The store is located conveniently, spacious and well organized, and carries a large selection of models and board games, divided into each their own section. There is a board game library that I never ventured into, but it seems useful. Every game that anyone has ever mentioned by a boardgame loving friend, I've looked for here and found at competitive prices to Amazon, always here for the instant gratification and impulse buy&play. Staff is friendly for suggestions. There's also a really spacious and clean separate room for playing, though tbh I've never gotten the nerve to cross the threshold in. The reality of my life now is that Miniature Market has become part of our Sunday grocery run. The last stop before driving back. I hate it. I resent all the impulse purchases my husband makes, and how expensive miniature painting is as a hobby in general, and how easy they make it here to feed the addiction. My experience is with Miniature Market's webstore. I have made somewhat regular purchases for eight years, in fact. But no more. The delays in shipping have gone on for months and emails go unanswered for a week. Today I got news that while one of my purchases was finally marked as shipped, the warehouse is actually out of inventory so they will start the refund process. But after all this waiting, that product is very difficult to find elsewhere. So if I still want to buy it, the price has gone up significantly. Most frustratingly, the item is *still* listed as in stock on Miniature Market's webstore. I should have just paid a little more somewhere else; I would have had the item a lot sooner and ultimately cheaper than what it'd cost now. I really caution against making any purchases from Miniature Market. The number of bad experiences I've had with this store is ridiculously high. After more than 12 days I'm still waiting for an order to process. Customer service has already addressed the issue, admitting their ads were misleading (at the time I placed my pick up order, their website stated pickups would be available the next day). The in-store clerks have always been rude, and literally every pick up order I placed over the years had items missing, or wasn't ready when promised. Don't waste time trying to save money shopping here. It gets worse. The status says: Processing Singles. My order doesn't even have any singles in it. I was told by customer service that the "singles" status is being used to freeze peoples orders. If i've waited for 12 days without any update on my order, I can only imagine how frustrated those not on your "priority queue" list feel right now (you can pay extra money to move your order up the queue)! read more

Prices on 5 out of 5 board/card games we ordered we less expensive here than at Target or Amazon! We ordered from the online store to pick up in store (since we live locally in St. Louis). Even though we ordered on a weekend, we were able to pick up our order 30 minutes later. How's that for customer service? While waiting for the cashier to grab our order from the back, we noticed a table with "dent and ding" items selling for even less. For example, we paid $10 for flip city, but it was selling for just $7 because the wrapper was ripped. I would have tried to exchange, but we were already getting such a good deal, I didn't want to worry about saving another $3. Of the other dented/dinged items, none were destroyed to affect the integrity of the box or the game. If I even need a game in the future, I am shopping here first! read more

Supplies to store and keep cards and models safe during transport or storage. They have a large room for gaming ( ( closed currently due to Covid) and a huge library of games to play it n store (also currently unavailable). I have made numerous orders from Miniature Market web store and was always pleased in the past. I have 3 orders outstanding, one from January and still have not received my orders. I have left emails and voice mails with customer service over the past several months as they don't answer their phones - still no response. I have stopped ordering from them and have warned all my board gamer friends to do the same. Not sure what has happened, but very disappointing. The worst part is I keep receiving marketing emails to keep buying new games. If you can't deliver what customers have ordered, please stop marketing your games until you fix your back log problems. read more

After 38 online orders over the course of 4 years, I can say with certainty that MM have amazing customer service. Their price is below market cost for most board games, and they have a wide selection of current and future pre-orders, but they really shine at packaging and timely shipping. I've never had a game come damaged from them, which I can't say from their competitors (GN, CSI, FA, CH, Target, TTM). The one time they had to cancel on an order since it was out of stock, they refunded me and gave me store credit so I can buy something else at the sale price. As an avid board gamer, I was excited when I heard of miniature market opening because it just means more board games for me to buy in person than online lol. I don't travel here often unless to check out games, do the fun ding and dents(discounted games if they are "dented" up) and any other sales they post. The environment is clean, big and open with a very accommodating play area where you are able to bring your own games and food and play or check out a game for a small library fee to play (which can be helpful before buying). Extremely poor service. I had my orders on "Customer Hold" in order to hit the free shipping threshold. I requested they release my orders 12 days ago and they have yet to do anything despite my several emails. When they finally responded 5 days later they said it would ship in "1-3 days." I've been playing D&D on Monday evenings at Miniature Market since the end of January, 2020. I've also made some purchases at the store. The staff I've met have been knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. Deciding to curtail many of my social activities due to Covid 19 emergency, I contacted MM's "customer support" via email to let them know I'd not be attending game nights for awhile and asked that the person who ran the games for my group be notified. That was Monday morning after trying to call several times and being informed the phone number listed on their website was not in service - I called during the hours posted on their site. Cool little surprise when I came in here. Really big board game store and seems to have frequent competition and events going on, which is always a good sign. First time customer. I ordered 3 Battletech Battlemats from this company. It was a great price and the shipping fees were quite reasonable. They arrived today undamaged. I'm not giving them 5 stars because they arrived in pristine condition though. They deserve 6 stars for how well protected the maps were in their shipping box! I'm 55 years old. I have ordered from Miniature Market multiple times over the years, but had never visited the store in person. This year while visiting family in Illinois I made it a point to check out the store. There a hundreds of games discounted at a various levels down to 80%, with quite a few decent games in that selection. They also have computers to order the newer games online since all of the new games are located in the warehouse in the back. I placed my order on my phone while I was browsing the discounted items. Within 10 minutes someone brought my games out from the back. Staff were friendly and very helpful to customers who had questions. Usually prices are lower than CS or Amazon. read more

Unbeatable prices but very poor customer service. On multiple occasions I've ordered from them through their online store (I have spent hundreds of dollars at this store) and it has taken days for my order to "ship." They have stipulations on shipping times but in every instance that I've ordered it has been days past when I should have had my order shipped. Most recently I ordered on 10/25. Item was in stock and it was a Wednesday, so the middle of the business week, my order didn't ship for 7 days and it only showed signs of actually moving forward after I emailed on two occasions and called their number. Calling initiated it actually moving from "packaged," to shipped (somehow it happened the same minute as my phone call). I was told that the delay was not normal and that my order would be "expedited." My shipping time was unchanged and it still took 2 business days from that response for me to have my item actually shipped out. I will never use their service again. The prices are pretty unbeatable but it's not worth the hassle with the company. I have since been called (only after a google review had been made). Shipping was refunded along with 10% of what my order cost. Still never again and it's just crazy that it ever went that far. They blamed "new staff" ultimately for the issue when it really falls on poor training and management. read more

Ordered a lot of stuff online, and everything was delivered promptly and in great shape to California. I really like their prices, and they seem to be better on most items than other sites. Slight confusion when you log onto your account to check order status, because they update didn't always match, but despite this, it was on time. Weirdest one was on May 10th, I checked the status and it said "Delivered: May 11th", as in past tense, but in the future. Then it was updated, saying it would be delivered the 13th, but it had already been delivered. I chalk this up to them using FedEx Smartpost, which is FedEx that gets handed off the USPS. So once it's handed off, I think it only gets delivered Monday through Friday. Anyway, no real complaints, just don't freak out on the status because it can be a little confusing. read more

However, my guess is this is a busy season for them as my delivery has taken nearly a week to ship and a number of items I ordered were not in stock, despite what was on the website. They have a great new brick and mortar store on Manchester. There is a huge selection on the shelves and they have a great presence at Geekway in St. Louis every year. My husband and I pop in every now and then to browse and add to our ever growing board game collection. We usually always find something new that we want to play. Buyer beware for international purchases Shipping to very expensive and on top of that I got hit with a large import duty when ordering to the UK. No where in their FAQ does in it mention anything about import duty being a risk. I incorrectly assumed that the ridiculous cost of ship was due to duty pushing the price up. I have contacted them and they insist on the customer being responsible for being aware of these things and have no intention of updating their FAQ. Do not make the same mistake I did. read more
