Lake Success Dental Care Edith…read more Five stars and a dentist's office sounds like an oxymoron, a contradiction, a paradox. It's like jumbo shrimp or a garbage dump that smells sweet. These things just don't make sense or don't happen...and yet, there's an exception to every rule. In this case, Lake Success Dental Care in New Hyde Park 100% fits that idea. Okay, maybe I just have a very melodramatic history with dentists. I didn't go to one for a length of time I'd rather not discuss just due to never having a legitimate dentist I trusted or felt wouldn't yell at me for lack of brushing/flossing/etc. Then my sis/mother told me about Lake Success Dental Care and I finally decided I needed to bite the bullet (preferably not before a dentist trip, tooth joke) and make an appointment (plus they accepted my insurance, so that worked). Upon entering the office building where the practice is located, I was a ball of nerves, but the nicely-decorated waiting area almost didn't feel like I was about to have people stick their hands in my mouth. Things were comfortable and welcoming, with a phone charging station available if needed. Good start. Once my name was called, the nerves rose a little more, but each employee I met was very kind and I have to say, no one even came close to wagging a finger in my direction due to dental hygiene (even if they probably should have). The dentist I saw that day, Dr. Dai, didn't emanate a great initial friendliness, but he still kept things calm in his process. From that first trip back in November to now, I've visited Lake Success Dental Care four times (one more before a break!) and they've done some great work in getting my mouth all caught up on cleanings and fillings. Each trip was more of the same: calm, welcoming, timely, and never reprimanding (a big win in my book). I also met Edith, who will process your payments before you depart. She's a big reason why I almost (dare I say) enjoy coming to the dentist. Her and the whole friendly staff has made a lasting impression on me (even Dr. Dai opened up this last time around). Two other favorable factors worth mentioning are their hours and notifications. They run crazy times for a dentist's office with nights going until 9 as well as weekend hours available both Saturday and Sunday. They honestly make it hard for you to not find a time that works (even if you try...which I might have done when making that first phone call, heh heh). Once you've got your appointment, they'll call, email, and even text to make sure don't forget when to come in. Even though I'm usually good with dates, it's still great to know when I'm approaching that dental visit (you can't escape it!) Overall, Lake Success Dental Care has turned my world around in how I perceive dentists. I'm sure there are plenty of practices that are actually formidable for those without a childhood phobia of dentistry, but if you're reading this review and fear for your next dental visit, fear no more! Lake Success Dental Care is here for comfort, friendliness, proficiency, and an all-around positive experience. So maybe five stars isn't so far fetched for a dentist. I would not recommend as the crowns were not made correctly and needed to be highly adjusted. Both crowns should have been a visual for the dentist to see they were not straight, uneven and sharp edges, when putting them in. Terrible experience. No well informed information before a testing procedures, they tell you a week later something wasn't covered and then charge a highly excessive fee for records which is not within the federal guidelines for electronic copies of records or images.

I had terrible tooth pain and my previous dentist would not take me. I called Dr. Kshonz in a true emergency and he was able to get me in within 30 minutes on a Sunday. I have never seen such quick help from a doctor! I have continued going to his practice for years since then. He and his entire staff are so caring and Dr Kshonz has an incredible bedside manner. He…read moreremoved the tooth on August 17.Despite the fact that every article and dentist that I have spoken to advises that a tooth extraction should hurt for no more than one week I saw him four or five more times and each time he told me my Mouth was healing, despite my complaining of continual pain. Finally after a month of visits I finally lost my temper in his office, he sent me to a friend of his in Massapequa. This was only after I insisted that the pain was continuing and that my two knee replacements healed quicker than his tooth extraction. His friend in Massapequa did a perfunctory exam and sent me home telling me there was nothing wrong. Thankfully, I found an oral surgeon in Hewlett, Joshua Wolf who immediately did a test and indicated that I needed to be hospitalized and treated as my jawbone was so fragile that it was in danger of fracturing. I had the surgery at Mount Sinai in Oceanside and a biopsy was done, which indicated that not only did I have an infection, but had cancer in my jawbone. It is still to be determined how much the cancer spread while Dr. Kshonz was insisting that it was healing. At some point I should've been told That the tooth was not healing properly and that I should seek the advice of an oral surgeon. I have been advised that a cosmetic dentist probably should've referred the initial extraction to an oral surgeon. His refusal to acknowledge after weeks of treatment that my pain was not normal, and the fact that it required me to finally throw a temper tantrum in his office Is inexcusable. My family and I used him in the past but his casual approach to what turned out to be a grave matter cannot be forgiven. I never post negative reviews, but my life was actually in danger due to his lack of action. A sore that doesn't heal is an indication of something more than simple pain from an extraction.

Try as he did to come across as caring, I could only nod and open my eyes wide in disbelief as he quoted figures all the while his eyes saying show me the money. The waiting area is huge and comfortable. You can catch your favorite soaps here while you wait. There are also tellys in each examination room that patients can control. I was seen to in an unusually timely manner. My overall experience (though I am definitely considering other options) was a solid 4. Basically a good dentist and salesman. No problems here. The problem, and it is a big one for me, is his business practices. He quoted a price for his services and then, without any mention exacted significantly more for a "consultation" after the work was done. In this case, tripling the price. Specifically, I visited his office for a cleaning and imaging and was quoted a $ 225 fee. While I was there I asked about tooth pain. He looked at adjacent teeth, never mentioning charges. Upon leaving, I was billed $610 for "Consultation". Some may feel this is fair. No discussion permitted; just my problem. You be the judge. Imaging, which was included with the cleaning must be read by a doctor. So a cleaning must include some consultation. No explanation offered. Just pay up. If a patient feels so bamboozled, eh - robbed - that he is posting in every Internet forum and telling every Rockville Centre resident he knows, Dr. Hasday has failed him. Dr. Hasday might review his billing practices. An otherwise fine practitioner should not be leaving his patients feeling they were dealing with a lier and were ripped off.
