Honestly, annoyed I'm even writing this. I usually don't have issues with this location, only when one specific person works the checkout. When I order specifically "bacon double stack with only bacon and cheese" I mean I want the bacon and the cheese on the burger. For some reason, when I say this, they say "yeah, so you mean plain?????" Then I get the burger and it's missing bacon. It's in the name. It's happened multiple times, all when the same person is doing checkout. In addition, she never gives out straws. Is this a big deal? No. Is it annoying as hell to deal with? Yes. Just another disgusting dump just like all other fast food outlets in and anywhere around/near Detroit. The people that " work " here are far too lazy, entitled, unintelligent and ignorant to EVER get your order right. The potato wedges tasted terrible and within a couple hours I was throwing up and had diarrhea. I went there again today and the boy working there was very rude. When the rare mood for fast food hits, I prefer Wendy's hamburgers, chili, and addictive sea salt French fries to most other chains. Their dollar menu pairings can make a satisfactory meal without too much damage to wallet or stomach. Ferndale lacks a Wendy's with consistent service, so I have stopped in on occasion to the Wendy's on 9 Mile just off the I-75 exit hoping that a higher traffic area might produce better food and speedier service. Sadly my hopes were dashed by a long wait in the drive-thru for a three item order on the four occasions I've been here. I waited in line between ordering and pickup, once long enough to hear most of Wait Wait Don't Tell Me on NPR. Fast food typically means quicker than I could slaughter the cow, carve the meat, grind it up, slap it in a pan and fry it up myself. For the record, my orders are rarely complex, at most 'no mayo on that sandwich' or 'diet Coke.' The friendly and well-meaning staff get the order and cash taken right, but they lose points on getting my food to me fresh, hot, and correct. Lukewarm chili and mushy, cold French fries are trials and tribulations no poor, hungry commuter wants to face. Chicken sandwiches are delivered with the mayo I asked not to be put on, and I always feel guilty about going back to ask for a correction. I dislike mayo as a matter of preference, but I'd be concerned for accuracy with food allergies. Another point: I check compulsively for straws, napkins, and spoons now because they are often left out. I have never eaten in the restaurant, so I can't speak to cleanliness. All the workers are rude. I live right by this place and it's one of the few places I can get a decent salad.. sometime. I almost always have issues. I had a cashier ask me if I had a different bill then a $20 to pay for an order that was $15 and some Change because she didn't feel like grabbing singles ( literally what she told me) then asked if I was cool with quarters. I've had them argue that I can't order no tomatoes. And they mess the orders up all the time. And there are so many time when the food is old. Today I orders a large son of a Baconator for my husband, and a full Southwest avocado salad for me. I reviewed a medium drink first. I pointed it out to her after struggling to get her attention. She said "yeah I know we are out of large" then shut the door. I struggled again to get her attention and asked if I can get another cup or something since I paid for a large. ( I will admit probably unnecessary but I felt she should have mentioned that or atleast been nicer) she shut the dirt without saying anything then gave me the drink and my food. I got home and realized I got two buffalo chicken salads. ( I'm on a diet and can't have breaded or fried food) so I had to take it back. I went inside and the girl asked someone in the back why they gave me that. The girl replied " cause we were out!" They actually weren't out they found me the salad. But again. When they say "iceberg lettuce", this place means it. I got a salad and it was frozen solid. The tomatoes were sad little jelly beans that looked like some day they would be slimey, so I chipped them out and gave them a decent burial. I tried to dig around to find something edible, but I was afraid of chipping my teeth on the baby glaciers. The fish sandwich I ordered was like one of those posters of evolution, where it's small and grizzled on one edge, and so barely cooked on the other it wanted to challenge me for dominance of the land. Truly the worst drive thru experience I've had in years. Only one car in front of us but kept being told to wait before we could place our order. Turns out the cashier was talking to the people in the car in front of us and didn't want to stop to take our order. Then I ordered a large chocolate frosty and a large root beer float with vanilla. Also a large fries. Pretty simple right. At the window he hands me a large root beer drink and a root beer and chocolate float (gross). I had to explain 3 times what I actually wanted and he didn't want to correct the order. Apparently he didn't understand what a vanilla root beer float was. I had to keep asking for it to be corrected. When he finally did he handed it to me with foam erupting out the top and spilling everywhere. I asked for more napkins but he closed the window. I had to keep honking the horn and waiving to get him to open the window and give me something to clean up the mess he caused in my truck. Great place. The 9 mile Wendy's has great service and delicious food. Their nuggets are the best nuggets I've ever had. They fill the frostys to the top and have a machine for drinks in a place where people can get it themselves. The food comes out pretty quick but I'm not really one of those assholes who cares if they have to wait. But overall, I love this Wendys. read more

I've been to this Wendy's twice. The first time, the patty on my Spicy Chicken Fillet was soggy and the fries limp. The second time, the patty was soggier, fries limper, and my Diet Coke was neither diet nor a Coke product. I do know the difference between Pepsi and Coke, so how regular Pepsi ended up in my cup at a restaurant advertising Coke products is beyond me.
