The multiple texts you've sent making it appear I had communicated with you OR your company previously is disingenuous and dishonest. - You don't identify yourself in text and don't use caller ID. - You use vague language like 'Are we doing this or what?' hoping someone (me) would fall for that. We've never contacted you, nor wish to. - This happened several times, hoping to harass your way into a response (BTW - anyone reading this should NOT respond to these, you'll likely get greenlisted for more spam.) - You texted from (714) 519-2230, which notably isn't listed anywhere on your website or easily accessible in other directories. Rey was the seller and lender of our home. Both sides of the experience were more than we were ever expecting. He fixed every little thing we requested him to fix on the home despite us signing a contract of "as is." He has also promised to continue fixing anything on the home as repairs come up and he has done that! He has continued to send his contractors to the home even after we closed. As a lender he went above and beyond, after numbers were presented we were not comfortable with the monthly payment (change in interest rates, etc.) we gave him a number we were comfortable with and he was able to get us to that monthly and even better! Additionally, he gave us multiple credits that saved us thousands of dollars and gifted us a gift at closing. Throughout the whole process he stayed in constant and instant communication and had us closed within 10 days! My husband, parents and I have worked with various lenders in the past but Rey has been the best! read more

Having worked with both banks and brokers for mortgage lending, we knew we were leaning toward a broker, we just needed to find one in a new market for us. We initially found Rey on Instagram and contacted him a few months before our targeted purchase window. He was receptive in spite of knowing we wouldn't be moving forward soon. At the close of our refinance in August, we planned with Alex to revisit the loan after we'd made the fourth payment. For the past month, we have called, sent text messages, but have not been able to reach Alex Reyes with mortgage loan questions. Apparently he is no longer with Sharp Loans and the owner, Rey Reyes, who is also a relative of Alex's, is nowhere near as competent and thus far unwilling to put us in contact with Alex to allow him to continue to provide us with his services. I chose Alex Reyes, not Sharp Loans, or Rey Reyes to handle my business. Alex was the person responsible for earning this 5 star review. Since Alex is no longer there, we have no way to work with him and have not yet been able to connect with a competent loan officer at Sharp Loans, I'll be taking the rating down to a 1 star. If Alex comes back, we would love to work with him. Until then use another company. read more

Garbage. Somehow they get wind that you are refinancing your mortgage, then call you sort of pretending to be the lender you're working with. Not explicitly, since they do say they are Sharp Loan. But if you aren't paying attention you could easily think it's legitimately related to the refinance you have going on and end up getting scammed. They implore you to "immediately" call to" review "important information" about "your application" and "to protect your privacy." Of course, I have no business with them. Here's a transcription of the voicemail I received: "Hi, my name is Matthew with the Mortgage Services Department at Sharp Loan. We have important information regarding an inquiry and the review of your mortgage application. Contact the Mome Mortgage Line of Credit and Pre-approvals Department immediately at 714-701-8458. And again, this is Matthew with Sharp Loan Mortgage Broker in Orange, Orange County, California. In an effort to protect your privacy contact our office at 714-701-8458 and please provide the number you received this message at an any of our trained professional representatives can assist you with your application. I've been doing business with sharp loans on and off for awhile now. When i was doing a refinance last year, i was getting a lot of mixed information from one of the the guys (not gonna say his name for his privacy). It ended up working out but because of my persistence and me working with one of the managers. Fast forward to the current thing I'm trying to accomplish. I get the same guy so i request someone else. Now i have this new woman and she seems very helpful at first but turns out the guy is still working with her too. I am over a month in my process and I still haven't gotten my simple numbers question answered. 1 month to answer 1 question about how much will my Heloc be and how much credit i need to pay. I call 2 times a week with most times no answer and when i get one of them on the line it's like they forgot what I asked. So it's like a merry go round that's not very merry. I would definitely look else where for your housing loans. They don't value your needs above their own. read more

Having the same experience as the other two reviewers. In fact the voicemail Austin has pasted to his review is the exact same message I have been left multiple times over the last 3/4 days. They ring several times a day and I had never even heard of them until this week. Didn't go to their webpage etc so not sure how they have my number. The way they talk on the voicemail is very misleading, as if I had already started the mortgage buying process with them and they now have more information for me. In 2019 a business manager replied to several posts from yelpers saying they were no longer doing a cold call telemarketing campaign using contact information from people without their consent. This company is a scam. They called me unsolicited and pretended they were my current lender. They were very secretive about who they were and kept pretending like they were discussing my current loan with another bank. Only after I poked and prodded did they admit who they were and that it was actually an unsolicited marketing call that has nothing to do with my current loan. I have no idea where they steal your information from, but the fact that they instantly get your cell phone number to try to defraud you after you get a loan from someone else is pretty scary. read more

Some background about me: I am not a first time borrower and I have re-financed on multiple occasions, so I'd say my experience level as a borrower is high. Regarding some of the 1 star reviews I read: Looks like many of the 1 star reviews weren't clients of SL to begin with. And while I appreciate the desire to not be constantly harassed, it should be known that when you go through the lending process, lenders/brokers/etc reach out to get your business. Instead of getting frustrated, my advice is to entertain the call and see if they can beat your current rate ... ...which is what happened with me. I had an offer in hand, and was 20 days into the process (45 - 60 day close) when SL reached out to me. They not only beat the offer I had in hand by 0.25%, but they also closed in 15 days (calendar, not business)! Sharp Loan provides excellent service at an excellent value. Hector Carillo (my loan officer) along with the leadership and underwriting team were knowledgeable, capable, reliable, and an overall pleasure to work with. Hector is a 'customer-first' professional who always makes you feel like a top priority client and addressed my concerns and answered my questions at all hours of the day. Additionally, after closing, the team found an error in my favor in the magnitude of several hundred dollars and 1) urgently closed the matter and 2) relentlessly worked to get the refund check in my hand. I've been getting calls non stop. Being contacted by Sharp Loan a few times over the past week. Each time the same person would call and ask for me but I would just disregard the caller. Eventually I called back after a voicemail left from Mathew mentioned "verifying my application". I spoke to another representative that convinced me to verify a couple things about my loan and property. I was very skeptical to say the least. The telemarketing person transferred me to a supervisor that gave me more information about the company and was very knowledgeable about the industry. Overall I had a pleasant experience and have decided to allow the company to handle my refinance.
