Hello, I took my mom to Wepaa and we both had the tostones rellenos but mine was with chicken and hers with shrimp. It was very good and highly recommended, the place was very nice and clean. The only negative about it from me would be that there was NO handicap ramp, that is NO BUENO! I had to take my mom up and down the stairs which was ok for her right now but those who are in wheelchairs, etc. would not be able to get into the place. Unless the ramp was on the far right opposite of the handicap parking spaces I did not see any ADA accommodations. But I will still give it a 4 out of 5 because the food as really good and the décor reminded me of my island!!!! read more

Well, let me first say, that I am a white Anglo, with taste buds set for excitement and adventure. I got NONE of that here. Very dry plantains, ordered fish with a spicy addition, nope. Got the fish, no seasonings whatsoever, not even salt. Sadly, I live close by, but will not be back. read more

I'm so disappointed I could cry! When I saw the menu online I was so excited I thought I had hit the jackpot of Puertorrican food. I just wasted $18.00 on a "chuleta can can" that looked like it was microwaved. What is supposed to be crispy chicharrón was soft and poorly cooked and the meat was hard and tasteless like a shoe sole. The mofongo was tasteless as well the only thing I could taste in it was the garlic. The only thing I was able to eat was the alcapurria. It wasn't awesome but it was edible. We were told that a new Puerto Rican restaurant was open in the Largo area, so my wife and I decided to visit. We were disappointed with the food. The first visit was the food was ok, the Chuleta can can was dry, rice and beans were ok, the little salad was good (Nothing can go wrong with a salad). The second visit was not good at all. We ordered two red snapper, the fish was dry and bland, I ask for Yuca frita and got something that looked and tasted like Goya frozen yuca sticks or croquetas de yuca, I was expecting real yuca. The Garlic sauce was more butter and garlic and once again, the salad was ok. It is my believe that they do not represent the authentic Puerto Rican food and used frozen products. We had a few questions about the menu and the waitress was not able to answer because she did not know about Puerto Rican cuisine. Location is great and easy access, parking is limited. Staff is a bit rude and lack of cuisine knowledge. read more

Today rating is based on a service issue. Waitress greeted us and assumed everyone spoke Spanish. Moving on .. table of 5 we ordered 2 beers, 1 coco Rico and 2 Pina Coladas I ordered the Pina Colada about 1/4 of the way I wondered if there was even alcohol so we asked the waitress , her response was you didn't ask for alcohol (nor did we ask for a virgin) she then asked is we wanted to reorder the drinks and that was a yes with alcohol. She came back with drinks they were very light in alcohol. (We were billed full price for the 1/2 drunken non alcoholic beverages we drank more while we waited for our remade drinks (it was hot and we were sitting outside ) we ordered our food while the waitress haggled with a personal call she shared she was on hold for 40 minutes the other waiter brought her the phone she was distracted then rambled the order again in Spanish super fast and rushed we knew her call was holding and tried to be courteous and understanding but in truth it was a mess... one plate came back wrong her response was after I assume looking up the order as she left and came back then stated I read it back to you so that's what you ordered. We paid full price and still tipped her properly (20%) however as a I thought about it I thought to share if your drink is a mixed drink don't assume it will have alcohol and when they repeat the order have them slow down set aside personal matters and give you full attention. She wasn't mean but she almost blamed us for all the errors also wasn't taking any responsibility as a server you ask the questions and you review the order with each person carefully and slowly. She spoke only to the people who spoke Spanish. The 3 stars are for the food it was good. We were visiting from out of state so we are not familiar with how to order drinks but lesson learned :) wish you all a better experience. read more

Gave this place a try because I wanted my white wife to try some Puerto Rican food, I had the tripleta sandwich which was amazing. The rest of the food was a 6/10, and the service was a big fat 0. Sat us down, gave us the menus and ordered our drinks. When they came back we ordered the food everything normal. Asked them for some utensils cause they didn't have any at the table, also had to ask for napkins and some sauce for the tostones (which every Puerto Rican knows goes with mayoketchup). To make it all worse once my drink was done I put it on the right side so the waitress would see it... nope. Completely ignored. Had to have some of my wife's drink before I decided to be a pain in their ass and once more ask for my drink to be refilled. It's like they completely forget about you. Decided to give them a second chance, (mostly because the sandwiches are good af, not gonna lie) this time I was with my whole family. Inside was full so the waitress cleaned some tables outside, helped us put the tables together. As we sit down she disappears, 15 minutes go by before my dad decides to go inside and ask for a menu. Another 15 mins to bring us our drinks, and a whole hour for the food before my dad decided to cancel the order.. ended up not canceling cause they said the food was almost out. I still had to leave cause my daughter was with me and started to get fussy but never again. I'll just call in an order whenever I want another sandwich and just do a pick up, cause again the service it's what's going to kill this place. read more

Visit the restaurant today and it was a wonderful experience. My first time and I will go again. The food was great, the Mofongo was outstanding. The service was excellent. Vine a vivir a la Florida en el pasado diciembre y es la primera vez que visito el lugar. Me encanto la comida y el servicio. El mofongo sobre todo es espectacular, no seco y con mucho sabor. Worst customer service ever. First time here and had to walk out after waiting 20 minutes with no service. Totally disappointed with my meal from Wepaa today. I ordered a Guava delight and got something that had absolutely no guava in it and a stale pastry. Then they forgot the beans and the malta in my order. The food was cold and the meat was hard. I only ate the alcapurria. Waste of money!!! read more

My GF and I are going to PR soon and was so excited to hear of a PR restaurant nearby to satisfy the urge of wanting to be on vacation and give us a taste of what we were in store for once vacation starts. We sat there and waited for 15-20 mins before we got a waitress. Order two beers and waited for another 15 before we got those. When she finally came back we ordered our appetizer and food. At that point we nursed the beers for the next 30 mins before we got our appetizer. Brought out not by our waitress. The girl put it on the table and bolted. It was horrible the blood sausage that is a comfort food for me was so dry and over cooked it made me almost want to leave. I was doing what I could to just keep light of the situation but still no waitress, no drink refills, no main course. 20 mins later the food comes out by our waitress the food Is ok at best. Needed mayo-ketchup just to help get it down. Mofungo was somewhat dry and only the pork was ok, not great, just ok again at best. It was expensive and I had to flag down some random girl for my check because at this point I've not seen the waitress since the food was brought out. This was very depressing and almost made me second guess going to PR on vacation. I'm hoping PR can make me forget that place existed. read more

Stumbled upon this place after a doctors appointment in the area. I was VERY excited to see a Puerto Rican restaurant, as a Puerto Rican who just moved to the area. The service was excellent! She was very attentive. The place was bare. You can tell this is a start-up restaurant. I thought the kid drawings on the front of the menu were cute, as well as cost effective. The food wait was very long. I chalked it up to, I prefer it be cooked to order than thrown in a microwave. So the wait didn't bother me, and I wasn't in a rush. New Restaurant Puerto Rico food. Churrasco was great! Original and great for Happy Hour, Lunch or Dinner. It has an outside terrace. Great music! Hopefully they maintain it authentic and create happy hour specials! read more

Had the Red Snapper. Wonderful. No one else in the place, about 4 in the afternoon on a Tuesday. Construction going on about ten feet away. Still had a great time and the food was, well, amazing! I hope your experience is the same. read more

First time coming here. First impression was the service was horrible. Waited 10 minutes for one of the girls who were chatting to pay attention that we were right next to the station and we haven't clearly been served yet. Waiting another 10 minutes because she forgot the drink. We ordered the can can chop which was okay, wasn't a fan. Felt like we kept waiting and waiting. Won't return. read more
