We had ordered: entrance signage and balloons out front of the venue, five balloon bunches as table toppers, a large gold ring w/ balloons and a cream lounge chair, I even ordered tablecloths for the dining tables from Erika. The balloon gold ring back drop (for the photo ops) was SO adorable, everyone loved it. The table balloon bunches were perfect on the dining tables and the ribbons too, on the bunches were beautiful, many strings of ribbon and bows. It was beyond perfection and made the room so adorable. Erika and Suzy also came back after the party was over and gathered their items and helped tear down the balloons, which I really appreciated. Throughout the planning process, I was repeatedly reassured that the decor would look like the inspiration photos I provided. Nikki would tell me that she understood my vision and that it would be executed accordingly. Once the wedding came and I expressed that I was unhappy with how things turned out, her response completely changed and I was told that inspiration photos are "just inspiration" and that it was never going to look exactly like them. That was extremely frustrating considering the expectations that had been set for months beforehand. There were also several issues during the actual events. First when I entered the hall the stage wasn't even complete I had to call Nikki to come back and fiThe stage broke during my wedding, and the chairs provided were extremely poor quality to the point that multiple guests fell out of them. On one of my two event days, the decor was also not completed on time. After spending months planning every detail and trusting someone with such important events, these are not things you expect to be dealing with on your wedding day. I also found the way things were handled afterward to be extremely unprofessional. I specifically told Nikki that I did not want my wedding or event posted on social media. She still posted a video and then proceeded to block me on Instagram. She also made negative comments and started unnecessary rumors involving me and my wedding coordinator, who I absolutely loved working with and never had any issues with. My husband and my in-laws were also brought into situations and conversations that were completely unnecessary. I found this incredibly inappropriate and unprofessional, especially from someone we had trusted and worked so closely with for months. I put a lot of trust into Nikki and NC Event Designs for one of the most important times in my life, and unfortunately the experience was nothing like what I expected after 8 months of planning. I felt that a lot was promised throughout the process, but when it came time to deliver, the expectations that had been set were suddenly changed. Your wedding day is something you cannot get back or redo, which is why this experience was so upsetting for me. , I would never recommend NC Event Designs.

It is now the day of and I spoke with her this morning to confirm everything. She said she would send me an invoice, told me what time I could be there and even asked if our artist would be willing to host these events regularly. An hour later I get professionally crafted email (which she has NEVER spoken to me in this way) telling that since I failed to get this event approved or send in a contract or pay beforehand AND because she is double-booked, my event is summarily CANCELLED. I have promoted this event, collected payment and to cancel with less than FIVE HOURS to go is not just unprofessional but is close to criminal. Carolyn refused to answer my calls, her staff hung up on me and all she did was send me an email stating she has to be "fair and consistent". Fair to whom?? Stay FAR AWAY from either of these businesses as they are NOT well run!
