From check in to discharge I had the best experience ever!! My experience was so great, it makes me look forward to my next stay. Went in for a major surgery (12+hours) and I was sooo nervous. I mean ready to go back home, asking the surgeons and everyone else why they were so calm nervous... Everyone was so pleasant and reassured me that everything would be ok. I made sure to let the surgeons and staff know that "I needed to wake up" and nearly 13 hours later. I woke up!! My surgeons were top notch!! If you ever get a mastectomy with reconstruction Dr. Perry and Dr. Mckane are your surgeons. I've seen pictures of others with the same surgery and I am glad that my incisions look nothing like that... The Anesthesiologist was amazing as well. During the surgery and during my hospital stay they made sure that my husband and children were taken care of. Usually you wait in the waiting room, but they let them stay in the room that I would be in during my stay so they were comfortable. My husband mentioned that they even had a beverage cart. I was in the hospital from Wednesday to Sunday and I was actually the only patient in the whole hospital for the last few days. The level of care was outstanding! Before you could think of it, they were there. I had a bit of an issue with pain management, but the nurses were there to ensure I was as comfortable as possible. Usually you get those few nurses that just don't enjoy their job, but I can honestly say that ALL of my nurses were the best of the best! The last thing you want after surgery is a noisy hospital and this hospital was sooo quiet. It was also very clean. Overall, this stay was like a trip to a fancy hotel:) This surgery was not a walk in the park, but this hospital made all the difference. THANK YOU!! Another bonus, the food... YUMM!!! I've never had hospital food so good at a hospital. In fact, I've never had food so good at some restaurants. I didn't have much of an appetite afterwards and they worked with me to try to get something that I could eat. The Cheesecake and chicken Alfredo was my favorite. They even made homemade chicken noodle soup. I even asked if they could come home and cook for me lol!

If the nurses ran the hospital, Im confident it would be the best in the city! The doctors don't talk to nurses, patients, families or each other. They order tests, such as ECG, echo cardiogram, labs, but never look at results or share them with patients. When asked, they say they were "fine." Thank goodness the nurses pointed out the labs weren't even done! We arrived in ER after primary doctor visit. No one was in triage. When someone arrived, I handed drivers license and insurance card. I was told they couldn't take those I had to fill out paperwork first. All information on form was on Drivers license and insurance card except phone numbers. So much for EMTALA. I guess they would rather type from my handwriting than the IDs. An IV was started, labs were drawn, history taken, ECG done, throat looked at, I dont recall anyone having a stethoscope, but diagnosis of dehydration made. Liter of fluid infused by gravity in 30 minutes then sat for next 40 minutes alone. No idea how to get help if needed and couldnt talk or scream. Then a team, 3 nurses, paramedic, doctor and scribe came in. Suddenly, the dehydration was critical, they started another IV ran 3 liters of fluid in with pressure bags and pumps, which actually took twice as long as gravity, and transferred to CCU simultaneously! What do you think they were doing for the 40 minutes we just sat there after the first liter? The doctor in CCU started explaining diagnosis, but was called away to an emergency. He never came back. We saw a doctor each morning who was kind but ignored sore throat as dehydration, ignored stomach pain as hunger or gas, ordered tests and never gave results or explained plan of care. Once said needed to drink more but order was NPO! The nurses always asked, every time they left room if patient or family needed anything. They agreed every time to check on results and plan. Sometimes they responded they weren't sure why there wasn't a plan yet, but agreed to check. When transferred to regular floor, we were told the doctor had 24 hrs to see patient and they started new meds per protocol. They offered to contact NP. They returned stating NP was at a rapid response and would try to return. Its been 8 hours. I have no doubt the NP was busy. There are rapid responses every hour and several code blues. Maybe if patients had a plan of care they wouldnt be dying for attention. Phlebotomists, nurses aids, nurses, echo tech, respitatory therapist all great. Doctors? What doctors?

I had been diagnosed on Saturday morning with an elevated white count while out of town. I noticed a blister on Friday late afternoon grown to four times overnight and had opened up to revel an open wound approx. 3'' wide and 4'' long. I wanted to travel back closer to my own zip code before seeking treatment, as the urgent care suggested that I admit myself to the local hospital. The Medical City - Plano ER said that since I was "afebrile" (didn't have a temperature) I should go home and call my dermatologist on Monday...which was still 2-days away! Told my partner, "We're going to shop this situation, until a hospital takes me." I was immediately seen and admitted to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital - Plano. I was placed on heavy intravenous antibiotics for 5-days, in addition to having daily wound care. I was very grateful for the doctor who treated me, along with the nursing staff. I recuperated for another week at home, continuing the wound care before returning to daily activities. I followed-up with Medical City - Plano concerning the lack of care I received. After back-and-forth communication, they stated my situation that I presented was a "rash" and that they stood by the doctor's recommendation to see a dermatologist. I did follow-up with my dermatologist; he said that he didn't understand the recommendation, since I obviously didn't have a rash, but a raging skin infection.

I even submitted a survey on their behalf. No callback, but hell I'm not surprised. I came here to get bloodwork done & I can see that the whole lobby was packed & that I would have to wait in the car because there were no more seats & that I would receive a text message once it was my turn. I didn't mind the wait however they didn't tell me how long probably since they knew I'd leave. The wait was an hour & fifteen minutes by the way... After waiting in my car for over an hour I finally get a text message, I immediately walked from my car to the lobby. It took me less than two minutes. The guy before me came from his car too, we walked in together & the receptionist told us we weren't immediately here so they took others instead... what in the actual fuck? How are we supposed to walk from our cars to the facility in two seconds?! The receptionist didn't even apologize, she told us to wait outside to be called again cause the lobby was still full. They came out & called the guy before me to come & the receptionist told me to still wait right outside the door, she said she already told the technician that I was outside & she would come get me as soon as she's done. I waited another 20 minutes with a woman who actually had an appointment, she said it's been 30 minutes passed hers. A different woman later came after me, they told her to wait outside as well. Another 20 minutes passes & an actual client comes out & tells the woman that came after me they called her, but she didn't come inside so they skipped her. That made me upset because they told us to wait outside right in front of the door & said the techs knew we were out there. I also realized they probably have skipped me too since that lady was after me. I came back inside the receptionist was no where to be found. The clients that were inside said they called me again & skipped me once again! At this point it was getting ridiculous. How is this anyway my fault if I didn't show up when I was right outside the door? How was this my fault when the receptionist told the techs that I was outside?! They skipped me twice & I waited about 2 hours or so! I understand mistakes happen, but clearly this place doesn't have their shit together. The man before me got skipped, the lady after me, & also the lady who made an actual appointment! Why bother even have a checking in machine that gives you an option to wait inside your car if they're just going to skip you because you cannot magically appear in their lobby within seconds! I don't mean to curse so much, I try to keep it professional as possible when it comes to writing reviews for places, but all I can say is fuck this place. Go somewhere else to get lab work done.

The second nurse who wheeled my daughter back to anesthesia did not look at her chart; called my daughter a boy, didn't know her name, was rushed and confusing as she described the process my daughter was about to go through (opposite of helping her feel safe). My biggest complaint was when my daughter came out of anesthesia, I felt I had to tell the nurses what to do. We were warned the process of waking up can be rough, but I don't know why they waited until after she was awake to take out her IV. She is 7. She began circling the bed and tangling herself up...I was trying to figure out how to hold her. I asked if she needed the IVs. They said no...then they decided to unhook her. Then, she began grasping at her throat so seriously, and sobbing (which I thought could be normal). After about 5 minutes of this, I asked "what pain medication does she have in her system?" The nurses (who are right there watching all of this) then checked her chart and said, "oh she does need pain medication." It took them another 5-7 minutes to get her the pain meds. Not okay. I had to repeatedly ask for tissues (none in the room) and her water to be refilled, even though the nurses were standing right there. This was an awful experience for a 7 year old. I knew it would not be fun but I felt a lot of this could have been anticipated and prevented. Plus, I felt I was having to instruct the nurses on their job.

After getting the first injection, I never received a bill for anything else. Fast forward 9 months after my second injection and I received a bill for ~$2,200! Same injection, same exact procedure yet I was billed for the 2nd procedure and not the 1st. Mind you, both times I paid my $750, I was assured I didn't owe anything else. After looking over the "itemized" charges for the 2nd bill (still waiting on the first) I saw they charged insurance $40,000 for the "operating room"! That's not a misprint, 40K for what was literally a 2 minute procedure which is also documented since they send a text to your designated driver when the procedure starts and when it's over. Emminent is a physician owned hospital so be careful, they are unethical and not trustworthy. I wouldn't care if I could barely walk and they were the last hospital on earth, I wouldn't give them another dime. There are multiple people I have recently recommended this hospital to for similar problems as mine but after receiving this bill I'll be sure to tell them to steer clear and use another physician and/or "surgery" center. Proceed at your own risk.
