If I could rate this place negative zero I would. Very unprofessional and rude. Not organized at all.

Use extreme caution if using Dr. Mayfield for adolescents - especially girls with depression, body…read moreimage or self-harming behaviors. He is very "low affect" (some might say "low key" - but with a real creepy factor - like he's been sampling his medical supplies a bit too much) And he doesn't seem to understand that the adolescent brain reacts differently than an adult brain does to psychotropic medications - and can have dire results when stacking multiple meds!) We took our teenage daughter to him for depression and cutting and wound up having to have her admitted to a mental health facility for teens after she began behaving VERY BIZARRELY late one night about 2 to 3 weeks after starting the three meds Dr. M prescribed - an antidepressant, an antianxiety med, and "something to help her sleep". She was hallucinating and clawing at her arms and not making any sense - but could we reach ANYONE at Dr. Mayfield's office - NO! - we left multiple messages, sat up with our daughter all night and when we finally reached the office that next morning, the office manager said that they'd gotten the messages but that since our daughter had an appointment the next day anyway, they didn't think it needed a call back (?!?!?What?!?!? my kid is talking about imaginary creatures stealing the letters off her text messages and then scratching at her forearms until they were bleeding - and that doesn't deserve a call back?!? In what universe?!) And the Doc wanted to add a 4th medication to the mix! Against his advice we took her to the hospital where they said they were very familiar with Dr. Mayfield's practices - they even called him Dr. Michael the Menace! Said you have to be VERY careful using psychotropic medications with teens - and Dr. Mayfield did not seem to know or care that adolescent brains cannot take the same meds or combinations of meds that an adult brain might tolerate. Don't know how he would be for adult patients - I found him to be very creepy and way too unctuous for me. But if all you want is a doc who'll just keep throwing prescriptions in your direction while not even bothering to make eye contact with you, then maybe he's the guy for you?

When we learned she would be transferred, I was nervous -- as any parent would be -- but then we met Dr. Chakra and his incredible assistant, Kaitlyn, and everything changed. Dr. Chakra is not only knowledgeable, but deeply compassionate. He truly sees my daughter, not just her diagnosis. He listens, he cares, and he treats her whole person -- her mind, her heart, and her future. After years of trying local doctors who rushed us in and out with quick prescriptions and no real answers, Amen Clinics felt like the first place that genuinely wanted to understand her. This journey hasn't been easy, but the growth we've seen over these seven years is nothing short of amazing. The progress my daughter has made has given us hope, peace, and a sense of stability we never thought we would have. If you're on the fence about coming here, don't be. It is worth every penny -- for your child, and for your peace of mind. We are forever grateful to Dr. Chakra, Kaitlyn, and the entire Amen Clinics team for changing our lives.

Contacted the appointment # 404-365-0966 as I'm feeling pretty miserable today with flu/covid type of symptoms. My appt was with my Dermatologist and set for 2 pm. I called at 8 am. I explained that I would rather not come to the appt due to getting others sick & could I reschedule. She explained I would be charged the cancellation fee of $25 for the late notice. I asked her if they prefer that I spread germs to innocent bystanders? Even if I were to wear a mask and disinfect my hands, we all know these viruses, Covid, Flu, etc. can easily spread like wildfire. A bit concerning... I think of the people (senior citizens, children, people that are already terminally ill, etc. being there) and me bringing in germs. Yes, I know it's common we pass germs in hospitals, etc. but if we could take into consideration of others, maybe we wouldn't spread it so quickly & effect others, just saying. She never answered the question by the way. Basically they want that $75 copay & do not care that I'm spreading germs or that I feel miserable right now. They're going to make money either way, whether it's my measly $25 cancellation fee or the $75 copay. Very disappointing KP and I didn't realize you were so greedy. Your marketing dept likes to elude that you actually care... Actions speak louder than words right? I care so I'll pay your little $25 cancellation fee to help others out. Shame on you & your unsympathetic policies.
