Dr. Goldstein was very honest with us and let us know what was needed in order to have success with IVF. With my wife already in her 40s and having experienced 2 failed cycles we were hesitant to even try again. After meeting with Dr. Goldstein we felt more comfortable trying again. Not because he told us that everything was perfect, but because he was very direct with us, and explained his process. If you want someone to sugar coat things and take your money with no results then this office isn't for you. If you want someone to be honest with you about expectations, then this is your office. Reason for treatment: When I started seeing Dr Havemann I was 24 and had been under the care of a…read morelocal OBGYN who had been helping me try and get pregnant since I was 23 so luckily I had a years worth of blood work and monitoring under my belt before I ever saw Dr Havemann. I had been trying to get pregnant for a total of 3 years using OPKs, temping, a semen analysis for my husband that showed everything was great on his end, the whole thing. I ended up having two blocked tubes. Testing: like I said, I already had a years worth of bloodwork and monitoring so by the time I went in, we just ordered some additional bloodwork and an HSG test. This test showed the culprit of our issues - blocked tubes. From there, Dr Havemann said we were perfect candidates for IVF. Treatment: I started my IVF cycle in January with stims. February we transferred and a couple weeks later we found out it was successful and we are pregnant! Monitoring: during stims I went in every other day for follicle checks and blood work. Now that we're pregnant, we were seen for a 7 week sonogram and will go in for a 9 week. Staff: the kindest team you could ever deal with when going through such a scary and uncertain time. I called multiple times a day and each time they were so kind, invested and helpful. IVF is hard and you become your own little nurse over night but they are right by your side through it all. They answer lines quickly, respond so quick - they know those little lingering thoughts and worries can consume your mind so on the off chance they miss your call they call right back. I've gotten rush appointments and they take care of you every step of the way. Billing: having a financial consult to go through your options on the most affordable option was perfect. IVF is expensive - but they offer options. Thank goodness as this was the only way we could afford it! Dr Havemann: so kind, invested and attentive. Talking to her is just the be all end all of your worries. She is so well educated, honest and dedicated to helping you get the family you've dreamed of in the best way possible. She greets you in the waiting room every time. You can tell how well she is trusted and respected by her staff and patients and she has truly earned it. The basic courtesy? No signage, no prior notice, no discreet conversation--just a cold, public directive to leave and "join on FaceTime." That's not compassion; that's carelessness. As a guest who traveled across the country to support someone going through an already difficult process, I was left feeling disrespected, dismissed, and ultimately disappointed by how they handled the situation. Being "mindful" of all patients includes how you treat THEIR SUPPORT SYSTEMS, too.
