After a total knee replacement in May 2025, I continued to experience daily pain, especially at night. For 15 months, I accepted that pain as my new normal. Then I had a treatment with Dr. Mackenzie. For the first time in 15 months, I was completely pain-free. It felt nothing short of miraculous. More than a week later, the pain is still gone. I was suffering from pain, sometimes severe, due to a cyst pushing up against my sciatic nerve. Doctors gave me meds which could cut back the intensity. But, it never really went away. Just getting in and out of a car without a burst of pain was a slow, contortionist exercise. Or it was like that before my acupuncture treatments with Danny at Wellspring. I would leave those sessions feeling more flexible than I had in months. To me, it was magic. To Danny, it was a science. And that was another bonus of those treatments. I went to see Dr. Danny for chronic knee pain due to runner's knee. I've had this pain for years and have seen several acupuncturists and physical therapists. I've been seeing Kara Morton for several months now for acupuncture and cannot recommend her enough! His is a wonderful practitioner who is all ears and heart, and will try to find the best way to treat you. Initial consultation is free and the medical history portion was probably one of the most thorough ones I've had. He will suggest any number of modalities that would be appropriate for your needs, whether it's acupuncture alone, or in combination with herbs, qi gong, cupping, or counseling, and he will ask you every time if you agree to the options -- he'll never force anything on you. He also takes his time to answer all my questions, in person or via email. The energy is very open, non-judgmental and warm. Location-wise: It is easy to access from 101, and the building is an island surrounded by parking lots! Entrance is on the first floor in between Starbucks and a health food store, and there is a bathroom at the entry of the 2nd floor hallway for last minute stops. When you walk into the practice, it's a nice, quiet, calming change from the outside hustle and bustle. There is also a meditation room towards the back where you can chill before or after your treatment :) Personally: Currently on a quest to resolve my long-term allergy issues in a holistic manner, I've seen Danny several times since the summer to receive acupuncture and herbal treatment. Both have made a big difference in my respiratory labor. I know my issue is going to take some time to work itself out but I'm quite happy with the progress so far. I definitely notice a difference when I'm not taking my herbs (which is no fault of Danny's; my scheduling problem) and look forward to learning more about all the ways in which Traditional Chinese Medicine can help improve my QOL.
