And the effects weren't just for a day which is my usual experience with massages, they have lasted all week. Stimulating blood flow to the injured tissues seems to have really accelerated my healing. In addition, Joel addressed neck and back issues that have been bothering me for years. I have had countless sports massages to address those issues with limited long term success. My neck and back improvements have also lasted all week. I am, frankly, thrilled with the results on my hip, neck and back! I watched the video on his website and that made me feel comfortable with his process. I had never had a barefoot massage before and it is a unique, but powerful, way to go very deep into the tissues. I recommend watching the video on his website as well to get a better idea of the process and the benefits.

Having been insured twice in motor vehicle accidents, I have dealt with a lot of pain and as I age it has gotten worse. I have seen many different types of practitioners over the years with only moderate and temporary relief. Joel is the first person who I can say has made a real difference in my day-to-day life and my level of pain. His work is deep and powerful. I have referred two of my friends to Joel and they have had the same experience that I have had. I would give him 10 stars if that were possible. if you are experiencing pain and limitations, for whatever reason, I encourage you to see Joel and find out for yourself. www.JoelHillmanTherapy.com

James is awesome!…read more He helped me with 2 major health problems. The first was when I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel. After just a couple months of NMT, my problem went away and never came back - no surgery. The second time, I had a pulled muscle that was so painful - I had to go to the emergency room. The doctor did a MRI and just gave me some pain killers. After a couple days, pain had not gone away and got worse, so I called James. After just one session, the pain was gone! I should have called James first and saved thousands of dollars in medical bills. I now have regular sessions with James to help with stress, and various aches and pains. His sessions are way better than your average massage - they are like mini-vacations.

After about 5 months of physical therapy, there was still pain in the area and muscle atrophy. James was able to work his magic on the calf and ankle area, and paid special attention to my walking gait and overall alignment. I would say that thanks to James, I am walking / exercising much better today!

Now I'm feeling good and I owe it to him. I never thought chiropractic adjustments would work for how messed up my back is. I would recommend him to anyone who wants an adjustment without the fluff and foo foo, Thank you Mark, I am eternally grateful. After moving to Marin I needed someone I could trust with not only my body, but someone to refer my clients to. Dr. Kraus is by far my favorite! He is extremely knowledgeable and really LISTENS and cares for his clients. I've been to chiropractors that often do a routine adjustment that is always the same and they just go through the motions. Dr. K has never once given me that feeling. His techniques span a wide variety and I LOVE that he gives me not only relief along my joints, but deep into the fascia and muscles. I put my body through a lot and his adjustments give my body the reset they need to continue progressing in my professional life. I appreciate you Dr. Kraus!

I had been to 10 different practitioners (MDs, Chiro, massage therapist, PT, CST, ND, Lymph drainage etc) before finding Jocelyn. I was starting to give up hope that I would ever walk without pain or function normally ever again. After the first session I was in tears of happiness because my knee pain disappeared. Completely. And didn't come back!!! Still hasn't. My body is more aligned, my pain has greatly improved, and I have my life back. I also have been having TMD issues since pregnancy and Jocelyn's magic in ONE session of working on that has improved my sleep OVERNIGHT and completely gotten rid of headaches and tightness in my jaw. I owe Jocelyn my health and my life and I cannot put into words how thankful I am to the universe for bringing me to her!!! Try it. It's not a regular "massage" but it's WAY MORE EFFECTIVE than one for real body work and therapeutic benefit. I work in the therapy filed, so I know. This is the real deal.

I highly recommend Yves Lavenne as an Orthopedic Massage Therapist. I ruptured my Achilles tendon…read moreabout 4 months ago and was looking for someone to help me work through the scar tissue that had built up around my Achilles and calf. My dental hygienist recommended Yves who had helped her with a shoulder injury. I truly couldn't be more impressed. He is incredibly knowledgeable and explains what he is doing and why. He does fascial tissue release and works on the adhesions around scar tissue build up as well as deep therapeutic massage. Within a day of seeing him I was limping much less, experiencing much less pain, and had about half of the scar tissue around my ankle. After 2 more sessions I am feeling better and stronger and my ankle has so much less swelling, fluid and scar tissue and I feel as though my muscles are working much more fluidly and productively. He is very in-tune with the body and how it functions and has a wonderful sense of what the body needs to heal and feel better. He is located at 158 E. Blithedale Ave. Mill Valley and his number is 415-381-3457. Cheers, Tara

She is incredibly skilled and responsive to what my body needs, specifically--whether it is a shoulder tweak, upper back stress, etc. She used a variety of techniques on an area until it responds/releases. I've had many massages across time, places, and people - and Nicole is clearly the most skilled, gifted and effective. So grateful I found her! Definitely seek her out. Although other professionals at Sports Massage also look wonderful from reviews I've seen, avoid Stefan. I booked a 30 minute "fix" with him, when Nicole wasn't available. He was 15 minutes late, worked for over 60 minutes haphazardly (and sometimes painfully) on areas that were not troubling me, and billed for 60 minutes (not the 30 I'd booked). The Sports Massage folks reached out to apologize and kindly provided a refund (that I did not request). Overall, this is a terrific place with mostly awesome people. Just pay attention to your booking.

This place is an absolute dream for those seeking skilled masseuses…read more I had a very warm and friendly greeting! Then, my masseuse Lein took the time to sit down and go over my needs, and discuss possibilities of why things may be feeling the way they do. She had very confident hands as if she knew my body better than I did. Although I would say for some people if they do not like deep tissue the pressure was strong but for myself I personally love that and got exactly what I asked for! She perfectly focused on exactly what we discussed getting rid of any knots in my body and worked parts of my body that I didn't know how much actually affected other parts that were needing help. Definitely some muscles that I've never experienced before that really allowed my flexibility the next day like deep in my arm pits. I certainly felt the effects both immediately after as well as the following day or two and still from being very decompressed. She was able to target and find points in my chest that ran up to my neck and shoulders that I still feel incredible from days later. I will absolutely rebook with her. I know that you asked for ratings based from 1 to 5 but I would say for Lein seems like she could be the masseuse for a professional sports team or something of that nature because she knows how to create solutions not only for problems you're having but also to avoid injuries by helping my flexibility. She mentioned that she started out in her career as a healer and that is very evident. I get massages regularly and am confident that this was the most helpful massage I've had without even knowing it at the time. Can't wait for my next visit!
