So I just wanna give everybody a fair warning that if they think Wendy's will be a great great job to work at especially to go to college or if you're in high school, think fucking wrong. I am a college student single mom who's working two jobs or at least was working two jobs until this morning. I was notified through a dayshift store manager that I will no longer be working at Wendy's because I called in twice and that apparently shows that I'm not good at working dayshift, According to the GM Cheryl. according to the GM Cheryl, I am irresponsible to work dayshift so because of her thinking, she decides to take me off the schedule completely basically terminating me or letting me go, and according to the dayshift shift manager, she said that when she called Cheryl to ask her why I wasn't on the schedule those reasonings shown above is what Cheryl told the dayshift manager, but the dayshift manager also let me know that it also sounded like she had other things to say, but wasn't willing to say it on the phone. I also wanted to let people know that I did not receive no email, no phone call,Nothing letting me know that I was terminated or let go and nobody else in the restaurant knew of this either because the only thing that they knew was that my name was crossed off for my shift on Saturday, but it ended up showing up because I know which confused a lot of people. But what confused me the most was why would someone crossed off my name without someone calling me or emailing. But what also confuses me on why the GM Cheryl could not email me or call me to let me know the reasoning on why she did what she did or gave me a warning. But I can tell you don't handle things in a professional setting like you said you do because if that was the case you would've gave me a warning or pulled me to the side and let me know what was going on or call me or you would email me what's going on and you did none of those things. On top of that nowhere in your handbook or policies does it say that I can't call out because my child.my child is 11 month old she is still a baby so if I'm calling out because she is sick with an upper respiratory issue or I have to go fill out paperwork because I'm dealing with baby daddy issues, I think those are viable and reasonable reason to call off work. I can understand if I was working on a corporate type of position where if I call out for two days and that does seem reasonable, for me to call off but im not I'm working in a fast food setting. I told you when I got hired that if anything happens to my child, I will call in and deal with my child's issues. You also knew that I had a second job and You also knew that I was struggling with bills and that was the reason Why I needed to work this job. you agreed and gave me that position now that I've only been working a month and called out twice that's an issue. The policies that I posted on this post with them is about changing availability, which means that they can basically fire you if you change your availability. But I never change my availability. Availability is always been the same, especially when I got hired the only issue that I had to call out because my child had an upper respiratory infection in her chest, and I had to deal with some paperwork that revolved around my baby daddy that was it those only two days that I called out, but that was a big issue for her other policies post at Wendy's, which of their employees do still food especially if they're just snacking around they're gonna be snacking on everything nobody brings up anything unless it's their free meal that it's free to grabs. Especially to the GM one day she came in with her grandchildren and just started making sandwiches and shit. Never paid for them and never typed in her employee meal Nothing just walked out with a bunch of sandwiches. so basically I never violated a policy of Wendy's. And if I did it was make up after that phone call that I had this morning. read more

I use to work here for about 3 years, and they treated me very poorly. During my last year here, the General Manager, Cheryl Brown, changed my pay rate from $12.00/hr to $9.00/hr without my consent. She told me with her own words that my pay rate was $12.00/hr (she even showed me the computer screen which she obviously changed after I left the staff office) and little did she know I check my paycheck stub every pay day. When I checked it, it said $9.00. I told her that there was money missing and that pay rate was not what I was told. She did, however, do the right thing and made sure I got my deposit of this missing money of about $300. This place was not a good place to work for because they are sexist. They always made the women/girls take orders and make drinks. All of the men did the harder things like washing the dishes and then RUNNING back to the first window to collect the customers money. One time I worked an 8 hour shift on "back cash" having to run back and forth from the dish station (hand washing them) and the first window in the drive thru. They made all the men operate the grill, fries, and maintenance. Women can do maintenance too, because scrubbing the parking lot in VERY cold weather is not okay to do everyday. Places like this don't care about your well-being. Now, I did quit because they were willing to risk the health of the customers. I had a manager named Candace who told me over the phone after I tried to call in because I was SICK, that I "NEEDED to come in because you called in yesterday and we were short staffed." I told her that day that I was sick and she still argued and refused me my sick day. All this Wendy's cares about is their STUPID drive through times and dropping more fries and nuggets. They also made us go on break too early. There were MULTIPLE times (30+) that I would come in for a 7am shift and then tell us to go on break (not paid of course) at 8am. Why am I going on break at 8am if I clocked in an hour ago? I also worked with a manager named Andrew and his wife who were really cool. His wife, was really fast at making sandwiches. Also they're chili is made from OLD meat that we didn't use for burgers. DO NOT WORK HERE AT ALL. For UCM students, if you need a quick dollar to make your way through college, that's okay but this job is not worth any extension time of employment. read more

I was very excited to get a job but if I were an undercover boss this General manager would be demoted. Poor training and did schedule me on a day I had to take another job, Cheryl Brown has been nothing but short and rather rude to me as our personalities obviously clash. I am just sorry for her as she is losing a great and honest person. I have heard nothing but good from everyone but one other employee at this place about Cheryl Brown. I just wish for real I was able to let her bosses know how she can treat a person who is trying to get established after moving. i like wendy's food and the staff but today i went to get a frostys key tag on the wendy's sign it said key tag for frostys for 2020, the store was out of tags and the corporation responded quickly and drove more tags down to make sure i got them, this is probably the most stand up business i have ever dealt with. i will for sure use the wendy's regularly if for no other reason then they stand behind there word and product. great going wendy's read more

Just one of the local eateries in this college town. However, I really don't like throwing away good money for bad food. Two stars for convenient location. Went through the drive - thru and ordered two single combos. Simple. We took the food home to eat, and the only good thing was that the soft drinks were cold. The burgers came out the window too quickly to be freshly cooked. The meat was dry around the edges. The buns were okay, but the tomatoes were green. The French fries were definitely the dregs, surely leftovers. No taste, burnt ends. Oh, Wendy's. You disappoint me. waited 10 minutes or more in line at the drive thru just to get cold food, the oatmeal bar was barely warm and the biscuit wasn't cooked all they through. They said to bring it back in for a replacement or refund....They were more worried about unloading the truck instead of helping their customers and serving edible food.
