As a dance studio owner in CA, it has now become my obligation to share a review on our experience working with Weissman over the past few years for other dance studio owners to see as it has been appaling. First off, I cannot leave every single employee of Weissman a one-star, as there have been some that have been extremely kind and helpful over the years. That being said, they seem to have a serious top down (middle management I'm guessing?) customer service issue. We have been belittled, screamed at, made fun of, and downplayed on multiple encounters we have had with this company including from "managers" over the phone. While the quality of their costumes helped Weissman to make a name for themselves, I urge you with caution to place orders (especially in higher quantities like ours which is tens of thousands of dollars per year), where they explicitly state that they do not honor their own size guidelines that they advertise. I have never heard of a company who advertises a size guide, cannot honor the size guide, and will not pay for a shipping return label when multiple costumes do not fit according to their own size guide. We have had issues with full price items, clearance items, and more, that over time has amounted to hundreds of dollars and our time returning costumes that were falsely advertised. I cannot believe that a company of this nature would treat customers so poorly, and incorrectly advertise a "general" size guide... come on Weissman, you can do better. We will be looking elsewhere. read more

Ordered a leotard for my daughter from this company. Read reviews that sizing ran small and to order up a size. I measured my daughter and ordered up a size according to the Balera size chart figuring worst case scenario she will grow into it. Leotard showed up and it was too small and the arm holes were sewn too small. Double checked the measurements to make sure I had not made a mistake. Sent an email including my daughters measurements to show the mistake was theirs and was told that shipping was on me. I am good with paying shipping if I made the mistake, but I did not. I won't do business with a company that won't admit and take care of mistakes, bad business model period. read more

A few years ago, due to horrible customer service (pre-covid) I decided not to use Weissmans. Then I tried them again post covid and all was good but this year most of my costumes I ordered are too small. I always round up in measurements or if close to being borderline in the sizing chart but they are tight!!!! Not sure I will use them again. read more

The dance boutique close to us (in our suburb of Chicago) is nice, yet entirely too expensive. My daughter's been dancing for nine years now, several times per week and she's on two teams, in addition to classes, so she needs clothes, gear, and supplies often. There are numerous sites online, yet Dancewear Solutions has become my go to. I've found that they have good variety, and great prices! We've ordered everything from tap/ballet/jazz shoes to leotards, exercise shorts and foot undies from them. And let me tell you, their tights are awesome! Good quality, at a fraction of the boutique's price! I always order multiple pairs to always have them on hand. And I always browse their clearance section. They ship super fast, too! There's nothing not to like. I've never been to the store in St. Louis, but one day when we're there and have time, we will check it out. I believe we'll love it, too!! read more

Had been AMAZING for years. Assuming it's COVID related, but nonetheless, now completely unresponsive and difficult. We placed an order prior to COVID and had difficulties like everyone else. Understanding they also had difficulties, we merely inquired about exchanging sizes on recital leotards as many of our students outgrew their sizes with the COVID delays -they responded by letting me know that they had posted on their website the last day for returns/exchanges for pre-COVID orders and that I missed it by a day...would have been helpful to receive an email notice. I receive emails from them EVERYDAY about sales/new stock, etc. I pointed this out to them to no avail. We had to have parents get really creative with their sewing to make the small leotards work. Most recently, I sent an email inquiry about a recently received order and regarding sizing on their tights - they have apparently decided to just ignore it. Awkward since I told parents how great and responsive Weissman's is, that we've used them the past five years, and that I would have an answer for them ASAP. No professional relationship lasts forever. We'll likely be looking for a new company to order from in the fall. read more

I have tried calling and emailing aboit my issue with one of my orders... solution they give me. Send them back as a return (that obviously i have to pay for) .. my shoes came in a beaten box and i was sent the wrong size. read more

This poor store is in the abyss of empty storefronts across Manchester Road from Failoni Restaurant. There used to be a Sam's in here, and other such stores. Now there's a Shop 'n Save and K-Mart. AND WEISSMAN'S DANCEWEAR SOLUTIONS!!! I needed dance shoes, found what I wanted on the website. Went to the store. Got sizing assistance. Voila!! Easy-peasy. My lunching friend needed yoga clothing for her daughter, and found a long pant and a capri that suited just fine! There's lots of dance stuff in here! Plenty of variety. Fancy and plain. And the website is a handy go-to for checking if they have what you need. If you're not sure, call them. That's what I did, and they were happy to talk to me!! read more

I am writing this at 9:54am, having just received my order placed yesterday at 1pm through DancewearSolutions.com (same company as Weissman's, I learned over the phone). I needed an item within 2 days for a dance recital (which is tomorrow). I was prepared to pay extra for expedited shipping when I saw in the checkout screen that free ground shipping stated "1-day delivery", which I was very skeptical about, so I called and was told this was only an estimate based on my location (in an adjacent state), and that processing may take up to 48 hours before the order ships, and I was also warned that due to COVID, shipping may be further delayed. It was recommended that I select expedited shipping to ensure delivery in time, but if I wanted to take a chance with free ground shipping, I could call about an hour after placing my order to let their team know I was hoping to have this order ASAP so they could push it through processing a little quicker, but again, they warned that they couldn't make any guarantees. It wasn't the end of the world if it didn't arrive in 2 days (we could still use everything after recital), and I didn't want to pay $20 for expedited shipping so I chanced free shipping and called an hour later. Both reps were super nice and helpful. The second confirmed exactly what the first had said. I received tracking notification last evening that my order would arrive this morning, and it did! Everything perfect and exactly as ordered. So happy that everything went better than expected, and we have what we need in time for a stage performance...with a day to spare! Keep in mind that free ground shipping was 1-day for me because I live in a nearby state. Further distances would obviously take longer. But for me, service has been spectacular. Couldn't be happier. 17 days after placing my order, it still had not left the St Louis area, despite Dancewear Solutions website advertising same day shipping and 2-4 day delivery. Customer service repeatedly lied to me about shipping dates; tracking numbers showed a different story. I have used Weissmans for several years in the past for studio dance and have loved the Balera line of clothing, but their side arm of Dancewear Solutions for non-studio owners has TERRIBLE customer service and I will look elsewhere for the products I need. read more

Very and extremely upset that the store isn't there anymore. It was better when parents were given their kids dance list and went directly to Weissman's dance store to get their child or children's clothes and shoes. You never considered teams from out of town who are at theses dance competitions who might need a last minute item that either got lost or torn and needed a local dance shop to get their items right then and there. Needed a new pair of tap shoes. Ordered the first two pairs, Bloch's, from Amazon. The first pair lasted about a year, until the taps wore off. Now the strange part. I ordered the same, exact pair, same size, but the second pair were smaller. I was able to wear thin socks with the first pair; none with the second. So glad I found Dancewear Solutions. Bloch's Tap shoes are a perfect fit, well-made, look great, well-packaged and shipped super-fast. Definitely Recommend.... read more

Shipping 4-5 days after order is ridiculous when it's in stock.

Beyond disappointed in this company. They have left me with no costume and telling a girl that she has nothing wear to competition based because of fabric issue. My order has been placed for 2 months, and they change the ship date within 3 weeks of shipment and push it out 2 MONTHS!!!! read more

i ordered a product online fron these woman and was charged for it. the order was sent to the leasing offfice where i both live and work, so there is no such thing as failed attempts to deliver like the lady said because the package was supposed to be delivered to the office. i even confirmed with y coworkers that no deliveries by ups were made. i placed the order 10/24 for halloween. it was going to take 3 to 7 business days i guess...... and here we are on the end of day 11/2 and the product hasnt even arrived because they didnt process the order til 10/26!!! it took them 2 dyas just to put the order through! halloween has come and passed. i have made 2 attempts to return the item or cancel the order and have had the WORST costumer service possible. i plan on writing this experience on ever review site possible. not once did any of the ladies appologize or offer to help in anyway! instead she told me to call UPS! are you serious?! the product is totally useless to me and now i have to go thru this stupid process to get my money back for something i havent even received. instead i went to a dance boutique in walnut creek ca on ygnacio valley road that offered way better costumer service and the pricing was way cheaper.
