I've been looking for a massage therapist for 20+ years that I feel super comfortable with and finally found the right fit! Dana is amazing. Because of her background with both yoga and massage, I feel she has a wonderful sense of how the body works physically as well as energetically. I'm able to communicate to her what I need and she listens and responds via what is offered in the massage. She is caring, present, and grounded which is so helpful. I feel my health has improved in many ways since seeing her regularly. I recommend giving her a try if you are ready to go deeper into your wellbeing with someone who is caring, compassionate, and skilled. read more

Dana is a healer. I have longstanding issues with pain from disc herniation in my lower back. I've tried physical therapy several times but never stuck with it. I've also tried yoga a handful of times in a class setting, but again couldn't commit. Enter Dana. Working with her for the past month has been revelatory. Her gentle, expert yoga guidance has helped me begin to feel the embodiment that I'm confident leads to long-term healing. The benefits of 1:1 instruction are huge. Dana provides detailed feedback on the poses and has an wide base of knowledge that focuses on yoga, but also brings in elements of Pilates, PT, etc. I see Dana weekly for yoga instruction followed by massage. That combo is perfect. We work hard on the mat which makes the massage that much more healing and enjoyable. Both practices feel like they're contributing to my healing and a growing sense of groundedness and calm. Please go see Dana if you're struggling with pain, or are intimidated by big yoga classes. I feel so grateful to be learning this practice from her. She sees clients for massage and/or yoga, but I recommend you do them together if you can swing it. Thank you Dana! read more

Dana is a wonderful practitioner who has helped me to restore. wonderful, safe setting.

I just had a private yoga therapy session with Dana Greenbaum of Prasadana and recommend her VERY highly. My session with Dana was the best yoga experience I have ever had. I have many areas in my body where there is tightness, old injuries and pain. She helped me find a place of comfort in every pose we did. I left in better alignment and felt stronger and inspired to get back into a yoga practice that I had tossed aside because of pain. Dana is grounded, intuitive, peaceful and full of heart. She guides you through your session with ease and non-judgment and she has an inspiring level of knowledge about the body and yoga. read more

Dana is an exceptional personal yoga instructor. I've had regular one on one sessions in her studio for several years, which I've come to rely on to keep my body healthy and my stress level in check. I feel more flexible and have better posture now than I did years ago (even after having two kids). I first contacted Dana for a massage and found her to be a very talented massage therapist. I told her about an injury that had kept me from attending regular yoga classes, and she suggested that I try out a personalized yoga session that would avoid the injury. I was immediately blown away by how helpful her sessions were. She taught me about proper body alignment, helped me with subtle but important adjustments in poses that I thought I had learned long ago, and generally has made a huge difference in my yoga practice and overall fitness. While private yoga lessons seemed like an extravagance when I started, I now view them as an essential way to for me to stay healthy. Dana is great at targeting the hour long session towards what seems most important to work on that day, which makes the practice feel worth several group yoga sessions. My injury is long healed, and I could theoretically return to group classes, but Dana's sessions are just so much more effective. Best of all, Dana's calm and cheerful personality means that it's always a pleasure to come to the sessions. I can't recommend her highly enough! read more

Dana gave me an expert massage. I told her of my troubled spots, where I hold my tension, and my overall state of physical and mental health. I asked her to "fix" me, and she did! After the massage I was grounded, in my body and more connected to myself than before. She has a 6th sense that goes beyond just bodywork, which is what made all the difference. I can find a decent massage in town, but what she brings is far beyond that, and I'm glad. I definitely recommend her! BTW, it's pronounced Dana with a short 'a', as in the girl version of Dan. read more

I found Dana when looking for prenatal massage within walking distance of my house. I wasn't expecting to find one of the best massage therapists I've ever had! I usually go for sports massage and was worried it'd be too gentle, but that girl is strong! And she seems to be able to read my body and what it's needing at any given time, without me having to spell it out, or even know myself what I'm needing. My needs have been pre and post-natal so far, but I've been trying to get my husband to go to her to get his surfing kinks worked out. BTW, her Yelp page doesn't show the reviews from her previous business name... they're here: http://www.yelp.com/biz/prasadana-yoga-and-massage-san-francisco-2 read more

I joined Dana's pre-natal yoga class at Yoga Tree Valencia when I was newly pregnant, but too tired and nervous to keep up my regular anusara practice. Her class has helped me with general well-being, gotten me sleeping better and generally holding myself comfortably as my belly grows. For a special treat I wish I could indulge more often, I've gone to Dana for a couple of pre-natal massages. Awesome. She's strong and soothing and able to handle whatever's bugging me- whether it's related to my pregnancy or not. I'm looking forward to continuing post-natal, too- I know she'll be able to help with the restoration process in a calming, comfortable way, too! read more

I cannot say enough about Dana, but I think she is pretty much the main reason I had such a great pregnancy. I went to Dana for a personal yoga session once a week from about my 18th week until the week I went into labor. I would joke and tell people it was such a bargain, because I felt like I was getting a counseling session and yoga session in one. Dana has such a calm presence that even when I was so haggard from working and tired from being pregnant, I would feel recharged after our 1+ hour session. I would highly recommend Dana for personal prenatal yoga sessions, or if you're just in need of personal sessions in general. She is a master! After Zennor was born I took him to her for cranialsacral therapy. I'm not sure if I was just very lucky with him, or if it really had an impact, but he has been an exceedingly healthy and well-adjusted little guy, who is super inquisitive and very advanced in his motor skills. I say, why not try it? Unfortunately, I cannot recommend her for massage, because I have never had one from her (but, I need to remedy that - I could really use one!). read more

Dana was a total god send during and after my pregnancy. Her gifted healing touch of massage helped my changing body find comfort and ease. More than once, as she helped me physically, my eyes would well up with healing tears of release. Before I was pregnant, I benefited tremendously from Dana's deep but gentle touch. Ever time I have seen her, I walk away feeling better both physically and emotionally. Expect one of the best massages you have ever received. read more

I have been seeing Dana for private yoga practice and massage for over two years. Dana has transformed my practice - helping me unlock the mysteries of simple poses I would sometimes overlook and focusing on exploring a pose rather than just maximizing its intensity. Dana meets my body exactly where it is and designs a practice to celebrate it. Linking massage to yoga has been an excellent way to work with someone who understands my body completely. I have and will continue to recommend Dana to anyone looking to deepen their practice in a way that is supportive, exploratory and expert. read more

I practice yoga with Dana - started just as I became pregnant and continued all the way to the 38th week! She comes to my house for private sessions most of the time, but I have been to her home studio a few times as well. It is private and quiet, and there is a bathroom you can use to change or do whatever you need! Dana is such an encouraging teacher, and her experience as a massage therapist really adds to the yoga practice. She was nice enough to massage my ankles when they were swollen from being preggers! It was really worth it to have a private practice instead of going to a yoga class. I need the personal attention and encouragement 'cause even though yoga is good for body and mind, it's hard to do sometimes!! read more

I attended Dana's prenatal yoga classes through most of my pregnancy and then massages for the last couple of months. Between the yoga and the massages Dana made my pregnancy very comfortable and I went into labor strong and calm. In yoga class Dana has the ability to walk a beginner such as myself through all of the poses, but also make it challenging for those that are more experienced. Each pose had several options so each person could choose how hard they wanted to work or how far they wanted to push themselves that day. The massages were just wonderful. At 8 and half months pregnant I can't tell you how good it felt to have my back worked on, my arms relaxed, my legs soothed, my whole body cared for. I would leave her studio glowing from head to toe. I am looking forward to my first post-partum massage (just need to work it into my baby's schedule!). read more

Dana was my prenatal yoga instructor. After coming from a busy day at work.,she made this wonderful space for me to reflect that I was carrying a child and to help strenghthen my body for labor. It's amazing how you go through the day so busy not really being able to tune into your body let alone the baby. So that what was wonderful. I was able to relax in her class and not stress about positions or being unconfortable as she is a thoughtful and patient teacher. She is very clear and creates a great rhythm in her practice. I began experiencing some upper back pain over the months of my pregnancy and decided to get a massage. I was lucky because my sister wanted to treat me to a pre and post partum massage. I found out Dana gave prenatal massage as well. I felt safe getting a massage from her since she understood a pregnant woman's body quite well. It was fantastic. I had two massages prior to labor. Then a few weeks after I gave birth she gave me my post partum massage. It was wonderful as I was using my back, rib and arm muscles in whole new ways as a new mom and I was sore all over! She's very gentle and nurturing yet strong. The studio is very quiet and calming as well. read more

I wrote the review below about two years ago but it has vanished for some reason. My weekly sessions with Dana are so important that I plan my vacations and travel around her schedule. If I could give her more stars I would. Namaste! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- * * * * * 1/31/2012 I have been taking private Yoga lessons from Dana for over a year now and it has become one of the most important things in my life. I started with her as an absolute beginner, and as a teacher she has the patience of a Buddha statue and an amazing knowledge of Yoga, body mechanics, and anatomy. I especially like that she checks in with me about what is going on and then customizes our sessions for the maximum benefit and learning. In addition she is a great massage therapist, and having an hour of massage from her after an hour of Yoga is magical. read more

Dana is a brilliant message therapist and yoga teacher. I have been her client for the past 5 year- she has helped me through pulled muscles, a broken heart, exhaustion, stress- LIFE! Her knowledge about the body is extensive- anatomy, kinesiology, as well as the more subtle realms of body/mind connections. She is intelligent, practical, direct, kind, insightful, sensitive- a true body fixer upper. As a long time yoga student I have found Dana's classes to be some of the very best in this yoga saturated city. She teaches with a perfect balance of specific direction... (where does that foot go? why should it go there?) philosophical (why have people been doing this stuff for thousands of years?) spiritual (why should we pay attention to sensation? what does the body have to teach our brain?) and she is fun! I walk out of every class physically, spiritually and intellectually satisfied. I cannot say enough about Dana- come see for yourself. read more

I highly recommend Dana! She has the magic touch and is a caring and intuitive healer.

My wife and I have enjoyed many 'home delivered' sessions with Dana, so much so we've given sessions to friends as birthday and wedding gifts. read more

I've been seeing Dana for a few years regularly, and she is the best massage therapist (body worker) I have seen. In my past experiences, I've had other regular body workers in Boston where I lived for 8 years and in San Francisco during the past 5 years, who were very good. But Dana is amazing and I would enthusiastically recommend her to anyone looking for either regular maintenance or to work out chronic issues, or both. Based on our brief chat before each session, she's able to quickly pinpoint my problem areas for that week and resolve them effectively. I agree with other reviewers who mention she is able to ready my body very well. This has been true since the first sessions. In her massage practice, she's very professional and an expert in her field. And her personality is warm, funny and engaging. It's always a pleasure to see her, and I truly look forward to each visit. Most highly recommended!! read more

I highly recommend Dana for her personalized yoga sessions. A friend invited me to a one day retreat run by Dana and I immediately appreciated her calm, warm and alignment focused approach. I started seeing Dana for individual sessions about 5 months ago and look forward to each meeting. Not long after I started I got a running injury which limited my practice so Dana carefully tailored our sessions to address the injury and I'm sure it contributed to my recovery. She's so knowledgable and skilled in modifying poses to your individual needs. It's such a different experience to a group class and Dana is a wonderful instructor. read more

Dana is is a very insightful practitioner. I've had a number of massages with her and also have attended some of her yoga classes in the past. Her massage practice really is therapy; she has an incredible ability to find the areas in a body that need attention and work them in a way that is serious without being overwhelmingly intense. As a yoga instructor and as a massage therapist she is calm yet puts out a lot of strong energy that encourages clients/students to be active participants in the practice. When she taught yoga classes, she's the only yoga instructor that has ever motivated my husband to get to a regular yoga class. He is an athlete and felt that Dana's yoga instruction benefited his running. As a side note, Dana's ability to tune into a client's body can help her spot other ailments as well. A few years ago, she noticed a lump in my neck and encouraged me to have it checked out. I have a history of thyroid problems and indeed I had developed a pretty large nodule that needed to be addressed as it was potentially pre-cancerous! read more

As a person who has many sports injuries and does not handle stress well, Dana is the BEST massage therapist I have ever had. She understands the body and each of its functions and will work with you to identify the problem area and work with you to repair it. She is the best in SF. read more

I have been going to Dana for private yoga lessons for almost a year now. I am very inflexible and have a hard time keeping up in "normal" yoga classes. After seeing her three or four times, I was able to touch my toes for the first time in more than ten years. She does an excellent job of tailoring each session for my needs that day. This has been particularly important for me during my recent pregnancy. Dana really helped reduce the amount of back pain that I had. My sessions with her helped me to reconnect with my body as it changed. Dana also does massage, and her prenatal massages have been the best that I have found in the city (or anywhere, for that matter). I highly recommend her for both yoga and massage. read more

When I was pregnant with twins, Dana was a lifesaver. Her prenatal massages were both relaxing and therapeutic. I would come in sore and lopsided and cramped and unable to walk and she was amazing at soothing and repairing all the parts that were out of sorts from carrying the babies. I was able to work my desk job until my 38th week and was pretty mobile until I gave birth in my 41st week. I credit Dana with keeping me healthy, flexible, relaxed and mobile during my pregnancy. I still get massages from Dana, though not as often as I want to (I have twins!) , and she is the very best. She is strong and attentive. I come out of the session completely blissed out and feeling great, and things that felt off, like my chronic neck crimp, are much improved by the next morning. She's awesome. I highly recommend Dana. I came in with some upper back pain from years of carrying a heavy backpack and poor posture. I have now had three massages with Dana and my back is ACTUALLY feeling better. I had forgotten what relaxed shoulders felt like until I had my first massage at Soul Sanctuary. Thanks Dana, you have healing powers! read more

I met Dana about a year ago in the "womb room" at Yoga Tree Valencia when I was a few months pregnant. Her wonderful twice-weekly prenatal yoga classes became my anchor, and I attended regularly up through 40 weeks. When I was a few days overdue, Dana gave me my first prenatal massage, and I left her gorgeous little studio and blissfully strong hands ready to birth my baby (and wishing I'd been getting prenatal massage all along). Even though I'm no longer a prenatal client, Dana has remained a part of my life. I treated myself to several of her heavenly postpartum massages, and I attend her All Levels Anusara class at Yoga Kula at least once a week. Dana is an insightful, wise, and extremely skilled teacher and therapist. I've been practicing ashtanga and vinyasa flow classes for many years (and still do), but Dana's instruction is taking my practice to a new level: my alignment and awareness have improved, and I find myself moving through my life off the mat with a renewed sense of calm and strength. read more

Kate and I are so glad to have found Dana, she is such a wonderful person and great Yoga teacher. Dana is a gifted and skilled massage therapist and yoga teacher. I was recovering from joint surgery and Dana's massages were a godsend in my recovery, even coming to my home when I was not able to get out. Dana's training in massage and Anusara Yoga gives her a superb understanding of the body and it's proper alignment. This is readily apparent when she is doing her body work. She is kind, listens carefully, not only to what you are saying, but what your body is telling her. I highly recommend Dana both for massage and yoga. Not to be missed! read more

I have been receiving massages from Dana for the last 18 months and I would whole heartedly recommend her. I have had massages from many other massage practitioners but none came close to being as relaxing and beneficial as Dana's. Dana's natural ability to locate areas of tension in my body and help me release them are unsurpassed. She has successfully worked with me on relieving tension in my neck and shoulders. As a newcomer to yoga I have also taken private yoga lessons with Dana. The lessons were great. Dana is very patient and she helped me overcome my own limitations in order to correctly hold the poses and find comfort in them. I recommend Dana for massages and yoga classes. read more

If I could, I'd give Dana 10 stars. I was referred to Dana by Dr Jason Rabineau (see review) when I mentioned to him that I was interested in 1:1 yoga. And I'm so grateful. I've practiced yoga off and on for years and have always enjoyed the poses, breathing, and mindfulness that it has brought. I'd never had the chance to practice 1:1 and as I've gotten older, I've needed more guidance to figure out ways to move my body without injuring it. My tendency is to over do it and I end up with some type of strain/pain. When I started seeing Dana I told her I was interested in getting more in tune with my body, learning how to do yoga without injuring myself, and starting a home practice. What I've experienced in my 1:1 sessions with Dana is nothing less than amazing. She is very gifted in knowing our bodies, helping to bring awareness to parts of our bodies that we often don't pay as much attention to (back body) and giving just the right instruction to get into and be in poses the way that is best for your individual body. Each session is unique and individualized depending on what's going on with you physically and emotionally. In just the short time that I've been working with Dana, I've noticed my body become more supple and pliable. Dana is helping me to really get to know my body through doing the poses. I'm more aware of my bodies tendencies than I ever have been. She's also given me a routine I can practice at home - one that I feel confident in doing on my own that I know I won't hurt myself doing. I can't recommend Dana enough. It feels like true self care practicing with her read more

I took Dana's prenatal yoga classes at Yoga Tree and quickly became a client of hers for prenatal massage and then regular massages after my pregnancy. Now my husband sees her too. She is without a doubt our preferred massage therapist and we're loyal clients -- and I've worked with many massage therapists before. She has good knowledge about the body and incorporates several techniques into each session depending on what's going on with your body. For example she's used some craniosacral therapy with me, deep tissue massage, breathing and movement. She has gentle, loving aura and a petite frame but don't let that fool you -- she is strong and can work out any physical tension with her healing touch. read more

Dana is a phenomenal massage therapist. I have been struggling with a herniated disk in my back, and I credit her with a lot of my recovery. I've been seeing her regularly for about 6 months now, and I always look forward to the wonderful massages she gives--it feels great, and it's extremely therapeutic. She's also been able to help me with other little injuries along the way, given me exercises & stretches to assist in my recovery. Dana gets the absolute highest recommendation I can give. read more

I contacted Dana after suffering significant pain in my lower back and have been practising yoga with her for almost two years now. She is an outstanding instructor: she allows me to go at my own pace, but without letting me slack during our practice - I really feel that we pack a lot into our hour of yoga. She is very focused on ensuring that my yoga focuses on problem areas of my body, but always within the context of a balanced session. A wonderful by-product of her yoga is that it has dramatically reduced my stress levels in addition to helping me repair my body. I can't recommend her highly enough! read more

I can't weigh in on the yoga, but Dana gives one heck of a good prenatal massage. I went in with a laundry list of pregnancy related body aches and quirks. I have been getting massage from Dana for about a year and I think she is amazing. I was having serious issues with my back after having a baby and then in his first year doing an unusual (or what I thought out to be considered unusual!) amount of international travel with our extremely heavy little bunny and my back couldn't take it. Tried Phys Therapy and a number of other things but they weren't working - which i take partial responsibility for - I was horrible at keeping up with full time work sched, baby and then that - so tried getting periodic massage from dana instead and haven't had a problem since. It's been by far the most sustainable option and is a great forced quiet hour during a typically hectic week. I also have carpel tunnel and she does an amazing job working on my arms. AND - she is a wonderful person and very easy to be around - extremely good sense of others and what level of interaction the need/want, etc. I've also done yoga with her, and she's incredibly talented in that realm as well (check her website). I can't say enough about her. (and her husband is a personal chef!) read more
