Nikki...Thank you for making my dream wedding come true and better! I randomly followed her instagram back in 2016 and thought to myself that if I ever marry, I'm going to hire her to design and decorate my wedding - 7 years later, I got my chance and I couldn't be happier. My wedding planner worked alongside with her to create this classy and elegant wedding that I was going for. All my guests were in awe in how the decor turned out from the ceremony to the reception. The highlight was the customized hanging cake stand which a lot of my guests couldn't stop talking about til this day. The price tag varies depending on your preference and your guestlist number. We had 135 guests attending and the price tag was not light, however, you need to take into consideration of their time, energy, and labor of love. At the same time, I wanted statement pieces like the hanging cake stand and the shelves to display my mini desserts elegantly. Everything from my wedding was mostly sourced from NC, such as the Kings table, flowers, table linens, chargers, utensils, and chair rentals. Overall, I'm so satisfied in how the result turned out and I cannot wait to have her decor my future events, like a milestone birthday. If you want an elegant and luxurious looking wedding, you will not disappoint from Nikki and her team!

I've had the pleasure of working with Nikki from NC Event Designs on two separate occasions. Both were weddings (Grand Island Mansion & Tsakopoulos Library Galleria) and each time that I've worked with her, I've been blown away by level of talent, skill and kindness that her team provides. To give you some background information on myself, I'm a wedding DJ and MC. I worked with Nikki as a vendor at the weddings. I do weddings about 2-3 times a month. I'm used to working with several designers and coordinators but Nikki takes the cake. Her team arrives early and completely transforms the venue. Out of all the weddings that I've done, I've yet to see a team of designers apply such a high level of attention and pride to their work. If I could give them 6 stars I would! Great job NC Event Designs

If you're having any big party, you have to go with NC Event Designs for design and decor! I met with Nikki a year before my wedding to go over vision and theme. A year later, she hit the Mark!! I wanted classic and timeless wedding with a touch of modern/ black accents. The decor and design speaks for itself -- incredibly luxurious and classy. All her designs have that WOW factor that most other designers lack (I've looked into many while shopping around). Thank you so much Nikki for creating my dream wedding!!!

I love to work with Nikki. She communicates well with me and give me a lot of suggestions. What you need to do is trust her. I know nothing about decoration, when i first met her, I showed her some pictures from pinterest and she knows what she needs to do and start imagining the best picture for my wedding. She also coordinate with the coordinator from the hotel during the planning and make sure everything will be in right order. On my wedding day, Nikki and her team did what they need to do to make my wedding ceremony venue and reception look as pretty as possible. She knows the bride will be crazily busy and tried not to bother me unless i had any special request. The coordinators from the hotel told me that Nikki is amazing. Hotel had some table numbers, but when Nikki saw it, she told the coordinator she has something better, and went back to their warehouse and brought in some prettier table numbers. She did her best to make my wedding looks great and elegant, all my guests love the decoration and most importantly we are happy with what we have invested.

Seriously, Nikki is no joke!! This girl knows exactly what she's doing to get the job done beautifully! Nikki did all of our ceremony/tea ceremony decor, flowers, the most beautiful wedding cake I've ever seen (from Ettores), our reception head table and centerpieces, sign-in table and even set up our Photobooth contract. Nikki and her team even put out all of our party favors even though they didn't have to! Honestly, if anyone has ever seen King Palace..it really doesn't look like much..at all.. but she made it look so amazing!! Everyone was shocked. I felt bad because I switched up the layout on her literally like two days before and she was able to get it done! I didn't know what to expect because she said she wanted to surprise me... and sh*t! I WAS BLOWN AWAY! Nikki is so incredibly sweet and super talented. Worth every single penny. You won't regret hiring her! Thank you Nikki for everything!

I found Nikki from Yelp and decided to choose her because she had 5 stars review and also had the best suggestion for our decors and flowers compared to other florists. Nikki did a great job on our round table centerpieces. * There was a major problem on our wedding day and Nikki did apologize when the curtain lights that they brought in were labeled warm white but were actually white, so they couldn't hang it. She refunded me $200 right away. The dancing area got very dark at night due to the missing curtain lights (see photo). This ruined my photo because that was the main backdrop of my wedding and I was envisioning it very clearly and I was very upset when we couldn't have the photos we wanted. It looked so obvious as if someone just did half the job or forgot to put up the rest of the curtain lights. The curtain lights also didn't go all the way up to the top so it also looked odd. At least, Nikki refunded me (it's a wedding, you can't just mess it up and then send refund), but I don't think that one single curtain light that was used was worth $600 (total was $800 for 3 curtains and she couldn't put up 2 curtains and only refunded me $200). I didn't think it will be worth the stress of going back and forth with her regarding the cost of it, so I just gave up at the end. * The sign-in table also looked quite messy with all those risers underneath messy linens. There are two broken crystals and missing candles (see photo). It could be the venue's fault, but I hoped Nikki could have seen and fixed it since we also paid her to decorate our sign-in table. * When we met at the venue 6 months prior, she was so certain she could hang all 6 chandeliers on all 3 trees. However, on the week of the wedding, she said her electrician couldn't hang on all 3 trees because there was no outlet far away. She tried to stuff all 6 on 1 single tree and it looked so crowded because of all the lights on 1 tree and the rest had none. I really didn't know why she thought all 6 chandeliers on 1 tree was a good idea. I wished she could have checked with the venue before hand to tell me that she couldn't hang and it wouldn't look good with all 6 on 1 tree, so we could have come up with a better plan earlier. Although her round table centerpieces were great and everyone here praised her, but I really cannot recommend her based on what my wedding turned out to be.

    She did an AMAZING JOB!!!!!

B R E A T H T A K I N G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN??? Nikki was the first vendor I immediately contacted after getting engaged. My husband and I knew that with the venues we chose (both the church and reception venues were outdated and old), we were going to invest in our wedding decor. That was extremely important to us. Seeing her work on her social media accounts, we knew she was the one to get the job done!!! Communication has always been easy with Nikki. We met Nikki for a consultation at a local Starbucks and she was very easy to talk to! Not intimidating at all... First and foremost she wants to know what you envision your wedding day to look like, and what services you are expecting from her. My fiance had a color scheme in mind, and that we wanted our wedding to be very glamorous. She took those colors and our "glamorous" concept in mind, and RAN WITH IT! She told us that typically she prefers for brides to allow for her to surprise them. Being the lazy bride that I was, and not very crafty, I agreed that I would let Nikki take full control of all decorations. SHE DID NOT DISAPPOINT! She fulfilled every promise, and we couldn't have been more pleased! She is extremely patient... As the wedding got close, of course I was very anxious and stressed out. Her being very responsive and professional made me feel at ease. She is very flexible in which I truly appreciated it. Nikki will have your best interest at heart. Being a Vietnamese bride, it's very common to have your wedding reception at Happy Garden (Chinese Restaurant that holds up to about 550-600 guests). This place from the exterior looks very discouraging and ugly. I knew the second that our guests pulled up to our wedding reception, they would think "WHAT IS THIS UGLY THING?! THEY'RE HAVING THEIR WEDDING HERE?!!?!?!" That is just an automatic reaction, something you cannot change. But I knew that the second they walked through those entrance doors, they would forget all about the ugly exterior. THAT IN FACT, HAPPENED! We have been told by many friends and family that our wedding was the prettiest wedding they've ever been to. Her keen eye for detail is incredible. We hired Nikki to do EVERYTHING! She draped the entire restaurant with these beautiful sheer white drapings. She put floor dropped linens on the table, gorgeous chair covers, uplighting, flower centerpieces, etc.! Keep in mind, Nikki can do more or less. It is all dependent on the bride and what the bride needs. I can go on and on about how amazing NC EVENT DESIGNS is. But their work truly speaks for itself. CALLING ALL BRIDES TO CONTACT NIKKI! She will be your wedding savior!!! THANK YOU NIKKI AND NC EVENT DESIGNS! You allowed for My husband and I to have such a beautiful wedding!!!!!!!

I will forever be grateful for Nikki. I originally wanted to have my wedding at a barn or vineyard but they were just out of the question because of the location or price. Nikki suggested the Croatian American Cultural Center and it was beyond beautiful. The vaulted ceilings, crown molding, the colors, the whole place fit everything rustic that I wanted. From the beginning all of my ideas and what I envisioned was getting shot down because it wasn't the typical wedding at Happy Garden. But Nikki was the one who listened to what I pictured, drew up amazing ideas, and she gave me the back bone to speak up for myself because in the end it was my wedding. I always thought it was so cliche to say that it turned out to be everything I imagined but it's literally what she did. i don't think I could ever find the right words to give it any justice how amazing she is. It's easy to see how passionate she is about her career. She definitely knows what she's doing. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't be anywhere close to being happy about my wedding as I am. She also did my makeup that day and I got so many compliments. I just recently got the pictures back and everyone kept saying that my makeup looks amazing. I seriously can't emphasize how amazing she is. She really is a great person to work with and wants nothing but the best for you no matter what. Thank you so much Nikki!!

**IF YOU WANT THE WEDDING OF YOUR DREAMS - HIRE NC EVENT DESIGNS** Words cannot even begin to describe how BEAUTIFUL my wedding was! I'm not being biased because it was my wedding. I honestly didn't know what my decor was going to look like until the day of my wedding. Out of pure luck, my fiance' at the time and I were looking for venues and while checking out a venue, we saw that the room was being decorated by Nikki and her brilliant staff. It wasn't even finished yet and KNEW I had to book her. Nikki is absolutely AMAZING!! When we met with her, she told me to describe my dream wedding and she would take care of the rest. And she really did! I received so many compliments on how beautiful our wedding was and I it was all thanks to Nikki and her staff. I didn't have a traditional cake table, but what she called a "hanging cake stand". It basically looks like your cake is floating. Everyone at my wedding said that they have never seen that before and were in awe. Nikki was also very involved with our baker and the design of our cake. Between the two of them, I thought that my cake was too gorgeous to eat! Nikki really listens to you and definitely knows what's best! TRUST HER JUDGMENT!! She asked if she could make our wedding venue a surprise and me being a SUPER Control Freak, I was a little nervous, but so glad that I let her. She seriously surpassed all my expectations of the wedding of my dreams! Not only is she amazing on transforming a room into an exquisite wedding venue, she is also really talented with make-up. I also hired Nikki to do my wedding make-up and couldn't have been more pleased. She really did make me look and feel beautiful! Unfortunately, I don't have any close-up photos, but hope my photographer captured some so I can post later. Bottom line.. you need to hire NC Event Designs!

When my wife and I were engaged, I hadn't given the actual wedding much thought. All the little things nobody tells you about can be really overwhelming. Fortunately we had Nikki as our planner and coordinator. She worked tirelessly and endlessly, especially considering the long distance (we are in OC and she is based in Sacramento), to make sure we had all our bases covered and make the wedding we had envisioned become a reality. Her responsiveness and energy made our wedding day a breeze. Nikki's understanding and vision of the wedding day is absolutely astonishing. Not only was she able to navigate and keep the cost within our budget, she did this all while making our wedding beautiful, modern, and elegant all at the same time. I highly recommend Nikki and her team at NC Event.

I was the bride that didn't know what she wanted. I used words like "romantic" & "whimsical" when I met Nikki and somehow she knew exactly what I was envisioning after meeting me once & showing me a handful of samples! If that's not talent, I'm not sure what is! I walked into the ballroom at Sunol's Casa Bella & couldn't believe what Nikki had done! It simply took my breath away & left me floored. She has a keen eye & knows what will work in any space/venue! Nikki also decorated & draped the pergola where the ceremony was held. My guests & I were left in awe. Everything was PERFECT! (I'll let the pictures speak for themselves). I can't express enough gratitude towards Nikki & her team for all they did on our special day. They surpassed all of my expectations! I cannot explain how fabulous Nikki is! After My very first meeting with her I knew I couldn't go to anyone else for my wedding decor. I was pretty open on what I wanted for my reception decor so I completely trusted Nikki's vision and capabilities with the little information she needed from me. Being a Vietnamese bride in Sacramento it's pretty common to have the reception at Happy Garden as it would be the most accommodating for a 550-600 guest count. I knew with Nikki's talent she would be able to transform the interior to beyond belief. The goal was to have the stage area/head table the main focus in the room and that is exactly what I got. I did utilize another company for the all around draping (which Nikki understood and still was able to work with me on it) but the stage area was absolutely breathtaking. The lace she used was so gorgeous and she really made sure every detail stood out. I used her services for the stage backdrop, head table, cake table, all table covers, chair covers, instant photo backdrop, sign in table, and lighting. I could go on and on about how great Nikki was but the pictures will speak for itself. Five stars is not enough! I highly recommend NC Events & Design!

Whimsical Garden Tea Party- Bridal Shower

    * Best decision of my life ( other than marrying my husband of course )* I had a few wedding vendors that were disappointing to say the least, Nikki recognized that and did whatever she could to really help me and make my wedding planning as seamless as possible. I really appreciated everything that she did. Nikki's work was the best part of all my wedding festivities. We hired her for my bridal shower, two pre-wedding events and my wedding. After every event I was more and more confident that she will do an amazing job on my wedding and she did not disappoint!! Everything was GORGEOUS! I saw my wedding hall a few minutes before the guests came in and I literally had tears in my eyes. It was EXACTLY how I envisioned my wedding to be. Thank you Nikki for making my dream wedding come to life!

My partner and I have been talking about doing our first high tea experience for the longest time,…read morebut couldn't find anywhere local. Then on Valentine's Day, he surprised me and said he found this place. Initially it was fully booked and our reservation was for outside on a cold afternoon, but we showed up early and the staff was super cool and had a seat for us inside. I'm so glad we got to sit inside because I was admiring the lovely interior. They had fun couches, lovely chandeliers, and various flower arrangements. The day we went, it was fully booked, and we sort of got lost in the mix initially when the staff was explaining things, but once they figured out it was our first time the staff was super eager to explain things to us. We tried a couple different teas, enjoyed all the different sandwiches and deserts. Normally I only drink iced teas, and so they were super cool to provide me with a glass of ice so I could enjoy my teas. My favorite one was the first one they poured, which is the Obstinate Headstrong Girl. Overall we had enough time to only taste two teas, so we will for sure have to come back to try the rest. The owner was super friendly, I explained to her that normally I don't like scones but their scones were tasty and different. She explained a little about her technique, experiences in Europe and what separates theirs from all the rest I've tried. It was a fun experience, made for a very memorable Valentine's Day, and will for sure be back in the future to try more teas!

We arrived about 30 minutes early and were told to wait since we were early and it was freezing outside. As it got closer to opening, people began lining up, and once the doors opened it was pretty much a free-for-all. At that point the server became instantly busy, which is understandable. They did appear to be running behind, as we were seated about 10 minutes after our reservation time. The space itself is very tight, you're practically seat-to-seat with other guests so be ready to suck in and say excuse me! The decor is cute and clearly trying to create a high-tea vibe, but it's still in a strip mall, which feels a bit odd for a tea room, again they did their best. We were seated on green velvet couches (very pretty), but the table sat below knee level when seated. A taller table would make a big difference so you're not constantly reaching down for your tea and bites. There were about five tea options listed, but the tea was selected for us. It was good, fruity and fragrant, but I'm more accustomed to tea service where each guest gets to choose their own blend. Also worth noting: my teacup and my mom's both had lipstick on them (queue- "eeyuckk!"), so we asked for replacements. Our waitress was very sweet and talkative, but she was also the only server for our half of the room, which definitely showed. I let them know I don't eat meat and asked about vegetarian sandwich options--unfortunately everything was already plated. That one's on me for not asking ahead of time, but it's something to keep in mind. Upon sitting, we were offered champagne or sparkling juice, we obviously chose champagne, duh! The first bite served was a homemade vegetable quiche, small but good. Next came the tiered stand of tea sandwiches and desserts. Maybe I'm spoiled by high tea places like the Rotunda at Neiman Marcus or at The Palace Hotel, but the variety and quality here were just... okay. The sandwiches included coronation chicken (which I didn't eat), a brie (couldn't really taste it) and fig that honestly tasted like a PB&J on slightly stale wheat bread, and a cucumber sandwich that was good but tiny, half-dollar sized. I ordered another one since it was the only sandwich I really enjoyed. Not sure if we were charged for it, but I assume so. Each of us received a raisin scone, which was more like a biscuit with raisins in it, but decent. We had to request lemon curd and Devonshire cream which is typically the provided at tea. The dessert tier included red velvet cake, a peppermint cream puff, and an apple pie bite. I didn't try them as they didn't really appeal to me and felt "frozen". I did notice in another review that someone mentioned the same thing and the owner responded that desserts are made in-house. That could be the case, but based on my catering background and the server saying they order elsewhere, I personally didn't get that impression. That said, my mom and grandma did enjoy the red velvet cake and cream puff. We ended up inviting our server to sit and chat with us, and she was genuinely lovely. We also acknowledged how busy she was, because... wow. Bottom line: kind service, very tight seating, and a pleasant overall experience, but if you're used to a more elevated high tea with better quality, customization, and variety, this may fall a little flat. $225 for three guests. Would I come back? Maybe, maybe not. But we still had a good time together as a family, and that counts for something.

It was on the smaller side, didn't have much bacon, and even with the preserved tomato aioli it felt a bit underwhelming. The breakfast potatoes also weren't really my favorite. They were small whole potatoes with the skins on and heavily seasoned with cayenne pepper. Personally, I would've liked another side option such as fresh fruit. That said, the staff was very friendly and welcoming throughout the visit. For two croissant sandwiches, two iced teas, and a side of fries, the total came to around $70 with tip, which felt a little pricey for the overall experience. The property itself is beautiful. It looks like they host live music and events in the outdoor quad area, and I noticed they also offer wood-fired pizza after 11 AM, which honestly sounds worth coming back to try. Overall, I have mixed feelings as the atmosphere and service were great, but the food didn't quite live up to expectations for me personally.

Shoutout to the West Sacramento/ Clarksburg area…read more... The Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg is a historic beet sugar refinery from 1934-1993 that has wine shops and tasting rooms for local wineries. They have over a dozen wineries. Wine tastings average $15 and most wineries waive the fee if you buy a bottle. They have wine shops in the main building and in the other building. Don't forget to walk back and to the right to the shops in the separate back building, there is 3-4 more wineries. Each winery are literal walled shops with their own seating areas. Temperature controlled which is nice on hot summer days. Each have their own wine tasting, food offerings, and special events. Old Sugar Mill is less than 15 minute drive from downtown Sacramento. The buildings are beautiful. They kept the historic brick walls and exterior. It has a modern shabby chic look. Three different brands owned the refinery. It all began in 1934 with Amalgamated, American Crystal Sugar Factory (1936-1982), and Delta Sugar (1983-1993). The sugar was refined by local Northern Californian grown beets. The buildings was renovated in 2000 for its current use. Awesome concept and beautiful architecture design. They also host weddings and events. They have a banquet room with slideshow equipment. There is also an outdoor lawn and adjoining paved patio area that is shaded in the afternoon by the buildings that would make for a gorgeous wedding venue. On hot summer days, the Delta breeze kicks in for instant cool down. No outside food are picnics are allowed. On the weekends, they have food trucks. Plus the majority of the wineries sell food (appetizers) as well. Also no pets are allowed (excluding service animals). The restrooms are located right by the front entrance.

They have many events here, including private events and wedding. The upcoming event is Port and Chocolate for Valentine's Day. That sounds so delicious. I loved chocolate and my husband is always up to trying another port. Parking- They have a private lot and we were able to easily find a parking spot right in-front of the entrance. Bathrooms- They have many stalls in the bathroom located to the left of the entrance. Temperature- It's cool inside, a little too cool for us today. It was 63 degrees out today and warm in the sun. I bet in the sweltering heat of our summers this is the perfect place to be. The Sugar Mill is an indoor venue. They have three different building with different wineries at this time. So, there is a little walking outside. Wine Barrels- You can buy half wine barrels for your garden for sale. Seating- They have lots of little seating areas. Inside they have a whole room with seating and nice decor. The tables are draped in white table cloths and there are stacks of wine barrels as the back drop. They have a palm court in the back and it's so quaint and beautiful. Perfect for sipping some wine slowly and chit chatting with friends. If you are looking to sit in the sun there is are a set of tables and chairs out back near the food truck. Ambiance- I love the location and building. It's an old Sugar Mill that produced sugar from sugar beets. That industry has now ended and it's now a place to visit many wineries. It's the only place that I know of that have numerous wineries and offer wine tasing for a minimum fee.

What's the craic? Fairfield/Suisun's best local winery might just be Bally Keal…read more My best friend and I were kicking off Memorial Day weekend with some wine tasting and ended up stumbling across Bally Keal after another nearby winery left us underwhelmed. We noticed the beautiful property, the giant wine glass sculpture, and a sign for live music on Friday night, so we decided to stop in. Jeff greeted us at the door and immediately made us feel welcome. After hearing we enjoy sparkling wine, he poured us a taste of their Brut, which was crisp, refreshing, and good enough that we ordered a bottle to enjoy while the band set up. The atmosphere here is fantastic with comfortable seating, a lively crowd, and genuinely friendly staff like Jessica & Jeff. They also shared a little history of the winery and introduced us to some of their house-made spirits, including a surprisingly smooth vodka crafted from Chardonnay grapes. My friend especially loved their tequila selection. Once Sixty Scandals started playing their '80s covers, the place came alive. People were dancing, laughing, and just having a great time. We even ended up making a few new wine friends during the evening. Before we left, my friend joined the wine club, and we walked out with bottles, hats, and plans to come back soon. We also had the chance to meet the owner, who was humble, welcoming, and clearly passionate about creating a fun community space. If you're in the Fairfield/Suisun area, Bally Keal is absolutely worth checking out. Cheers / sláinte!
