GREAT PLACE!!! I wish she was open when my Sister came out for a visit in August! Daina's located in those old houses that used to be Sassafrass (for you locals lol). It's a little cottage - and she leaves & locks the door behind her when you're dressing or undressing (for privacy & safety I guess?). SO - I had this HORRIBLE knot at the back of my shoulder blade. She took a few mins to chat with me before my appt -- and apparently she does this Chinese energy/acupressure type treatment before she massages the hurt area (WAY less painful). IT WORKED!!!! She even found this weird knot at the base of my skull and I could feel it "pop' while she did the pressure thing! Daina's also trained for Cranial Sacral (spell check!) - which is great for someone like me who had surgery at the base of my head & needs to break down scar tissue. I appreciate Daina's 'ANTI-BEATING YOU UP" method mixed with a normal massage too. **Pricing - she's not ridiculous like the other massage places in CR. Charges the normal $60/hr. P.S. You can hear the train roll by during appts - but because Daina doesn't bring attention to it and continues the treatment......it doesn't really affect your visit (for me anyway). :) read more

I am updating my review as you can see below. I have somehow personally offended her with my review as she has changed the message on here several times. My sister is the one who initially called being on speaker I was able to hear the whole conversation, my personal thought is my apologies if her child was sick and not feeling well. With that said there are times to pick up a business call and times not to. As I emphasize I have never gotten a massage done neither has my sister or any of my family members so I can not judge her on her massage technics. What this review is about is the initial interaction, yes we did call for our mother who lives out of state and we were not expecting to get a massage on Mother's Day but if it was available great, we were just trying to see if she had any last minute availability a couple days before hand. As someone who owns a business the customer service that was received just felt wrong over the phone. She did text my sister back letting her know that her other therapist in training could be available another day of the week so with that I will give her an extra star. To me as a customer she came off as she was busy, the call was inconvenient and she was "booked months out in advance" as she quoted. By all means if you're busy that's great but don't brush off new customers in a rude manner, I would've never left this negative review if I had felt she came off more friendlier or professional about it. Also my sister was unaware of my review and later told me that she had called her twice a week later about me leaving the review; which I feel is very inappropriate. People are entitled to their opinion after all it's yelp. You simply don't handle customer service like that there's other professional ways to do so. Best of luck on your journeys and sorry to come off so ill. Initial call, first interaction seemed as if it was inconvenient to be contacting her about making a new patient massage appointment. She didn't seem friendly and didn't address who I was calling I had to say hello twice. She told me about her being busy doing something at the moment ?? and she could set me up with her training massage girl she just hired if she was available. The whole Conversation just didn't rub well with me, she might be a great massage therapist but unfortunately I will never know. I believe first interactions are everything, maybe a better greeting and wording of the whole conversation would of not made me compelled to write such a negative review. read more

I just saw Daina for the first time and she was amazing!! I get massages frequently and she was one of the best I've been to. Her pressure was perfect for me and she seemed to go exactly to the right troublesome spots. The room was relaxing, music was perfect (not too loud like some) and she used essential oils which totally relaxed me. I'll definitely go back and would highly recommend her to others! read more

I have had many massages over my life span, and I can honestly say that Daina Carlson is the very best! She knew where my sore spots were, without me saying a word to her. She also used a technique (cranial sacral) that involved gently manipulating my head, which almost put me to sleep, I was so relaxed! I've never had that done before by any other masseuse and I swear by it. Daina also used the right amount of pressure throughout the massage, depending on the area, which also made it very relaxing.
