I turned 40 not being able to use the Progressive because it's been wrong but since I've been using him as a doctor my glasses fit great I can see amazing out of them and they look great on me. So hands down the best. Don't go anywhere else. You get what you pay for. Being able to see with comfortable and correct glasses or contacts is very important. Also he is not bad to look at. Dr. Wheadon is the man. Best optometrist I've ever had. I went in for an emergency appointment because I suddenly couldn't see very well when driving one night and he thoroughly evaluated the issue and got me into an Rx that worked well for me. He did all of the post follow up care after my lasik surgery with another Dr. I really trust dr. Wheadon and he takes the time to understand your issue and give you the best treatment. Wes Wheadon is a fantastic Doctor, however the customer service is terrible. George Esparza, the optician on the team who heads up sales and service is cantankerous, condescending and unpleasant in addition to being disorganized. I purchased 2 pairs of glasses, which came weeks after the promised delivery date, and my sunglasses which which cost a pretty penny, lost all their color and went from dark green to beige. When I went back to see George, he said this was standard after a year, and I if had purchased anti-reflective coating , he would have replaced them. I did purchase AR coating on my regular glasses, but as you can imagine why would one purchase AR coating on sunglasses you do not wear when you are working on the computer? I was never told the color on prescription sunglass lenses would fade(in a year!), nor did George suggest I purchase AR coating on them at time of purchase. So essentially i am out $500, was served a side of George's unpleasant bedside manner, brushed off and shuffled out the front door. Lesson Learned...See Dr Wheadon, get your glasses elsewhere. read more

My daughter is not a patient of Dr. Wheadon, she is a patient of another optometrist very near by. That's important to note because I walked into Dr. Wheadon's office to have her glasses fixed thinking I walked into my daughter's regular doctor's office. They were busy when I arrived but Dr. Wheadon saw I was waiting and used a lull with a patient to ask me what I needed. I told him my daughter was a patient and her glasses were missing a piece that holds the left lens in and could he fix that for me? He replied, "certainly." He disappeared for a few moments and came back and said, "Here you go, all fixed with a better piece in there than the original but btw your daughter is not a patient here." I was confused and said, "Really?" I repeated her name and he graciously laughed and said, "No, from the frame I know your daughter is a patient at (other place here)." Of course he was right. Both places are so close to each other it's easy to confuse them if you're half paying attention as I was when I walked up. He did not charge me anything for the repair and couldn't have been more gracious. He could have easily said, "wrong place, go to your regular place up the street" and that would not have been the least bit rude on his part. Instead, he extended his kindness and took the time to do something for one of his competitor's patients. Seriously, who does that? A+++ customer service. I'm very grateful and impressed. I am so glad I found Dr. Wheadon in my west Hollywood neighborhood. He is so knowledgeable and friendly, going out of his way to help me find the perfect contact lens for distance and reading. Dr. Wheadon and his staff are just amazing! They are all very sweet. They're very friendly and helpful. I love them! He is super considerate; it's rare from any doctor. He has several suggestions for various issues and helps you to understand and choose the best that suits your needs and budget. They have a good choice of frames and if they don't have one you like, they can order something for you within 2 weeks. My husband actually switched from another doctor and now he also sees Dr. Wheadon and we're both very happy with the service we're getting here. I highly recommend and stand behind Dr. Wheadon's service as he has saved me money, time and from excruciating eye pain. I went in this past Wednesday as there was something underneath my eye ball causing irritation and what became extreme discomfort. I did not have an appointment but I explained what the situation was and they agreed to see me immediately. I waited less than 10 minutes, the doctor put my through a quick eye exam, saw that there was a hair growing inside my eyelid and promptly removed what he thought was most of it. The pain was gone but soon returned the next day when the hair protruded out once again. I called the doctors emergency cell # and he dropped what he was doing (ice skating practice) and came to the office to meet me in under and hour. He had arranged an ophthalmologist appointment for free if this second treatment didn't work and thankfully it did. It was less swollen the second day so he was able to get the entire hair follicle out. He gave me numbing drops and a soft gel contact to help heal the eye overnight. He even called the next day to make sure I was okay. All of this service cost me a very minimal fee (only for the first day) and I'm submitting to insurance to cover. I had a delightful conversation with both George and Barb about the glasses that I picked out and upon picking it up - had a first class experience in custom fitting of my glasses. I've never felt compelled to write a Yelp review before, but I have had one too many needlessly unpleasant experiences with this office. Deah, the receptionist, is one of the rudest people I've ever encountered in a professional setting. I just got off the phone with her, and she was yet again unhelpful, misinformed, and rude for absolutely no reason. I've been a patient for 3 years, and I absolutely dread having to deal with Deah over the phone or in person. I've never had this experience before with any other medical office in my entire life. It's truly baffling. It's a shame, because I really like Dr. Wheadon. He is friendly, personable, helpful, caring, professional, and spends a great deal of time with his patients. Unfortunately, as a patient, you'll deal mostly with Deah, and she is horrible. She definitely ruins what would otherwise be a great experience. As for dr Wheadon - great guy and terrific dr. I have been a patient of his for a few years. However, like a few of the other posters, I find the staff a bit of a challenge and sometimes rude. More importantly very little about this business is designed with the patient/customer in mind. They are only open four days a week. When they are open they close from 12.30-1.30 for lunch...and they close at 5.30. This includes eye appointments AND picking up your glasses. So good luck if you work regular biz hours or work out of the neighborhood. I work in Burbank. There are also strict signs all over the retail shop and lobby forbidding cell phone use. Again not very helpful to people who are most likely in the middle of their work day. The exam room I understand but come into the 21st century guys and relax a little. I enjoy going to this optometrist very much. I feel welcomed when I go there. Dr. Wes is knowledgeable, thoughtful with patients, and explains in detail issues with your eyes so that you are informed. Deah and George have always been helpful, professional, and friendly folks who kept me updated on my contact orders. I do wish that the prices were just a bit lower, but they are good, nice, friendly, and a group that I trust : and that's hard to find! However, he recently exceeded his normal standard of care. During a three-day holiday weekend I developed eye trouble and realized I needed to see him asap. When I contacted him on Sunday morning he didn't hesitate to offer to meet with me at his office later that afternoon. Naturally I thanked him profusely. His response was, "This is what I do. I help people." Upon arriving at his office he was, not surprisingly, utterly gracious and caring. I went into this location tonight just for a quick look at some glasses that I'm intersted in, and possibly make an eye oppointment. When I walked in the guy asked what I needed and looked at his watch. I kindly asked are you closing, he responded "yes in 6 minutes",it was actually 10 minutes because I looked at my watch. I said would you like me to leave, and he responds "no its ok to look around, but that's why we dim the lights so noone comes in." Well I thought that was extremely rude considering I could be a paying customer, and referral source. So I walked out. Never going back there again or referring any client's there. read more

Dr. Wheadon was my optometrist for almost 7 years (I recently moved out of town). He is very good and friendly. I always feel that I am getting professional, high quality service from him. He also spends a lot of time getting to know and speaking with his patients. I read the one review about Deah. I actually kinda of like her personality and don't find it to be a problem. Her personality may not be for everyone, but I have been very satisfied with the service I have received from both Dr. Wheadon and his staff. As a result of several eye conditions and surgery, it has for years been difficult to comfortably fit me with lenses and I have consulted several doctors. Dr. Wheadon is the first to find a solution. He worked with me over several follow-up appointments at no extra charge to find the best type and fit. I can wear lenses all day now without discomfort and could not be happier. This is a completely unbiased review. I moved from NY to Los Angeles 6 weeks ago. I've been to the top rated contact specialist in NY but still was having trouble finding contacts that were right for me. I can honestly say that going to him was the best thing I could have done. On my first phone call to his office, I was able to get him on the line and we had a 10 minute conversation about my situation and he gave several options we could try. I saw him the next day and his first option was better than anything I had in the past, although we decided to also try gas permeables which I just got back home with. Two days ago, I poked my eye and was scared I scratched my cornea. I called Dr. Wes on his day off and he called me back immediately and told me how to proceed. My eye was better in 4 hours and today I saw him to pick up my new lenses and for him to check my eye. I believe his fees are very competitive and he has been extremely fair with me. Not only is he absolutely knowledgable, but he's a super nice and caring man, and his list of famous people that he has worked with, is quite impressive. I have been a patient of Dr. Wheadon's for many years now and I am so happy I found him. He was referred to me with the statement, "If Dr. Wheadon can't help you, no one can". How true that is! I have referred him to many others telling them the very same thing. He is the best Doctor I have ever met. He is incredibly knowledgable and a joy to see. He will take the time to get you the best results possible and he really listens and is concerned. He has figured out problems I had when no one else could, due to medication I was given by my general doctor, who didn't have a clue. When I first went to him, many years ago, three other optometrists were unable to give me clear vision but he did. He is known though out the city as the go to eye doctor and has worked with many happy patients over the years. His staff is the best as well.
