I found Dr. Renee Sandlin to be dismissive and unkind, and it appeared that patients' concerns were not treated with the seriousness and dignity they deserve. It was particularly troubling to witness behavior that came across as mocking or insensitive toward individuals in vulnerable medical situations. Rather than prioritizing patient care, the atmosphere seemed focused on processing patients quickly and generating billing. As a result of this experience, I no longer feel safe or confident seeking medical treatment through WellSpan. I would rather travel to the next town and receive care through UPMC, where I believe my health and well-being would be treated with greater professionalism and respect.

They really seem to go above and beyond at this place. For example, after the medical assistant took my vitals and exited the room, I started coughing / hacking uncontrollably. She heard me and came back in and proactively offered me one of their free bottled waters, which I very much appreciated. Also, when the PA/doctor later came in and I told her my symptoms and how I had tried to self-treat with some old Rx meds I had on hand (on the recommendation of my mom, who is also a nurse), she actually commended me for doing that, re-upped my Rx, and told me to keep going. Although it was no fun to be sick right before the December holidays, this place made treating that sickness less stressful than the typical urgent care. I give this place 5 stars -- maybe even 6!

I told them I thought I needed an antibiotic and was worried to wait any longer because the pain had gotten much worse over the course of the day. When the doctor came in she said, "honey, we aren't going to prescribe you pain medicine here." --???? I was dumbfounded on how little empathy she had, as I was in tears from how bad the pain was. She got up, left the room without doing a single test, evaluation, NOTHING, and told me I could leave (didn't show me to the door or anything just left me in the room). I ended up calling an on call nurse and got an antibiotic myself. One of the most frustrating experiences of my life; I felt very invalidated and uncared for by the nurses and doctors here!
