Let me first say I've met Dr. Weinstein for an annual last year and liked his no nonsense attitude. Fast forward a year, it's taken us almost 2 years, 80 + shots, x procedures, fail after fail pregnancy test to finally be pregnant from IVF through our Fertility specialist. I called Dr. Weinstein's office to set up my next appointment OBGYN as I'm 10 weeks pregnant. 11/10/2021- I'm sorry we can't set up your appointment until we have your medical history from your fertility specialist.......No problem, my fertility specialist is working on this. Fertility specialist faxed over paperwork on 11/12. 11/15/2021 - I'm sorry can you please hold while I look for your paperwork. 9 minutes later... Ma'am I don't have your medical paperwork and I can't schedule your appointment until we do........ no problem let me call my fertility specialist again. Fertility specialist faxed over paperwork on 11/16. 11/19/2021- I'm sorry can you please hold. 5 minutes later .... ma'am I don't have your paperwork......,, me, wow.... the whole 2 years at my fertility specialist they have not dropped the ball. This is weird. Fertility specialist faxed over paperwork on 11/19. 11/23/2021- Yes, we have received your medical records , but I am sorry I can't schedule your appointment until our office manager has reviewed them. She's out for the rest of the week so follow back up with us next Wednesday. (That's over a week to review what? That I've been through hell and back to get pregnant with no explanation) I am a part of an IVF fertility group in our local area and I asked them is this standard practice from your OBGYN to have to wait to get reviewed for an appt? Not one has had this "protocol" experience at their OBGYN's office. We have great insurance. Frisco Women's Health, the Doctors and staff helped to make my pregnancy a wonderful experience. The office itself is clean, bright and new. The ease of checking in, checking out and booking future appointments was refreshing (and hard to come by these days)! I had a very bad experience trying to make an appointment here. They accept my insurance provider but wouldn't make me an appointment without a referral even though my insurance doesn't require one. It was literally just for my annual well-woman exam which all insurance providers cover w out a referral due to Obamacare. I even had my insurance provider call them to confirm to them that I don't need a referral but they wouldn't budge on making me an appointment. It was very strange and I felt the staff was very rude. I ended up calling another gyno right after, they made me an appointment right away, were super friendly, and my insurance paid the claim to the provider for the visit within a few days. I've never had a chance to meet the staff or doctor, but I've never been treated so poorly in my life from a medical facility. I had an appointment for a general checkup and was looking forward to meeting a new OBGyn as I am new to the Frisco area. The day of my appointment, my daughter passed out at school and so naturally I went straight to Children's where she was transferred. I completely forgot about the appointment and the front office actually called me when I was on my way home after a very traumatizing day. I let them know I would call back to reschedule, and they seemed to understand-That is until I received a $50 no show fee statement from Frisco Women's Health in the mail. Mind you- I am not a patient of record, and no one mentioned the no Show fee policy over the phone. I've never seen a group of people with such lack of empathy and understanding in my life. I'm devastated, tired exhausted and worn very thin from taking care of my daughter- and appalled I would be charged for something completely out of my control. read more

Based on the reviews here, I felt I had to include my experience with Dr. Weinstein as well. His office staff was wonderful, he was not. I saw him as a new patient in an attempt find a new obgyn (as we were fairly new to the area). My husband and I, were looking at growing our family and I wanted to meet with this doctor before using him as my routine obgyn. I'm glad I did. Not because it was a good experience, because it certainly wasn't. He was cold and in an obvious rush during my very brief appointment with him. I realize doctors are very busy people and I was his last appt of the day. However, I waited patiently to see him, as he was running late, (which I was okay with as I didn't have to rush back to work). However, when I finally did see Dr Weinstein, he spoke to me as if I was bothering him or he was too busy to answer my pregnancy related questions. (I am a high risk patient so had some obvious concerns). We only spoke for a max of 7 minutes before he had to leave. It was disappointing to be talked down to by a doctor when he's supposed to be the physician and I the patient. And I had actually left work early and paid a copay for this "consult"! Lesson learned... I didn't make that mistake twice! I'm glad others who have posted have had good experiences with Dr Weinstein. I however, want to lend my voice to those who didn't...as I'm sure I'm not the only one. The silver lining: Due to a horrible visit with Dr Weinstein, I continued my search and now have found an amazing, kind, caring & compassionate obgyn at Frisco Obstetrics & Gynecology right down the road! Perfect timing as my husband and I just found out we are pregnant with our first child! I am so thankful it will be this group of physicians and their wonderful staff that will help my husband and I bring our first born into this world! If I could give this doctor and his practice 0 stars, I would! Worst office ever. My appointment was at 3:15. Dr Weinstein didn't even come to my room until 3:45! Good thing I had taken the rest of my work day off. This was my first OB appointment with my IVF miracle. The no eye contact really rubbed me wrong. And my spouse. Be professional and look in my eyes. Dr Weinstein took us to the sono room to look at our baby. The machine itself looked very dirty. I undressed as instructed and took position on the table. He was going to run a few gyno tests before the sonogram. I was a bit shocked that none of the material or instruments used were in sterile wrappings. Matter of fact, once I laid down, he opened a drawer full of speculums. He rinsed it off under the sink and before using the tool, remembered we weren't going to do a pap today. Now, I'm not a professional but aren't those supposed to be sterilized and sterile packaged after each use?! After this nightmare, we continued with the sonogram. His machine is from when Eve conceived Cain and Abel. He wasn't able to see much of anything and wasn't sure how to measure my baby. He said the heartbeat is perfect. I asked him to measure and he said his machine doesn't do that. He continued on to say that he is only a one man practice and can't afford fancy machines like IVF clinics. And suggested I go back to my RE to get a better picture and have it sent to him before proceeding. Halfway through he fussed and said my bladder was too full and to to wrap the drape around myself and walk to the restroom to empty my bladder. I chose to get dressed to walk down that hallway. When I returned, they had not changed the covering on the transvaginal wall and reused it. The rest of the scan he proceeded to talk about my recent miscarriage and how he doesn't make as much as my IVF Doctor does and I should go back to him. He went on to say that the IVF doctors are all cash patients and they make so much more that they can afford nice things. I was floored. The audacity. He's supposed to be professional? Dr Weinstein finally left the room and I proceeded to change back in to my clothes. My spouse and I were speechless but knew what each were thinking. We will never return to that office again. I can't believe the lack of cleanliness and organization and professionalism in that office. To think that this was going to be the man doing my csection?! Uh, no thanks. The thought of all the bacteria that could have been spread to me during an exam and sonogram is terrifying. The office ladies looked pretty battered and miserable. After leaving, I realize "that's all he can afford" since he's a one man office. No telling what other cost cutting things he does to save a dime. Be very cautious walking in to that office! This is not a review on Dr. Weinstein but rather his staff and his prices. I find Dr. Weinstein to be sweet and caring once you get past the no eye contact issue. His staff however is rude and really just don't seem to care about the patients. I figured I'll deal with it, not a big deal. I was a cash payer until I was able to find individual insurance. I ended up paying up to $600 at some visits that's a bit ridiculous. Then I got my PPO Scott & White insurance and was told right away that I need to pay $400 at my every visit until 1 month prior to giving birth. I ask why and I'm told that's just what the office manager says. So I'm going to pay almost $800/month including insurance that makes no sense. I called around to see if this is a normal thing, just to find out that the staff at Dr. Weinstein's office were trying to collect the deductible + 20% for the hospital where I would be giving birth, not my my prenatal care and/or co-pays. They never explained this to me either. I now go to a practice in the same neighborhood where I pay my 20% it comes down to $116/month and will be paying the deductible and hospital costs to the hospital directly. read more

I went to Dr. Weinstein when I became pregnant with my second child. The midwife I had previously used at Baylor downtown was no longer practicing and he was recommended as a supporter of low-intervention and natural childbirth, which is hard to find in the DFW area. I had a great experience--he was everything he was promised to be. I liked his staff and Tara, his NP, is fantastic. The aspect of his practice that I appreciated the most is that Dr. Weinstein takes his own call. This is VERY unique in OB/Gyn. Unless your baby is born during one of the two vacations he takes a year (and feel free to ask him when they will be--he was open about it and has a backup OB on call), HE will be the one to deliver your baby. That is incredible dedication. I felt very reassured knowing exactly who would be making any hard decisions should my labor and birth have complications. Happily, that was not the case, but it was reassuring nonetheless. There are two things I will mention, though: --More than once I had a very long wait for my appointment--45 minutes to an hour. I understand this is the nature of OB, but when I had to be back at work, it created some stressful situations. It happened often enough that I wonder if it could get a little better. --Dr. Weinstein is not your average warm & fuzzy, schmoozing Southern OB/Gyn. He is very direct and has a bit of an irreverent sense of humor. This did not bother me at all, but I can see how this would be surprising or offputting to prospective patients not expecting this. DO NOT USE DR. WEINSTEIN. I was visiting a friend in the hospital, who had just had emergency surgery, due to him not giving her any kind of physical examination before discharging her from the hospital after her delivery. HE ALSO NEVER SHOWED UP TO THE DELIVERY AT ALL, HE WAS ON CALL AND NEVER CAME...MIND BLOWN IN A BAD WAY. But beyond that blatant neglect, he also violated HIPAA. Her husband had to step out while I was visiting and Dr. Weinstein walked into her room and started immediately started talking about her care, her treatments and more NEVER asking her if it was okay to speak in front of me. He discussed some very personal issues without her permission. He knew I was not her husband who he had met. He didn't know who I was. He just blatantly violated her privacy without hesitation. How he still has a license is beyond me, but he sucks at his job and cannot even follow the basic ethical guidelines that are laid out at every healthcare office you will ever go to. He also spoke to her very harshly and never made eye contact with her at all. It was so unethical and unprofessional. I highly recommend Dr. Weinstein and his staff to anyone who wants to avoid a c-section or have a natural childbirth, which was SO important to me. Too many doctors are so quick to induce you and cut you open. My labor was 36 hours long and I think any other doctor would have sectioned me, but Dr Weinstein is very patient and lets you actually labor for as long as your body needs (And as long as the baby is not in danger). Im 4'11" and delivered a 8lb 10oz BIG baby boy. During my appointments made me feel vey at ease with everything and answered all my questions thoroughly, without fear mongering. I drove 30 minutes from my home in Euless just to be able to have him as my doctor, which says a lot knowing I would have to make that drive during active labor. The office staff were always really helpful and knew who I was when I came in for my appointments. The hospital, Baylor Frisco, where he delivers is also absolutely amazing. read more

I had a very bad experience with Dr Weinstein. I had to change my Doc before one week of my Due date because of following reasons , 1. In my 2nd trimester I asked him One question , How to deal with Insomnia due to work stress he prescribed on counter sleep medicine for sleep . and changed me 40$ , saying that I asked questions which is not related to pregnancy.I paid and kept quiet didn't feel free to ask any questions later on. 2. In 3rd trimester I had to ask him another question , since i have gestational diabetes is there any harm to Baby , He again changed 40$ saying i asked question not related to pregnancy. 3.Fetal test was not done until last 2 weeks before by due date since i had gestational diabetes . 4. I had to go to different doctors for each ultra sound and diabetes doc, he does not handle these 2 things . I was not at all happy about the treatment I came to know the quality of treatment after I changed my Doc . we have better doc with better treatment. doc where I am consulting right now handles ultra sound and diabetic issues by herself . I am feeling safe about my baby now and happy and confident about delivery with my new Doc . read more

If you are looking for a low intervention birth in a hospital setting then Dr. Weinstein's practice is for you. I agree that he might not be the touchy feely sort of doctor but he generally cares and Tara, his NP, meets that need :). Dr. Weinstein must work round the clock. He has his regular office hours, then delivers all this own patients and answers his own after hours calls. Dr. Weinstein delivered my baby on Friday afternoon. He came in to check on me and circumcise our son on Sat, and then he was also there to follow up on Sunday. You have to appreciate that sort of dedication. read more

I am 49 and felt I was not getting the answers I needed from my OB/GYN so turned to the internet for great reviews for a new doctor. That is where my first contact with Dottie and Jeanie happened and an appointment was arranged for me to see Tara quickly. Tara completely understood my issue, offered solutions and Dr. Weinstein came into the room to consult with me even though I was not on his schedule that day. We scheduled a pre-op visit where he talked to me at length about my upcoming procedure then the next day I had the procedure. The whole office from the front desk to Nydia, Tara, Dr.Weinstein and everyone in between was compassionate and professional. They are a breath of fresh air to me and I am grateful to have found them. He is able to give personal attention and I love the fact that he has a solo practice where I am not just a number. Dr. Weinstein was our savior when we had a nonviable pregnancy. We had seen multiple doctors before finally reaching Dr. Weinstein, all of them miserable experiences in themselves. However, Dr. Weinstein immediately made us feel at ease with a less than ideal situation. I had never had a male OBGYN and was quite uncomfortable with the idea of having one, but I am SO glad we found Dr. Weinstein! He was extremely empathetic towards our situation and gave us a lot of helpful information. He also talked with us about our various options (which is funny considering every other doctor made it seem like there was no other option outside of a D&C) and allowed us to make our own informed decision. I will be going to Dr. Weinstein from now on and hope to one day be pregnant again so he can deliver our first child. read more

I can't say enough great things about Dr. Weinstein! He is such a gift to women's health. I have two boys and Dr. Weinstein was my OB/GYN with my second one. He did his very best to fulfill my desires of how I wanted to give birth while also making sure we were both healthy through it all. He TRULY cares about his patients. To be an OB/GYN has got to be a challenging role.. because if you truly want to fulfill the moms wishes, you have to put your self aside and sacrifice your time. Giving birth isn't an event you can predict the timing of.. no one knows when its going to happen. There are many Dr's, especially in the DFW area that will schedule an induction/c-section just for the sole purpose of it being convenient for them. Dr. Weinstein will let you choose what you want for you and your baby as long as you both are healthy. Again, I can't say enough great things. SUCH AN INCREDIBLE CARING DR!! Definitely AVOID this doctor if you can. The staff truly do not care about patients and are very rude. They hide behind policies and do not look out for the best interest of the patient. Dr. Weinstein could also work on his bedside manner. No eye contact or human interaction and very judgemental. See other reviews below and you will see others have said the same thing. I had a different doctor for 13 years prior to Dr. Weinstein and only switched due to insurance providers, but I'd rather pay cash for an office visit and will RUN back to my previous doctor. Do not go to this clinic!! Absolutely terrible!! I had an apt with the nurse practitioner for a wellness visit and was charged $75 for asking a question about breastfeeding. I called the office and sent an email to the office manager and was told that asking questions is not part of the wellness exam. OMG I've held my tongue after being here for a little over two years and I've only been with them that long because I hate going through paperwork with new offices. I normally don't do reviews but today I was treated so rudely by the staff. I was about 15 minutes late, I called and told them that I was running late (because that's what kind people do). I work in Dallas so the traffic to get into Frisco on DNT is riduculus around 3:30 -4. Before this i've only ever been late 2 times prior in the last two years. I don't want to make this post too long so I'll just cut to the details. When I got there front staff rudely said "you're always late!" and they said the doctor will not see me. I already don't like the fact that for my pregnancy I'm forced to see a different doctor everytime I come so I don't have a way to really build a relationship with a doctor I can trust (which is something I personally like). Dr. Hillary Jarnagin was the doctor I was supposed to see today and I asked to speak to her and she refused to speak to me. That right there showed how rude and unprofessional this place is. I'm all about honesty. I've never been disrespected by Dr. Weinstein or Ortiz. However, my last emergency ultrasound I had to wait for Dr. Weinstein in the back room for almost an hour. Did I complain??!! NO! But I show up 15 minutes late and all hell breaks lose. So I guess it only works one way. The doctor only matters not the patients. All I could say it it's sad when you come in contact with unethical professionals who act like they could care less about the patient and more about the money. I understand I was late but every time I come in I'm always always waiting in the front for at least 20 minutes, so the fact that they act like time is that important to them it's a joke. Everything happens for a reason, I was skeptical about staying here anyway because it's hard to build that patient doctor relationship. Plus When I first came here before I was pregnant, I've only seen an actual doctor once, which was my first appointment ever after that it was hard to get a schedule in with them. I'm not sure where to begin singing the praises of the amazing Dr. Weinstein! From the first visit he was incredibly knowledgeable and clear. When I told him I wanted a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) not only did he not tell me no, like 2 other docs had...he began explaining a plan, risks and benefits, statistics and more. He couldn't promise anything, but we would try. As the pregnancy progressed, he managed my chronic high blood pressure, polyhydramnios(extra amniotic fluid), turned the baby from breech to head down with an external cephalic version, all the while keeping a close eye on baby and I since I had had 2 previous C-sections. I was not exactly a model patient with all these issues. At so many points he could have told me to just have a c section, but he knew how important VBAC was to me, he never gave up on my crazy dream of wanting to deliver my baby vaginally. on Saturday I delivered with Dr. Weinstein during the most amazing, wonderful, perfect vaginal birth ever!!! And my baby was a whopping 11lbs 2 oz. Yes, eleven! Dr. Weinstein has a great sense of humor and sarcasm that I appreciated so much. He always listened and heard what I had to say, and responded with real answers, not always what I wanted to hear, but realistic. We developed a great rapport during the last 10 months and I'm kind of sad I won't get to chat with him every week anymore! I also have to mention, I am a former OB nurse. I've met a ton of OB docs in my career and Dr. Weinstein is special in so many ways. He still believes in letting your body do its thing. He is willing to go the extra mile--like turning a breech baby, allowing VBACs even after more than 1 c section, and even vaginally birthing twins. Because he knew I was a nurse, he sometimes told me about interesting cases he'd worked on over the years, and his experiences were amazing and inspiring! He's done it all, but he always puts mom and baby's safety first, of course! The staff in the office was always cheerful and helpful and I LOVED that I almost never had to wait! It was rare to not go right back. Even if I hadn't gotten the VBAC, I would still be talking about how wonderful Dr. Weinstein is! The VBAC was a bonus! Maybe I should have another baby just so we can do something amazing together again?!?! read more

I m 6 weeks pregnant called in for appointment looks like staff don't care. They not sharing taxid to see if insurance is covered. They tell Dr will not do VBAC unless you had a normal one already which was very weird . They said I should have had a C-section , than normal delivery for 2nd time in order for 3rd delivery to try for normal. That's ridiculous I have never heard this elsewhere with Drs who do VBAC. Many doctors in the metroplex claim to be supportive of natural childbirth and letting the body do what it needs to do in order to achieve this, but often when it comes down to it, they fail, utilizing intervention which often lead to more interventions. This is where Dr. Weinstein is different. My obstetrical care throughout my pregnancy was amazing, never did I wait to be seen. The office staff was very supportive and always very friendly. My delivery was not as planned, but I never felt that anything was out of my control. My water broke at 32 weeks 6 days. We did everything we could to extend gestation, and made it to 34 weeks 5 days. My labor was tough due to underlying circumstances but I had choice in everything we did in order to get my little one here safely. I was never pushed toward any intervention, despite the fact that I eventually requested pitocin. Despite the fact that my little guy ended up in the NICU, Dr. Weinstein did everything in his power to allow this to be as normal a birth as possible, allowing for delayed clamping, dad to cut the cord, and placing baby on my tummy before the NICU team whisked him away. Thank you for making this experience the best it could possibly be (from someone who has had and prefers home birth). read more

Dr. Weinstein is the best OB/GYN I have ever had. He makes you feel welcome to answer any questions and at the first appointment has a meeting in his office for new patients to answer any questions/concerns prior to the usual sitting in a gown and talking to the doctor then and feeling rushed. Dr. Weinstein, Dr. Jarnigan, and entire staff are very friendly and welcoming. I found the patient portal helpful in regards to viewing test results, viewing your next appointment, and being able to send questions and receive answers in a timely manner (usually the same day). It was my first time being pregnant and I had many questions which were able to be answered on the portal which I think is helpful instead of patient possibly misinterpreting a response or having to play the game of phone tag.
