Not as good as the Giant in D-town (which was re-done a few years ago) and still better than the over-crowded Acme, They carry a few items that Giant doesn't (very specific stuff that I happen to like) so I come here only for those items. They also have a Coin Counter but it takes 11% if you want cash (OUCH) and 5% if you want a Weis' gift card instead. Not awful but not amazing. Still, helpful to have competition in town (Acme, Giant and Weis' are pretty much it - you can go to Warrington for Wegman's). read more

Maybe it was an off day due to the holidays but it was a mess when I visited this Weis location. Cleanup needed in multiple aisles. Low stock on almost everything. Items listed with sale prices but didn't ring up properly at the register so needed to wait almost 10 minutes to have my bill straightened out. If it was cause of the holidays then you're better off closing and not giving crap service. read more

Good quality sushi prepared by a Japanese chef. On my exploratory visit I ordered tuna sushi (6 pieces) and a spicy crab roll. Both were very good and priced to make me visit again. Don't waste your money at Ooka down the street, Weis does sushi right without all the wait. read more

The store is disgusting and dirty, spoiled food numerous times most recently sausage, expire three days before to go back and look and there was sausage on the shelf the expired two weeks prior to then by mass potatoes from Bob Evans that were watery and smell rancid, and I just threw out a container of egg whites because they were clumpy. Something is wrong with the store. It is very dirty the refrigeration is not up to par and someone is going to be very very sick from the store. Best Market in D-Town! Not sure about anyone who reads this post, but I'm a bargain hunter like the next person. Love a good deal; However, I'm not about to sacrifice quality or service regardless of a few pennies saved. Since my family moved to this area ages ago, we've shopped every market in the surrounding area...and then some! As for the major chain supermarkets, Acme is ok, if you catch a decent deal, Giant is the same. Weis, on the other hand, stands out all on it's own. Still a family owned and operated business, Weis actually take the time to care about their customers. The produce alone is worth the trip and their Weis brand products are surprisingly very good. What's truly impressive is that management cares about their employees. You just don't see that type of caring these days and it really does make a difference in the level of customer service you receive, which is stellar, in my humble opinion. This is a good grocery store. We shop here for some things they do not have at other stores like big jars of hot pepper rings. Their box wine is also reasonably priced. This is an okay to shop. The bottom line is this is what you would expect in a grocery store. read more

Unfortunately I can no longer recommend the beer section. They sell extremely out of date beer. I found cans that were a year old, and even some that were two years old. Customers deserve better. This used to be a well managed department but it is no longer. Ever since the introduction of wine, beer has been made second fiddle, the brand selection has dropped, and number of beers from the Budweiser distributor have skyrocketed. This is no longer a place that caters to the craft beer drinker who wants fresh beer, from a wide variety of breweries. read more

Good all-around supermarket. Produce is good, with rational pricing. Anthony, in Produce, does a great job. I have always found the staff to be very helpful when I need to locate an item, actually dropping what they are doing and taking me to the correct location. The selection may not be quite as extensive as some larger stores in the area, but Weis is consistently good. My first choice for grocery shopping. Graham is good, by the way. read more

One of their self service checkout attendants made me feel extremely uncomfortable as I was trying to bag my items. She walks towards me, stands there about a foot away from me, and stares at my items as I bag them, with this very unpleasant nasty look on her face. As I then turn to look at her, she continues to stand there for a couple more seconds, and then just storms away. It was unpleasant and unnecessary. They just lost a customer of 3+ years. This store is attractive to shop in because it is rarely crowded and you can get in and out. In addition, I want to support them because they are a Pennsylvania family owned business, but they do not rotate their inventory. I would estimate that 15-20% of our visits end up with an item that is out of date. I want to be able to trust that the items I grab are within code date. I'm happy to check my milk and eggs, but you need to inspect every item or else you run the risk of getting expired product. To Weiss' credit, they do accept the returns without hesitation, but I am losing my willingness to go back and return things so frequently. Please invest the time into checking your code dates or I'll be taking my family of 5's food purchases elsewhere. read more

Great store with courteous, helpful staff. I shop here each week and have never had a problem. The produce is always fresh and reasonable. I notice that some people complained about the self service help. I usually go to the self service checkout and find the staff very helpful and patient! I would recommend the Doylestown Weiss to anyone who wants a pleasant shopping experience. read more

Worst customer service ever! Stopped in today for the first time, don't have a customer card, asked the cashier to run the "store card" so I could get sale prices. Never had a problem with that at any other grocery store, EVER! Told me there is no store card and I could go to customer service to fill out an application for their card. I told her I was in a hurry and did not have time to fill one out and that it was annoying that there was no way for me to get the discounted prices. Honestly, I was not rude or nasty. Just annoyed. She threw up her hands in an "I don't care, can't do anything about it" gesture. I said "Well, if you don't care, at least tell someone in management who does." She said "I think I'll do that, RIGHT NOW!" Closed her register and walked away. The two customers behind me and I actually burst out laughing it was so bad! 5 minutes later a customer service rep came over and, without a word, opened the register, the cashier started ringing up my order and the woman behind me graciously let me use her card to get the discounted prices. Most ridiculous incident I have had in a long time. Absolutely unacceptable behavior from the cashier, who is unnamed because they apparently do not believe in name tags. And the customer service rep, not saying one word?? No wonder the store is empty, I predict they will not be there long. I did tell the cashier to have a nice day, and left shaking my head in amazement. read more

Last week I came down to the store to buy beef gravy and other things. I walked down the aisle where I thought the gravy would be A young man was stocking the shelf. I asked him, where is the beef gravy he told me a specific isle which I already looked down once. After not finding it I returned and asked him again. He said it should be down the aisle on the right side. I looked again couldn't find it. Then I went to customer service as there was a girl behind the desk speaking to another employee on the other side of the customer service desk.I asked them do you know where the gravy is? They said it's in the last isle. I looked up and down and finally found it. I made a point of walking by the two girls that continued to talk to each other at the customer service station with the gravy in my left hand so they couldn't see it. They both looked up as I walked by and neither one asked did you find it. They just kept talking to each other. One thing I do know this is when customers go through U scan there's a short heavyset woman that watches you like a hawk. As I've walked up she doesn't even say hello. The way that they stare at you as you scan your groceries I feel like they have absolutely no trust. I understand that there are customers that unfortunately steal from them but to stand there and watch and stare each customer is quite frankly rude. A simple hello how are you and thank you Would be welcoming, but never happens. When it comes to helping the customers find items no one knows anything nor do they care. But when you go to buy something they watch you like a hawk. Maybe the short heavyset lady with the short hair that pays so much attention when you're scanning your items should be out on the sales floor with the same sense of purpose, looking out for the customers interest in helping finding their items. She definitely needs training and should say hello how are you, and have a nice day. Graham is probably the only helpful and kind hearted person in that place.!!!! read more
