I stopped through to get an apple pecan salad yesterday. I used the mobile ordering on my app. And the drive through to pick my salad up. Staff is friendly. Lot parking, typical fast food prices. Salads here are $8.19 as of this writing. I had gotten one of these salads recently at another Wendy's, so I already knew that I would like it. Unfortunately, healthy picks like salads are pricier than regular fast food. My previous salad had a nice mix of different lettuces. This one had 95% iceberg lettuce and maybe 4 small leaves of others. This is why the 4 star instead of 5 stars. As for the rest, really good. It has cranberry raisins(crasins), roasted pecans, apples, grilled chicken, and pomegranate vinaigrette. The seasoning on the chicken was a bit spicy(the last salad it wasn't). Otherwise, this was really good and I look forward to getting another one in the future. It would be fairly easy to assemble a salad like this at home woth precooked chicken. I don't cook or assemble, so I'll get them from Wendy's. I also got a frosty tag for my keychain. read more

So I got Wendy's last night and this is what they gave me. Raw chicken. Immediate food poisoning. The outside was done but not the inside you could tell it was lighter on the inside with the outside done. I tried calling the store and she heard me,but when I asked for the manager on duty she acted like she didn't hear me and hung up, so I call again ring the phone off the wall no answer. Tried calling from my work phone no answer. So now I have to leave a review. I work in food service so I understand mistakes happen, but instead of making up for it they want to ignore the customers who pay there bills. So now I'm forced to leave a bad review. Haven't been to Wendy's in years. Never been to this chain location. Not sure if they were under staffed. I'm not mad. What we observed. Drive through was going just fine. We walked into the building. There was people standing and sitting near the counter. There was one young lady packing food at that counter. What we came to figure out was that the drive thru had one person. Grill had a person. Fryer had a person. Maybe one other floater. The young lady at the front counter was on her own. No one helped her. She would take one physical order, but she was also she was stuck pulling the tickets for online orders, food delivery apps, etc. She was had writing sticky notes on some of the orders. We waited to give our order probably 15 -20 minutes. She just finally started to get help from someone else but they were not in any rush to help the people in the lobby. When we did put in our order it didn't take more than about another 10 minutes. The food was okay. It was fresh. But I'll maybe do the drive thru going forward. read more

The food is some of the better fast food options. We also are happy with the clean eating area. Delicious Chili and Frosties especially!

I don't normally write reviews on fast food, but it was refreshing to go through the Wendy's drive through today and get good hot food from a friendly staff. Spicy Chicken sandwich was great. I've been here so many times and it's the best global fast-food restaurant in Ankeny. Everytime I come here, the food is hot and delicious. The employees here do an awesome job. It's surprising that Wendy's does better than a McDonald's and even Burger King. read more

Over the last several years, I've largely sworn off fast food, with notable exceptions, such as In-N-Out (I live in California) and the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit at McDonald's. But with COVID-19 and the preference for outdoor dining or takeout, drive through has taken on new importance. And judging by the line of cars at this Wendy's and similar establishments, it wasn't just me or my even hungrier Brother who thought so. With fast food, you pretty much know exactly what you're getting and I've often considered Wendy's a "step above" within the burger food chain. Both Scott and I opted for a Dave's Single with fries and we were both pleased with our choices. I added lemonade which at least gives me the illusion that I made a better choice over a carbonated soft drink. The line moved quickly and efficiently, and the the workers were pleasant and masked. We then parked nearby, enjoyed our "hot and juicy" Lunch, and happily moved on North towards Ames. read more

I always thought Wendys restaurants were cleaner and have better tasting food than BK and Mcdonalds. One of the fastest, best, and most accurate fast food place in Ankeny. I love the Wendy's App makes getting a family of 6's order done fast and more accurate. We would eat there tons more if they had a few more vegetarian options. With BK right next door with the impossible whopper we head there more often. Dining room closed, which made the drive thru line even longer at 7:40pm. Saw a worker leave, even though there were 15 or so cars in line. Truck in front us waited for 5 minutes at the box to order. When we finally pulled up they told us to wait to order because they just got a large Door Dash order. Waited another 5 minutes, now a total over 20 in the line. Asked for them to take our order, they asked us to wait for a few more minutes while they got caught up. You had customers in line, but you closed your dining room & decided that door dash order were more important. So, we left. read more

I'm usually not a complainer, especially since I use to be a GM for a restaurant chain, however after waiting in the drive through line for 15+ minutes, sitting at the ordering screen for 10+ minutes before being helped, and then sitting at the second window waiting for our food for another 10 minutes. I am highly disappointed, I understand staffing issues however the crew looked like a lot of young high school girls who were having more fun picking on each other and talking than helping keep the drive thru moving. The inside had 3 tables taken and no one standing in line. The drive thru is the money maker and the only way money is made is if that line keeps moving, I saw at least 15 cars pull away in the time I sat there. We will not be coming back. read more

I don't know what more I can say about Wendy's. I love the Frosties. Generally like the spicy chicken sandwich. And have always had fairly decent burgers and chili. So I was on the way back from a weekend in KC and we stopped in at the Wendy's off of I35 in Ankeny, IA. Attempting to save a little after a rather expensive weekend, I ordered a couple of the Value Menu, Jr. Cheeseburgers, a small fry, and a frosty... Under $5!? Score! I bounded out the door, got into my car and drove away... Hit the interstate... Broke open the bag, unwrapped one of my cheeseburgers... Took a bite... And... HOLY SMOKES! It's not a burger, it's a Killer Sodium Bomb! Unsure if I just got an over salted bite, I tried again... BLECH! SALT SALT SALT... This is the WORST cheeseburger I have EVER eaten. I tried a third bite just to make sure. Nope, I was right... This is simply one of the saltiest things I have eaten in years. If I hadn't have been hurtling north on the interstate for five to ten minutes already, I would have gone back and thrown those disgusting wastes of a $1.98 back at the server... Wanted something cheap and fast while running errands across town. This place was hoppin' busy! Quick service and prepped food exactly as ordered. In general Wendys is a well run fast food chain but the biggest disappointment is that you can no longer order a hamburger from the menu. If you want a hamburger you must order a cheese burger without the cheese.... but they still charge you for the cheese! They will charge you extra if you ADD cheese to a sandwich but they refuse to lower the price if you get no cheese. The other disappointment is the high prices. $4.29 for a spicy chicken sandwich and $4.39 for a grilled chicken.,,,, which, btw, we had to return to the counter and get a fresh one because it was so stale and tough. The employees are usually quite courteous and have good manners. The place was clean and well maintained. One last bummer. The drink station. Love all the flavor choices but it only serves ONE person at a time. In order to get ice you have to stick your drink cup way back in to the machine opening - weird. First time at this Wendy's since they remodelled. It's very nicely done inside it almost looks like a hotel. The bathrooms are nice and clean. the interior of the restaurant does not match the food though. The burgers are good but when I am sitting here I expect something "fancier". Burgers are decent and the Bacon and Bleu burger on Brioche is pretty good. I don't think it's worth the price though. Took my son here and the bill for the two of us was almost $20. Next time i will take him to a sit down burger joint like Big City or Zombie Burger. If I had no choice though I would choose this spot over BK or the dreaded Golden Arches. read more

I love how they use fresh food in all their meals! You can just taste the freshness! They have those cool coke machines that you can add the different flavors too, which is awesome, but most of the flavorings were they were out of and the touchscreen was difficult to use. read more
