I was so happy to when they started building the new Wendys on University and Ellsworth in east Mesa. I loved their biscuits and gravy. I waited a few weeks after they opened so they could get their team up and ready before I tried the new location. To my very much disappointment, the biscuits and gravy was way too salty and I had to toss it. Just recently, I returned after a few months and thought I would try Daves Big Burger. My son recommended it. Got home and the burger was pink on the inside. My light ice drink was packed full of ice. I guess Wendys is off my list now. read more

May 11th, 2025. Is there a way to give a zero star? Talia so badly screwed up the prior order -- then had the gall to tell the guy it would be another 40 minutes to make the baked potatoes. Did the manager come "fix" her mistake? Nope. Then the guy is standing there wondering "what is going on" and he has a bag of burgers that if they weren't cold -- were by the time I left. (before he did.) My order was partially screwed up. Took ten minutes to get it up when the place was empty and only two drive-thru's happened. I live two minutes away and the burgers were cold -- fries were cold -- and two of the burgers didn't have the items on them as ordered. Underwhelming. Disappointing is a good word to use. I work out at the gym behind and there is no need to stop here again at Wendy's. My best advice for someone thinking about stopping here at this location to grab a meal -- just go drive a few more miles to In-n-Out burger. I would have but figured I'd try Wendy's near myself again after a mediocre experience years ago. My bad. Don't make my mistake. Go drive the extra distance and get a hot hamburger with cheese, fries and a shake with a customer staff that actually wants to work or cares about what they serve. read more

Can't beat the value of the $5 biggie bag ! I prefer a Dave's single above most other fast food chains "flag ship burgers". Ordered asigo chicken sandwich no tomatoes and single burger combos. After sitting at drive thru window for 2 minutes was asked to pull around front since sandwiches weren't ready. Waited another 5 min and my food arrives along the food for the car next to me, which pulled around a couple min after I did. Since I waited so long you would expect the food to be piping hot, nope. Last nights $40 dinner order was terrible. We were given the worst, cold, dried out, over cooked stale fries (2 orders) and chicken nuggets (three six pieces and one 10 piece. I'm kind of a glut. I'll pretty much eat anything, but not these, they were gross. I couldn't even fake it. Even my kids who aren't picky eaters wouldn't eat any of it either. So my attempts to escape making dinner were for nothing. End it up pulling a bag of nuggets and fries from the freezer to cook in the air fryer for kiddos. Tossing half my order in the trash. Waste of money! Normally I'd go back, but we were gone for over 12 hours from the house running around and I was not about to drag all three of my kids back out to rectify. The three hamburgers I ordered were okay, although they didn't have extra toppings requested even though it was on order screen. Daytime burgers are WAY better in quality and presentation. In general, daytime is my normal visiting time and the food is always great, prepared as ordered, hot and fresh. If I go back it won't be in the evening or at night. read more

There were at least 6 teenage employees socializing at the front when I walked in, but none of them made eye contact with me or greeted me for at least two minutes. I almost walked out and in hindsight, I probably should have. They tried giving me a half full box of cold fries, so I asked for new ones to be made and they groaned about it. Then what I got was both overcooked and over salted (probably on purpose). This was at 7pm on a Saturday. Bathrooms are not clean and have signs on the doors saying "flush twice, drainage issue." I made a trip here today to have the T-Rex burger made (secret order item), eat in, about 11:45 am, Friday. The manager and staff were quite nice and efficient. The food was hot, and I like the new Coke machines which let you mix whatever flavor combo you like. read more

I ordered a jr. Hamburger, cheese fry, and a cherry mello yellow last night. Everything was fine until i took a bite of my burger, and found it was thoroughly pink and seared on the outside as if it was put on the grill for less than a minute. When employees at this location call out sick, the manager punishes them by taking away their hours for anywhere from a few days to a whole week. This leaves employees unable to pay their bills resulting in eventually being homeless. The management team here is adding to the economic issues families are experiencing and they know it, on top of it all they seem to be proud of it. read more

This spot has very nice people, decent workrs. However, their food is a different story. Breakfast time just ended (1030) and I arrived shortly after for lunch food - thinking that the food I would be served would HOPEFULLY fresh. This Wendy's and MANY others have this same problem. They seem to "warm" up the patties and are NEVER fresh once served. The burgers (double stacks) tasted horrible & LOOKED horrible to top it all off. It is very frustrating when a company posts about making food FRESH and practically MADE TO ORDER but comes out looking like it's an hour+ old and tastes HORRIBLE. Don't usually leave reviews on here but, when somewhere sucks as bad as this one.......ordered online to be able to just run in pick it up and go. Hit the we are here button just before pulling into parking lot. (Says it can take about 5 minutes for your food to be ready) Headed inside to find our drinks being put together but no food in sight. 4 others walked in behind us, ordered and got their food before us. The crew working seemed very lost and confused about what they should be doing. Meanwhile our frosty is melting.....waited almost 15 minutes to get our food. Assumed order would be right since it took so long, I was wrong!!! Fries were super cold and not even close to full, chicken sandwich was the wrong kind of sandwich!!!! This is regarding the Wendy's at Signal Butte and Southern in MesaAZ. Went to the drive thru yesterday and will admit I had difficulty with ordering. Admitted I did not understand my choices and the order taker was a bit short but I made it thru and was surprised and very disappointed when I got home. The chicken nuggets were under cooked on one side. The hamburger patties were dried out and had been sitting around awhile. The fries were all small pieces from the bottom of the holding tray . I assume that is how they tell people who might be difficult at the window, this is oayback to you. Unfortunately at the window I realized I was being waited on by Meme's. This is the closest Wendy's to my house, this is the second time the mess up my order. The first time I called to let them know they got my order wrong and according to whoever I spoke with I spoke with the manager and they told me to come back to get a meal on them and they asked for my name when I went to go order and I told him that the manager had told me to come in and give them my name they told me they had no idea what I was talking about well tonight I went and they gave me the wrong order again. The customer service here sucks as well and I will gladly start to drive to another Wendy's so this doesn't happen again. read more

The people that work at this location seem like they're all on drugs. I've gone to this location for years and I've progressively watched it go down the drain. The last time I went to this location they served my family molded bread. Every single one of our burgers was covered in mold. I went back to ask them to remake our food and the manager was rude. I then asked for a full refund and promised I'd leave them a 1 star review. I highly recommend driving the extra couple of miles to get better quality food and service. read more

This Wendy's is something else. I am almost a customer here every other day. Two workers in particular stand out. There is a large black man and a smaller man nicknamed, "preacher" or "pastor" or something like that. Both men are tremendously kind and work with a smile. I really feel like it's my duty to warn others that if you come to this Wendy's to please bring your patience. Please don't stop here for a quick bite or if you're in a rush. The people here work at their own pace. They are all very friendly, but this area is full of retirees and quite a few of them work here. They will chat with you all day about various things, but you have to be willing to give about 10 minutes more of your time whenever you place an order. OK so by now most people know I am a pretty patience guy but every time I eat here it seems as if time slows down.The words fast food can not and should not be used when describing this place. First off let me start by saying that this place while a chain seems to be the broken link. In the last three times I was forced to eat here (friends choice) I did not recive my complete order, was over charged, and received food that looked like it was left by a previous customer. Soggy fries, burgers coated in so much grease the bun would have slid off had it not been for all the cheese that held it to the wrapper! Of course this was after the long wait time (clocked at over 12 mins by my friend on one visit!) So why do people still eat here is my question? Maybe they are still stuck on the memories of cold and tasty frosty's. Or maybe it was the times they enjoyed a biggie drink with free refills on a blazing 110 summer day here in phoenix. Who knows? I think that since they were acquired by Arby's there was no place for them to go but down hill. Was never given back my change for a $20, when I had realized I called to have them check the cash drawer. They were totally dismissive and the person who answered the phone said it was her cash drawer and " don't worry about it". I gave them a $20 bill and saw that the receipt was rung for the exact amount of $7.44. Hmmmmmm clever way of stealing from customers. I was there during lunch, and the manager was yelling orders at all of her employees the whole time I was there. A young guy named Dom took my order. He seemed a little nervous like he was new, but he did a great job. Very courteous and respectful, even though he was being berated by his boss in front of me.
