This studio has been so impactful for me. After my son was born 4 years ago I'd really let my body…read moreand practice go, and this is exactly what I needed. I've lost nearly 40 lbs, and am back to my pre-child weight. More than that, though, my energy level is back to normal and all the weird aches and joint pains I'd been having are history. :) Your classes and teachers are top-notch. And I say this from experience (and not to toot my horn, but to give you guys credit): I have nearly 20 years of yoga experience and a 200 hr YTT cert of my own, so I'm really clear about my likes and dislikes in a yoga studio. First, I love that you have a 12pm heated vinyasa class daily. That one-hour blast at lunch time is the perfect reset for the rest of my day, and the fact that it's offered every day allows so much freedom to build a schedule that works for me. Other heated studios tend to emphasize Bikram only (not my favorite flavor of yoga), and even the ones that do have heated vinyasa are usually only offered sporadically, and at odd times throughout the week. Your teachers also deserve tremendous praise. Heather delivers that slow, mindful burn. Her depth of practice and study of yoga is palpable, and provides a lovely & self-connecting experience. Ed is really fun and light. His pacing and flows are balanced, classes varied and enjoyable. And Liv's joyful energy brings encouragement and sweetness, even as she invites you into challenge. She's also got a gift for matching music to class pacing, which offers welcome variation from playlists which are almost all house beats (not that I dislike house! I just love Liv's capacity for taking a class through its own "vinyasa" of sorts: starting slow, moving into intensity, then finishing serenely). Thank you so much for having such a great space and crew. I am sadly going to be moving out of the area in the next week or so, but will definitely continue my membership on zoom and crank the space heater when I practice, as no one else can touch what you guys do!!

Here's the thing -- yoga used to be a competitive athletic pursuit for me. Losing that version of…read moremyself has been one of the harder, quieter griefs of pregnancy, something I didn't expect to carry. The owner understood that immediately. She didn't just encourage me to keep showing up -- she met me exactly where I was, without making me feel like I needed to be okay with where I was. That's a rare gift. What sets this class apart is how genuinely individualized the instruction is. Every woman in that room had her own set of challenges, and every single one of us was seen and addressed specifically -- given real feedback, targeted exercises, actual solutions. Not generic modifications. Not a one-size-fits-all approach. Real care. The community is something special too. Being surrounded by other pregnant women who get it -- some who've been through it before, who related to my birth story, who showed up week after week -- that sense of being held in a room full of people who understand is worth more than I can put into words. This is 100% worth every penny. If you're pregnant and wondering whether to go -- go. Your body and your heart will thank you. I almost talked myself out of joining -- I already have a big gym membership and honestly wondered how much I could realistically do right now. I'm 6 months pregnant with a 10-month-old at home, and my body has been a whole situation: vein/nerve pain in my knee, hip pain, rib pain, shoulder and deltoid tension from breastfeeding. I was exhausted before I walked in the door. But Ashley's prenatal yoga class changed something for me, and I feel so much better!!!! I an learning a LOT. They have 4 locations and tons of workshops too. I took a class the other day where we literally just laid there and meditated and relaxed with our legs up and I had no idea how much I needed that.

Elizabeth's evening Gentle Yoga class was also a regular part of my pregnancy and something I thoroughly enjoyed each week. Unfortunately, it closed so I had to look elsewhere. Pro's: it's fairly close by, the heating and humidifying system is great, and the staff are very nice and seem to have their act together. It seems pretty clean, (but the locker room is meh). I like being able to purchase a 10-class pass that is good for a whole year. Con's: some of the classes are insanely jam packed. As in, other people's mats are a few inches from you in all directions. I understand they are trying to max out the capacity, but I will now only go to classes in the early morning because the other classes are so crowded. The other problem is parking. Many of the spaces are reserved for the other businesses in the strip mall and I'm afraid of getting towed. Moral of the story: show up EARLY for class in the afternoons, evenings and weekends to get a spot for your car and your mat! I will probably continue to practice here but I would not buy a monthly membership given the con's mentioned above.

NOW Power Yoga is a heated yoga studio with great energy!…read more As I am getting older, I realize I do need to focus on rehabilitating and making sure my body has the tools to maintain strength. Yoga always felt a little too slow for me without being challenging. That is definitely not the case with classes at NOW Power Yoga! The studio itself is a pretty big room that get heated for each class. I especially enjoy that each class is often powered by modern music with a heavy beat. The instructors are super positive and help set the mood. Depending on the class, there are some that will focus on weights versus holding moves. While I highly recommend, I would say for beginners to yoga who are not too familar with the moves may have a hard time following along. Recommend bringing a yoga mat, towel, and water bottle to class because you are guaranteed to sweat! You can also bring a refillable bottle as well since they have water stations. I also appreciate that they have a shower. Because it shares a parking lot with other businesses, I would caution that depending on the time of day parking can get difficult so may want to come early at peak times to ensure you get a spot in time. The same for the class itself! NOW Power Yoga is a worthy visit especially if you are looking for a heated yoga class!

All of us. ~ The Guide: Bridget Lavin * Love Flows Vinyasa If she led us somewhere that didn't feel good, Bridget said, listen to ourselves. Our breath. Our practice. Time for us. Seated cross-legged, we swept our arms overhead and back down. Snow angels. Without the snow. Then standing. Hands at heart. Sankalpa. What did we need? For me, Be here. Right now. Nothing new. Teacher Lauren Cohen is awesome - grounded, well balanced sequences, supportive and kind. There's lots of parking which makes in and out easy and stress free. The not-so-good: limited number of classes offered and teachers can be hit or miss. Estee Fletter was amazing and has sadly left the studio. A few vanilla flavored teachers (especially late afternoon) seem to just be going through the motions and seem only willing to engage with younger students (or male students...) Not as many offering as some of the other studios in Marin: one huge room that sometimes barely has 10-12 students and an outdoor deck that would be lovely for classes but sadly is seldom used. The whole space worked so well when it was YogaWorks and the space has so much potential if they'd only cut the large studio into two and offer moonlight or morning classes in the Sun deck. Instead, there's the one big studio that's mostly empty and only affords them to offer one or two classes in the morning and the afternoon. If there were more rooms and more offerings, I'd probably get an unlimited membership; but as it is now, it's just not worth it. In conclusion, it's great for a one off class now and then but doesn't (for me at least) offer a long term home for yoga.
