I have come here several times. And every time, the drive through either takes 20-30 minutes or they just close the drive through and you're forced to walk in. Absolutely no customer service. Hardly anyone working. I've been in line before and just left after no car movement in 10 minutes. Tonight's guy starts my drive through experience with "you're gonna have to hold on". This location has stepped up their game. I visited twice in two weeks, and there was only one car was one car in front of me placing an order. My orders were placed (I think this is now automated) and were correct and ready when I arrived at the window. The staff members were pleasant and appeared relaxed. To start, the mobile app is a joke. If I order and pay for my order using the mobile app, why on earth would you WAIT to prepare my order. That's why I'm using the app, so my order can be ready by the time I get there. And if I don't come, there's no waste, cause I've already paid for it! It's my food, if it's cold because I ordered it to early, that's on me. So now to the wait, I am the first and only car in the drive-thru, when I tell them I have a mobile order, they immediately ask me to pull into the mobile order spots, in the 25min that I am waiting, there are only 2 other cars that order and are also told to pull into designated mobile parking spots. So about 20-25minutes later, mind you I was the first one in line, they bring out all 3 cars at the same time. So since I waited all that time for them to prepare my meal, my food should be piping hot. WRONG! Iced coffee was no longer iced, it was all watered down. Potatoes cold and soggy. So that means they waited until all 3 cars food was ready before they brought out my food. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED obviously went straight out the window, cause I'm sure it inconvenienced the worker to have to walk in and out 3 times. THEN, I look in my bag, and of course, they're missing an item. I get it, you don't feel like you have to work for your money, cause that would mean you're doing too much. Had just spent 6 hours at the ER at Novant Hospital and was discharged at 12:45 am and starving. Needless to say, all I wanted to do was catch a quick bite and go home and go to bed. Right across I-77 is a Wendy's which was perfect because the have a late night drive through that is open to either 2 or 3 am. Took less than 5 minutes to get there which was great and we were only 3rd in line which we initially thought was great. Don't know what the first car was ordering but it took 5 minutes to place the order before they pulled forward. Couldn't have been a complicated order because they were served in less than a minutes once they got to the pickup window. We were actually pulling out of the short line to drive up to the Wendy's in Cornelius when the first car pulled up so we stayed. My wife had gone home while I was at the ER to walk the dog and while there, she had grabbed a snack because at that time, it looked like I would be spending the night. Finally got to the order box and placed my order for a Double Dave's Cheeseburger Combo with medium unsweetened tea. They told me they were out of unsweetened tea but had something from the fountain that would work. Being tired, I agreed. Pulled up to the window to pay and was informed that they were out of the Fries that came with the Combo and it would be another 2 1/2 minutes if I wanted to wait. Originally I did not want the Combo because of the Fries and calories but my wife said she wanted them and if she did not eat them, she was sure the Corgi would ( he eats anything) Agreed and waited and she had a couple of very nice hot fries on our way home which was only about 8 minutes away. She had some more but the Corgi got about 1/2 an order and he is not complaining it the least. The Dave's Double was good and still nice and hot but the level of condiments added made for a very sloppy mess. A condiment is meant to compliment and not become the dominate taste. Granted this was at 1am in the morning and they appeared to have a greatly reduced staff but the staffing level was not adequate and should be addressed by management. read more

These guys did alright service wise. We weren't greeted with like open arms or anything, but after talking with the gentleman who checked me out, they were long shifts and it tends to be a lot of stress. They were kind and quick and allowed my little one to run around after being in the car for hours. I still love this Wendys but am frustrated with a few things. They only have one soda machine and for some reason people have a difficult time operating the coke free style machines so you have to wait forever to get your drink or a refill. Secondly, the dining room was really dirty. And finally, it is almost impossible to turn left onto statesville road because of traffic. That's not Wendys fault but just a bad location. They still have great service! I tried the chicken tenders today which I believe are new to the menu. They were tasty but I'm not sure if I like them more than the nuggets. Ordered DoorDash from this Wendy's location and ordered a Baconator Large Combo. I received the side and drink correct, but the burger was far from correct. First, it was not even a Baconator Sandwich instead just a regular hamburger. Second, the pretzel bun in which I paid extra for wasn't even on the burger. We went to Wendy's on Wednesday after a baseball game at 8pm with 7 cars in line. Sat there 20 minutes couldn't even get close to the speaker to order. Tried to give this location a second chance on Thursday at 7:30 pm, but two cars were close to the window and we sat at the speaker with no one ever responding to take our order, so we left and just cooked at home. I won't go into the Wendy's menu on this review because if you made it this far you obviously know their food and like it enough to consider reading this review! The clapped out 80's interior has been freshened up to compete with today's more contemporary fast food restaurants. Move over McCafe...Wendy's is comin' in hot! I enjoy the total experience of the facelift, but as a longtime patron of this location I have to give so much praise to the changes made to the restrooms. I would love to have before and after pictures for you, but I don't... ...and I will not bore you with a written comparison where I continue to rejoice changes to an area of the restaurant where, unfortunately, many people do not visit before their meal.
