Came on Halloween, didn't expect to be waiting 20 mins in line for them to tell us when we got to the window that the drive thru is closed cause short staff. Complaint not against workers but against their management team. Knowing it's Halloween, how could u not have enough staff for Halloween? Poor several workers in their look stressed. This use to be a better Wendy's to get food from. But recently they been slacking on it. They always get our order wrong. My girl would order a Baconator and they give us some other type of burger. This happened a few times. Just now I went and ordered the Krabby Patty meal. I decided to check it right when I got it, and I should've looked at it better, because I thought it was good. When I got home I realized the burger I got was something else. Had an egg on it and bacon and I looked up the Krabby patty meal it doesnt have bacon or an egg. So disappointed. I ordered Grilled Jalapeno Popper Sandwich, no cheddar cheese sauce. They put cheddar cheese sauce and took out jalapenos. It was just chicken sandwich with bacon. My lunch time was ruined. My husband's order came out fine. They ran out of receipt paper but told my husband that receipt will be in a bag. My husband called them to complain about my order and told about missing receipt and was told that they ran out of paper. Tried Wendy's new breakfast sandwiches. We used their app to get their BOGO (2nd) Croissant for a $1; and a free Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit w/any purchase. The Croissants I chose were their Bacon, Egg, & Swiss & their Sausage, Egg, & Swiss. Verdict - the Croissants were pretty good especially w/an over-easy egg in there, and the croissant was soft, but I prefer the bacon one. I also liked the Honey Biscuit Chicken which was sweet & the chicken was pretty moist. As for their coffee; ($1.49 for the small & large size) it's just average; I would pass on it. They should use a local blend rather than a mainland one. They have a Maple Bacon Chicken Croissant that looks interesting; maybe next visit. I used to love going to Wendy's, but tonight has changed my perspective on this company. When I finished ordering my food. I drove to the last window to pay for my meal. But, when I asked for a receipt the supervisor just walked away and never returned. Then I had to ask the other cashier for the receipt and no expression. I don't usually review fast food but the food and customer service we received tonight was excellent. We were greeted when we walked in. There was no line and not much people inside as it was turning 8 pm. Dominic took our order and was very polite. We ordered a full Parmesan Caesar salad, full southwest avocado salad and 10 spicy nuggets since they're back. We also got a medium drink. Once we made our order my other half sat down and I went to fill our drink at one of the two soda machines. Walking back to my seat, Dominic was walking to our table with our food. I was surprised it came out so quick and that he came to serve the food. Usually they call our name and we pick up the order. The food was good. My chicken was fresh and looked so appetizing. The Caesar dressing was good as well. The salad wasn't soggy and was fresh. If you like avocado the southwest avocado salad would be a good choice for you. Lastly we got a sugar cookie and boy do their sugar cookies hit the spot. read more

Our order, 2 meals and a bowl of chili, took forever as there was only one person working the counter and everyone else catering to drive-thru. The french fries were soggy, there was no ice in the soda machines and one of the machines had no carbonation and every drink button you pushed said unavailable. If you want to eat inside I'd suggest you go thru the drive-thru, pick up your food, and then take it inside to eat. Probably be way faster as they only cater to the drive-thru. read more

This Waipio location has improved 100%! The manager is super cool at the drive-thru! And I'm glad he stuck it out, cuz he got some new employees and now they're quick, efficient, and really nice! About 2 months ago I gave up on going thru the drive, cuz it took forever (sometimes 20+ minutes) to order and get my food. I switched to ordering carry out online, but even that took a while, since they wouldn't start making it till I got there. I almost gave up completely on this location. With the new crew, I went to the drive-thru last night and it took less than 5 minutes! And my carry out order in the past few days was ready by the time I got there. Awesome service and the food! Went there on my way to work on two separate mornings only to find the whole place dark. I drove thru the drive thru and found workers waiting outside. They told me the manager did not show up so the employees can't start preparing anything. Then last night I go through the drive thru at 6:25pm & there are four cars ahead of me. I had to repeat my order at least three times. By the time it was my turn at the pick up window, it was 6:51pm. Such a terrible experience. The service & the food is zero stars! First, the guy taking our order sounded very miserable to be at work. At the window we were served the wrong drink at which he corrected it with a non happy grin and shrugged shoulders. On Sunday after Church i brought the family to Wendy's for lunch ..... The 4 for 5 deal is a good value when I stop here, but I went for the Daves Single for this Burger Mini Series. Dollar for Dollar, Pound for Pound this is a good value where I can get a burger, or complete meal, that actually taste like a burger, and without even crossing into the $10.00 range Other notables I get is the grilled chicken salad, spicy nuggets, and when I really want, the chili. I'm loving their mobile order app!!! There's always a great deal on their premium sandwiches. Last night I ordered 2 Big Bacon Cheddar Crispy Chicken sandwiches & a biggie meal on the app and my total was less than $16. Staff is normally extremely friendly. The drive thru line can occasionally get a little long or move slowly but still tolerable. In my opinion the quality of fast food compared to the near by drive thru establishments is the best here. I don't ever post negative reviews but it was horrible tonight at Wendy's Waipio drive-thru. I waited a half hour for nothing no food no service and when I called the restaurant to let them know that I had been waiting for 15 minutes all the person could say was they're shorthanded. I told him I wanted to get out of that drive-thru line and he said well cannot do anything, and I just gotta wait so I had to wait an additional 10 minutes to get out of the drive-thru. It seems that the manager, the store manager, general manager, whoever is running this Wendy's could have done a better job by asking the person in front to move and park on the side if their order was gonna take that long to allow the rest of us to either leave or they could've continued to take orders I've been to many other fast food restaurants that are shorthanded, and they seem to find a way to run their drive-thru efficiently. Unfortunately, I cannot give this restaurant any stars because really even one star is one star too many. I will never return to this Wendy's because to me the manager doesn't care. I get it that you're shorthanded, but I think there's a better way of handling it and I think there was a better answer that I could've received. I ordered at the window around 8pm, there were no other cars when I pulled in. I ordered 2 meals one for myself and one for my daughter. They asked me to park in front to wait for my food so I did. A few moments later another car parked next to me. A young looking employee walked out with 2 bags and didn't know which belonged to who so he gave the other car both bags and said "ok bye" before he walked away the other car stopped him and gave him back one of the bags and told him that they only ordered 1 meal which the employee handed to my daughter in my passenger seat, I told him I had a 2nd meal as well but he reached into my car and took the bag from my daughter and walked away. He went inside of the building I tried to tell him that was part of my order but braddah just walked away. Then he sent a second employee out to hand me the same bag the first guy had. I told the employee that I was still waiting for my second meal. THEY SENT THE HAOLE MANAGER OUT TO ASK ME WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS LOL. I gave the manager my receipt and showed him what his employees brought me the manager looked annoyed and went back in and came back out with my 2nd bag with a fake grin and told me "have a good night sorry for the confusion and complications" through his teeth! All the food was cold and the fries were hella salty and soggy. I seriously don't get what the "confusion" was or why they sent a manager. I wasn't rude or anything, I didn't get why the first guy couldn't just hand me my food and come back with my 2nd bag after, whatever. Just ordered a pumpkin cold brew and this is what I got. I didn't realize it looked like this until I got home and opened the lid. It looks like curdled milk. Is this how the pumpkin cold brew looks like? It didn't taste right. Maybe the person who made it made it wrong? Does cold brew come with frosty? I just picked up lunch via the drive thru. I had the Wendy's New Chicken Sandwich. Since I love Wendy's burgers, and every one seems to be coming out with a new chicken sandwich to compete with Popeye's I thought I would try Wendy's version. The chicken sandwich was good, nothing really special, just a breaded and fried chicken patty, but good taste, and I was satisfied. I would order it again if I didn't feel like eating a burger. I gave 3 stars because when I drove up to the speaker I waited about 5 minutes and no one came on the intercom to take my order. I kept saying hello several times, and I even made an attempt to call the store to ask them why no on was taking my order, but no one answered. The line behind me was building up, and the lady behind me was just patiently waiting, and smiling. I felt bad, and didn't want to keep the others behind me waiting so I decided to just drive up to the pick up window. I waited a few minutes before someone came to the window and asked me if I needed help, and I informed the person that I've been waiting at the intercom/speaker and no one came on to take my order. She apologized and said sometimes the cars are so quiet that they don't know that anyone is there. I'm not sure how drive thru ordering works at most places but I would think they would have a camera or some other sort of sensor to alert them that there is a vehicle at the intercom/speaker area waiting to order. I would have given 4 stars and knocked off one star because of this incident, but this is the second time that this happened to me, and the last time it happened the lady told me that my vehicle wasn't on the right spot so they didn't know that I was there. This won't stop me from eating at this Wendy's or any other Wendy's for that matter, but they need to fix their drive thru at the Waipio location. I'll end on a positive, the manager that helped me was very nice and apologized sincerely. I know it's not their fault, so whoever owns the franchise please fix your drive thru system. read more

Seeing this location boasting a 2.5 star average is breaking my heart! I have been frequenting this Wendy's since the doors opened and continue to do so even after starting this new diet I'm on because their salads are killer! In all my days of coming here I have never experienced anything short of great customer service and better food. If I want hot food by the time I drive to where I am going then I come here, this is my preferred location for food and I really want them to start doing breakfast. This Wendy's ranks way above the Wahiawa location as I have never recieved an incorrect or bad order from them. The space is clean and well maintained. . . I give this place a 5 star rating today because I received excellent service the moment I pulled up to place an order. The guy who took my order was polite and provided such excellent customer service. At the grab window (last window) he greeted me again and told me to have good night after he handed me my order. How did Waipio get so lucky? First a super hipster creamery and now a Wendy's?? I know, these are two totally different types of places but still exciting! The first weeks of opening was crazy for Wendy's - the parking lot was full, the drive thru was full, everything was full! I'm not sure if the design of the drive thru and lot is that great but perhaps there was not another way. Hopefully as the staff starts moving quicker (once things are first nature) the drive thru will move quicker and won't block the entry into the parking lot. Food takes a little longer than Wendy's neighbors (Jack in the Box and McDs) but it's worth it. I love their value menu and they also have a 4 for $5 (jr bacon cheeseburger or chicken sandwich, fries, 4 nuggets and a drink). I love their salads - they have the best selection of all the fast food places around. Their chili is also good (no rice, they give crackers) - be sure to add their spicy chili sauce! They also have that fancy drink machine that can dispense a whole bunch of different drinks and different flavors. For the drive thru - as mentioned by others - there's no menu beforehand. You only get to see the menu once at the order speaker. It would be nice to "study up" beforehand and I think this would help the line go quicker. For dine-in - there are only maybe 15-20 stalls. Went to Waipahu Wendys, two people ahead of us in line, 20 minutes later still no food. Stopped by for some frosties with my son. He got strawberry, I got chocolate. There were no spoons in the tray so I waited at the counter for several minutes for someone to give me one and was ignored by the staff. Finally the cashier, when he was done with the customer he was checking out, gave me one but didn't acknowledge that I'd been waiting all that time. When I finally started eating the frosty I discovered it was completely melted (my son's was okay, so it wasn't due to the wait). When I told the cashier he said it would be 15 minutes before the machine was fixed and that I could have "a cookie or something" if I wanted. No one goes to Wendy's for the cookies. And evidently no one should go to this Wendy's for the service. read more
