Four of us ate at this Wendy's on 3/20/16. The sign on the door said it opened at 10:00 a.m. that day; we entered at 11:00 a.m. and were the only ones there. No one was behind the counter, but I could hear voices. After waiting a few minutes and wondering whether they were in fact open, a young man came running in from the parking lot, threw off his jacket, ran behind the counter, and asked if he could help us. The four of us ordered (I still have the receipt), and he then said the manager had not set up the drawer so we would have to pay by credit card. I said that's impossible, that I was paying for everyone, and three of us didn't even have a credit card; I had cash. I then asked how they opened at 10:00, it was now past 11:00, and there was no cash set up. He said the manager hadn't gotten around to it. I asked to see the manager (to plead my case), and he said he doubted she would come out to speak with us. My sister then paid for all of us with her credit card, and I was embarrassed since she was one of my invited guests.
The young man took our order, we sat at the first table, and as we handed out the food, we realized we were missing several items. I went up to the counter, explained what we were missing (a baconator double, the 4 for 4 burger, and a drink). He questioned us like we were wrong; I pointed to the table (in clear view) to show we hadn't even unwrapped anything and handed him my receipt. He studied it and even then had to check it in the register as if I had somehow doctored it. He then gave us the missing items.
When two of us tasted the light lemonade, it was pure ice water--not a hint of lemon. I assumed he had hit the wrong button, so I went up and told him the two lemonades were just ice water, and he just said, "Sorry." We stood there looking at each other like idiots when it dawned on me he wasn't offering us another drink, so I asked once again to see the manager. He disappeared to the back and came back a minute later and said, "She doesn't want to talk to you." ARE YOU KIDDING?!?
We sat there and ate, hoping she (the manager) would come out and speak to us since we were still the only customers in the entire place, but she never did. I filled out the survey mentioned on the back of the receipt, said I wanted to be contacted by email, but so far Wendy's hasn't responded. None of the four of us will ever eat at this Wendy's again; there are too many other choices in the area. Now I know why we were the only customers there.
It is now 4/12/16, and despite my requests I have not heard from Wendy's either via the receipt survey I filled out or after posting this review on Yelp. Obviously, Wendy's is too big to care about legitimate complaints from us little people. Dave Thomas must be rolling over in his grave. read more
