    Where's the bacon.....Bacon Double Stack
    Mark W.

By far the absolute WORST Wendy's I have ever been to. They never get order right and are not very friendly. This was a bacon double stack, plain burger had ketchup and NO nuggets. You want $15 a hour, at least get the orders right first

Onto Yelp and we find Brazzas. 4-1/2 stars on 55 reviews - let's look. The place is nice, but unassuming. We walked up to the counter and the friendly lady and gentleman (I'd guess husband and wife) cheerfully took our order - a whole chicken dinner. We were told it would be about 15 minutes for a chicken to be ready and we agreed to wait. How can you complain about getting fresh food? We got our chicken that came with a salad with avocado and rice and beans. The beans were not your typical Latin beans. These were white beans that were not swimming in sauce. The salad was nothing special, but was fresh. The chicken was excellent! Well cooked, juicy and tasty. The green sauce for the chicken was terrific too, not too spicy as some tend to be. I'm happy to add Brazzas to our Connecticut 95 food list!

Salmon was served hot off the grill with some charred skin , served with thin tomato based sauce. Mussels were very tender and fresh. Chicken was grilled and served cut into small pieces. French fried yucca was crispy . It also came with potatoes but we asked them to change it to plantain. Would retirn here the next time we're near New Haven.

We had a reservation for a large group for brunch on Sunday. Everything was fabulous- from the mimosas to our waitress and to the food! Waffles are made to order, the fried chicken wings were perfectly crispy and tender, the little sausages/kielbasa were nice and crispy and the desserts were to die for. Eggs are also made to order as you like. All for $29 which was a steal in my opinion. The ambiance is so fun- definitely the Halloween/vampire vibe. I left after 2.5 hours but my friends stayed longer. Will be returning with my family for sure!

It was between here and Home and I had been there before so we came here. It's the old Tiki bar across from the Mexican place. Same as tiki bar...small place. Not many tables and it was freezing inside so we moved out to the patio. Not much warmer....Whatsoever. There were doors open that didn't close properly and it was pouring outside. I said to myself it is what it is. Ordered the Insalada di Roma to start. Eh. Overpowering garlic taste. Got the lobster roll and man got the Thai Fighter Burger. My lobster was tasty as all lobster is. I can't do gluten and they don't offer gluten free buns so I just ate the lobster meat and fries. The butter on the lobster was very different. Thick. Corn buerre blanc sauce. I still don't know how I feel about it but to me lobster doesn't need a thick sauce on it. Also, it said MP on the menu upon arrival but online one menu said $34 and their actual website said $40. It was $52 tonight. Are you EFFING KIDDING ME?! Never in my life have I seen a lobster roll be $52. This place has no business charging that. We go out to eat all the time to very nice places and have never paid that. It wasn't even a large roll!!! Average. I went to use the bathroom and it had an Out of order sign on the door. I had to go so I used it anyway. Door didn't shut. Prayed no one would try to come in. My hair stinks hours later of fried food. Gross. For almost $200...would not come back.

"…read more Valentine's Day with my favorite guy (my son ) started at IKEA and somehow turned into a full-on gozadera at Prime BGR in New Haven -- completely on a whim. We walked in with no reservation on Valentine's Day (bold), and the manager couldn't have been more welcoming. Super friendly, got us seated quickly, and set the tone right away. That kind of hospitality matters. The vibe? Cool, modern, slightly moody -- perfect accidental Valentine's dinner energy. The service was on point all night. Attentive, smooth, and genuinely warm. Now let's talk about the moment that activated my Dominican DNA. I ordered the Sweet Plantains with Cilantro Aioli as an appetizer and when I saw plátanos on that menu? República Dominicana presente. . I felt seen. For my main, I had the Temple Salad and added a burger patty (because balance is important ). Fresh, flavorful, satisfying. My son ordered a burger with truffle fries and I am STILL thinking about those fries today. Crispy. Perfect salt. That truffle flavor hit just right. Those fries deserve their own review. And because it was Valentine's Day and I believe in celebrating myself too, I had the Pineapple Express. Divine. Tropical. Smooth. The kind of drink that keeps the gozadera going. From IKEA chaos to Prime BGR glow-up in under an hour. Great food. Great vibe. Great service. New Haven confirmed it. Our favorite wait staff members were not around, we did not recognize anyone and the menu changed. Something was definitely off. Long story short, the management changed and not for the better. I ordered my usual, signature salad and it was awful. Brown and wilted greens, tons of nothing and a horrible dressing. Next time, I ordered a burger. I very seldom order a burger but I know Eli's uses quality beef. Just a burger, no fries. I could not eat it. It was dry, overdone and unappetizing. I thought it was just me so I brought it home and my husband would not eat it! Today was the last straw. My companion ordered her usual wine and it was not at all acceptable. The young lady brought another glass and again is could not be consumed. Now, I've been friends with this person for 25 years+ and she has never sent a glass of wine back. Again, the lunches were awful. To the owners/management: why are you ruining a good thing? Are you not interested in keeping your clientele? Another obvious thing we noticed; Thursday lunch and no one in the bar! Empty! Vacant. Just the bartender. It's also obvious they've changed the wine list and quality of the food to save money. The only saving grace about lunch today was the lovely and helpful wait person. She was wonderful. It's all so sad. So Shameful.

This is something you would get as part of your dinner experience in another restaurant. Especially none of the meals come with a salad. My appetizer was the Stacks. Waitress said it came with seasonal vegetables to include squash etc, it didn't. It had kalamata olives and lots of capers. It made for a salty bite every time. I picked out all the capers. It was a very small portion of fish and risotto for $40. The farro salad, we added ahi tuna. Tuna had no flavor, no seasoning or crust. Very little farro or butternut, mostly lettuce. Cuban, heavy bread ratio. Otherwise was good. Three drinks were good: passionfruit mojito, guava coco margarita, were the average price for a drink out these days. The Oxford spritz was $25 dollars--that's insane... if we knew that price, would never have ordered. Apps: king pao dumplings, wish I took a picture -- they were beyond mini. Waste of money IMO. Yuca fries were a little undercooked to be creamy (we've had them other places better). Shrimp tacos were good. On a Friday night: only two tables outside were filled, 3 other tables inside besides ours from 630/830. When they first opened, you couldn't get in without a reservation as people were getting in to try it. My guess is people aren't returning. We wouldn't either unfortunately. Restaurant scene is competitive in Branford and for price and portion, it's just not gonna meet the mark--in my opinion
