I happened to be in area today and figured why not stop by and see if things had changed at Saga Toys in 4 years. Honestly, not much has changed. There is still a wide selection of different toy lines to choose from and the organization has gotten better. Figures had actual price stickers on them this time, but the store continues to be overpriced when compared to other toy stores in the St. Louis area and online retailers, sadly even eBay. Yes I know overhead is a thing, but some figures had an almost 100% markup, example Masters of the Universe: Origins - Deluxe Snake Face MISB priced at $44.95 but MSRP is $23.99 and can be readily found on any of the big online retailers. The figure is not vintage either so I can't understand the justification for the price. My biggest disappointment came when inspecting the Transformer figures and I noticed the store had an over abundance of figures specifically from Wave 1 and Wave 2 of Legacy. Why is this a disappointment you ask? Well these figures were sold in two-packs as part of Wal-Mart's 2024 Black Friday Door Busters and were eventually marked down starting at $17 and then down to $7 per two-pack. Saga simply opened the figures up and marked the price back to MSRP. I'm all for charging a fair rate and since these are technically MSRP there's no scalping of price on these items, but the practice in general feels very scummy. This is now my second revision of my original review back in 2019 and I still cannot recommend buying from Saga. I'm sure the owners mean well and maybe they do have a loyal following of regular customers who buy, but I can't figure out how this store stays open, much less profitable. read more

The manufacturer Neca Toys is against scalping and mark up of their products and has a contract disclaimer which retailers sign regarding how much they can sell Target exclusive toys at only the retail price. The store clearly sells new release Neca TMNT figures for over ebay pricing and the retail pricing of what would have been $51.99 retail for their mark up price of $124. read more

Beyond disgusting, this shop marks up all there pricing 3-4 times more then the retail. They go to all the Target/Walmart stores in there area & purchase everything to sell in there store. This shop has been exposed in multiple forums/groups. Don't support this reseller store !! read more

This store has a huge variety of both new toys and vintage toys. Everything is well organized and on shelves. When I asked for help they helped me right away. I like to examine and look at my purchase prior to payment and having this store enables me to inspect the toys. Playing with retro toys with my son creates new memories and brings me back to my memories as a child. Priceless memories built and cherished thank you Saga Toys!!! read more

I was there 08/21/21, I read a bunch of reviews about pricing and will say I was suspicious of the place going in. I was pleasantly surprised. The selection was great and I got 2 Marvel toys for less than they were going for online. The bad reviews were from a while back so maybe things have changed. This is a great place to find figures that are no longer in mainstream distribution. Their old location was a little small for the amount of product to browse however their new location is a lot bigger and it is much more organized now. While there is a slight mark-up you will find it is usually fairly reasonable based on the rarity of the item. If it was $10 in 2000 don't expect it to be $10 now. I drive by every couple of weeks with my kids to check out what is new. They are always friendly and will help you find what you are looking for. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place, but the StL area is really limited on nostalgia & collectible shops that aren't big business. I get the general feeling that it doesn't really matter whether you're there or not, because the woman and her kids spend the day watching a projection tv and we typically just wander around and find nothing we want. If you are desperate for funds or just want to sell your collection, don't show it. The owner smells a collector leaving the hobby like a shark sensing blood in the water. Doesn't seem like an overall bad guy, but I wouldn't expect a fair amount for your stuff. It is a business after all, which is a big reason I don't collect this stuff anymore. Toy collectors have issues, and I don't want to end up with a big ol' store full of stuff I can't sell like these people did. read more

Finally found a store In St Louis area that wasn't there to gouge the customers on trades like V Stock. My son has made a few trades and found some true rarities that fill his ten year old self with whimsy. Don't understand the low star reviews unless they're just miserable people expecting life handed to them on a platter. They act like the store produces the toys. Kinda ridiculous to assume that and to be that bitter about independent business. Anyway, enough with the haters. This place is great, worth the drive as we came in almost 3 hours for visits every few months. Haven't attended the special events but the fact they're doing that to add to community is inspiring. Support indie business as corporate anything stinks and eventually falls like the giraffe. read more

We hadn't been to Saga Toys in a while. To our surprise they have added hundreds of new toys of all different kinds. They have toys I didn't even know existed from all kinds of franchises. The lady who works there was so kind! We were looking for a specific kind of toy for my 5-year old. She walked us through many different options and prices. She also showed us around and gave us a tour of their self-made spaceship where the kids can play and have parties! The spaceship had all kinds of switches and buttons for the kind to pretend they are pilots flying in space. It was very cool and my kids loved it. I'll definitely be going there again! read more

I was excited to finally visit this store, I had heard quite a few good things about it. To my surprise, I did not see any good in this place... the lady working in the store could care less that I was even there. Most of their collectibles were above market value more than 20%. I was able to find a collectible that I didn't mind paying a little more than it was worth, but when I got home, I had realized that they slapped a saga toys sticker across the side of its packaging. This sticker did not come off easily either, as we speak, I'm going to have to go to the store to buy some goo gone in an attempt to remove the gunk from my purchase. Overall terrible expirience! I was very disappointed in my experience at saga. My kids love it. Well, we will no longer go back. I have a son with several issues, needs, that I will not go into. I only found this place because they were about to 'go under' and had friends posting about it along with a business post about it so I decided to check it out. My first few visits were fine....until today...maybe they should make there business for adults only and no one with any form of special needs. If this is the way they treat buying customers then I can see why they were on the verge of going under. I was embarrassed by the way my son was treated amongst other things. Cool, vintage toy store! Also have newer popular items too. Superhero/Star Wars based which was perfect for us. Prices were great! Also have some high dollar vintage toys that are just cool to view. Owner was really nice and actually created some awesome dioramas of Star Wars scenes. Wish we lived close enough for frequent visits. read more
