The good news is that The Hamilton Mercantile has risen from the ashes of the old general store, and it's a welcome breath of fresh air in a town that needs it. It's clean! And bright! They have nice tables! And since it's pretty much the only game in town for a lot of things, I'm glad they have tons of grocery staples (eggs, milk, butter, beer, hard seltzers, bread, canned food, peanut butter), toiletries, ice, candy, ice cream, and more. They've got lots of camping supplies, such as s'mores ingredients, propane, wood, camping chairs, charcoal, fishing gear, hand warmers, tarps, bug spray, matches, etc, as well as toiletries and tylenol and toys and floaties and charging cords and clothing and gifts and a lot of other things you never knew you needed. I'm particularly happy that they have Boar's Head meat that they sell by the pound, as well as make sandwiches. A girl eating at one of the cute little tables had herself a good-looking breakfast sandwich too, and there's also a pretty extensive pizza and wings menu now too. Haven't had the pleasure of eating any of those yet, but I'm sure it'll happen soon. Best of all, they sell lottery tickets. And when I win the $1.5 billion mega millions tonight, I believe The Hamilton Mercantile gets $1 million for selling me the winning ticket. And I think they deserve it.

If you stop to stock up those forgotten camping items or it you've put on your last tee shirt - get something with a Big Foot theme, it could save your day! He & She are out there!

She mentioned that it's a new machine and someone might not have known how to use it. The refund was pending in my account for a day then, poof, pending refund disappeared. I now have to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Beware of paying with a card at this place!

In addition to their ample beer selection, bottled drinks, basic foodstuffs, fishing and hunting supplies, and deli, they also have good hot foods, good enough for this gas station to be one of my father's favorite restaurants. Before you start picturing him leaning over the checkout eating a hot dog off the roller grill, I should mention that they have a side room with a few booths and tables and will bring your food out to you. And, in terms of food, they have quite a variety- the stuffed peppers and chicken wings are my personal favorites. Or, if you're there in the morning, either on your way to go hunt or or your way to work, definitely consider the breakfast combo. For under $5, you get a 16 oz coffee, hash brown, and wonderfully filling breakfast sandwich that comes with two sausage patties and two eggs. Whenever I get this, I'm filled until lunch. As I have noted, though, Fuel & Food is a popular destination for sportspeople and they have seasonal contests for the heaviest fish, nicest deer, and other "great hunts." It was smooth as silk and refreshing! I'd vouch for it any day. The store itself was decent and a pretty good size. It's also located near Broadway and by a big parking lot so it's easy to get to. The ice creams here also looked really good but I was already stuffed from drinking a big chug of their famous milk, but it's definitely next on my list!
