As I was recovering from foot surgery, I relied on the information I was given and trusted that everything was in order. However, after the work was completed, I used the faucet and discovered that it was leaking. When I raised the issue, I was told that the leak was due to the previous plumber who had originally installed the faucet. Despite the problem not being resolved, I was still expected to pay for the service. From my perspective, I  refuse to pay for a repair that did not fix the issue. I found the experience frustrating and unprofessional, and I believe customers should be aware of my experience before hiring this company.

I phoned this plumber and he told me the garburator had to be replaced by a new one. *** He asked me for the make and model of the garburator and I emailed it back to him***. He replied and said it would cost $350 to $450, without telling me that it was not the same model. Since I am not in the plumbing business I trusted him thinking that that's how much a replacement would cost. After he finished installing it he told me the cost of the garburator was $400.00, plus tax and labor. He also said that he had to force to close the cabinet door and broke a container in order to fit. No word was said about compensation of the damage, but I just let it go. Afterwards I was wondering why the new garburator would not fit and found that it was a different brand and model and was much bigger than the old one. I then found out online that a new one the same make and model of my old one was $104.00. It is ridiculous to suggest one that is 4 times more expensive than the old one, which was a good machine until it was broken due to human error. I phone him the same evening and asked him to remove the new one and refunded me its cost. After 2 weeks of numerous attempts to set up an appointment he finally set up a date. However, he said he would charge me for the labor and only refund a portion of the garburator. I disagree so he did not return nor refund me.

Mr. Rooter Surrey overcharged clients -bad customer service…read more A technician came to my house in Surrey to replace a zone valve for my boiler. It took him about five minutes to identify the valve that needed to be replaced (we had told him it was a zone valve issue) and then he went shopping for a new valve. After he came back with a valve, it took him less than one hour to install it. Per the technician, the new valve costs about $200 and per the company, the service fee is $198 per hour, but they charged me over $600. That is not right. Mr. Rooter customer service lady said they did not have a standard for charging customers per what service they did, they charge the money depends on how long a technician is out for the task. If the technician went out a whole day, then the customer had to pay the company for a whole day. Mr. Rooter customer service lady said they should have charges me over $700. I had the same kind of valves changed before, it just costed less than $300 for replacing one valve. I know the price and service fee are up so I think $400 is fine, but over $ 600 or $700 for replacing a valve is not reasonable. (Actually the price of the zone valve just increased a little bit.) (I had used the services of Mr. Rooter for many years. It was a good company in the past, when technicians came, they had the parts with them and they knew how much they should charge, they did not need to call their boss asking what they should charge us.) Unfortunately it is not a good company anymore.

First technician came with minimal tool or preparation, spent time looking around and informed me that the capacitor is faulty, need to come back next day because he hasn't a replacement capacitor. Next day, however another chap turned up, attached a gas pressure metering device to the condenser, but did not refer to the capacitor. He guessed instead ( 90% sure, he said) the fault of the heat pump is due either to the TXV valve or the coil, and it's going to be labour intensive and expensive to rectify. Given the contradictory diagnosis from the 2 technicians and their somewhat uncertain demeanour, I ended up paying $ 365 for the cost of their service call and 2 hours of fruitless "lookaround".

Jas, our plumber was outright professional, knowledgeable and answered all my questions giving me a scope of the work and kept me updated on what we found out as he tried to determine the source of the leak. I recall I asked a quotation before from a different plumbing service and they gave a grandiose estimate of what it would take to get it repaired including the stained drywall ceiling. Easily in the 5-6K range. I'm so glad I did not try them as it seemed to me they just saw me as a potential 'victim' for maximizing their earnings. My faith in reasonable and professional plumbing services has been restored. There are people and services like Jas who give you clear, professional, cost-sensitive and empathetic service doing what it takes to reassure you and get it done. We had an emergency repair needed to a copper hot water pipe in a three storey apartment building…read morebursting as the City had turned the water on and off, without notification, causing too much pressure in old copper pipes. Sam answered our call and was able to respond quickly, sending two knowledgeable plumbers to our building. They investigated where the leak was coming from, found another leak in the same apartment and repaired quickly and efficiently. They had to come back for another leak, and Marin, the plumber came and did the repair the same day. I can not recommend this company more.
